For a simple summary for context, the featured character, Gnosis basically played the role of villain to allow his friend to start what amounted to a minor civil war for the sake of forcing their country to break isolationism and begin making progress towards the future. It's more complicated than that, but that at least gives you the gist of why the character song feels why it does.
Break the Ice has such an interesting set of antagonists. Enciodes (Silverash), Gnosis, and Degenbrecher are all extremely entertaining as characters in their own rights, and seeing them take the spotlight as "villains" was awesome. One of my favorite events to this day
IT'S KEVIN GOD PENKIN WHO MADE HEAL THE WORLD ??? NO WONDER I LIKED THIS SONG SO MUCH OMG. Even with 2+ years in this game and its music, I'm still learning. Thanks for the great video as usual Catharsis!
*It's just a tear that saves me from the darkness* ... goes so hard, man 😭 Thank you for your insights, Cathy! I'm ready to send another one in...name of the composer might rhyme with Gunmen Bubman 👀
I know that it was most likely already suggested, but check out Mili's new mini-album "Let's Lament" which contains remade versions of "In Hell We Live, Lament" and "Between Two Worlds" (piano + very strong vocals basically)
This is my favourite Arknights EP and character so thank you for this good analysis! You're absolutely spot on with connecting the deliberate chaos of the music to his personality. Gnosis is the type of character with intense internal conflict and his story arc involves acting as the villain for the 'greater good' while being uncertain of his own future. There's a constant clash between the intensity of how he strives for his goals and what he actually thinks he deserves as someone branded as a sinner. It's really cool to see how the music reflects this in the whole composition as you were able to pick up so much without needing specific details. On an Arknights music note this does have a little tie-in with a previous song you reacted to 'Blade Catcher' as the characters are connected. They both also reference a third character and EP called 'Silver Lining' if you ever listen to it (if you were hit with anime anti-hero/villain vibes in this one wait for it's counterpart the classic Disney hero).

Can you try lappy's fanmade arknights songs? Her talulah's theme gave me so much chills.
Did you react yet to Arknights' So Long Adele 3D Animation
No but I'll very likely touch on it next month 👀
