Love catching your old videos. I made a haversack out of a burlap coffee bean bag and lined it with a cotton pillow case. I’ve used and abused it and it works great.

Two things: 1). Thanks for the video. 2). I was at your store in Indy on Saturday and attended Jaime's talk on flint and steel. Excellent instruction. I learned a lot.

I always have a 100% cotton pillowcase in my kit. When I unload my stuff sacks, I put them all in the pillow case. I use it to haul things in. I use it as a base for sorting small things out that I can't lose. I'm sure it'd work as a bear bag in pinch.
I use it as a catch all when I have to run out and just throw what I'm using in it. I use it as a lost & found until I can sort my things out. If I'm missing something and it's not on the ground, it's going to most likely be in that sack.
And if I got one in some high visibility color, it'd make a good signaling flag. Of course, it being 100% cotton lends itself towards making charred cloth. Oh yeah, and it's a comfortable pillow once stuffed with "stuff". :)

We did this when I was a kid but we used large 75lb seed bags (burlap with an inner case of linen". We never had money for back packs until I was in my late teens and I sold "Grit" newspaper and rather than pay, we selected gear from their list. We also used the typical bank bag on the end of a stick as a "Hobo" carry. We had also used "Tick" cloth pillow cases for this. In my 20's we then used that .020 Tick Cloth as black-powder firearm patches.

Yeah, this idea has been around for a while. Russian army has used it for decades, including WW2. Their bags had the straps attached permanently on the lower corners, then made a simple self-tightening loop in the middle and used it to both cinch the upper opening shut and to attach the straps on top.

If it is good enough for the armies of the former Warsaw pact (including Bulgaria) the good old military type sack with shoulder straps called "мешка" / "meshka" is good for the outdoors
some random pictures from Bulgarian bushcraft forums:
    media.snimka.bg/9228/024712180-big.jpg?r=0
    www.bushcraftbg.com/images/2011_02_23/images/img_9043.jpg
the difference is that the strap is one piece sawed to the bottom two ends of the back panel and is attached to the top part by making a loop
btw. why not recreate it for your store - it is an old common technologie - simple and reliable
made by a good waxed canvas will be a good seller

I've thought about getting machete a good fixed blade knife would it be possible if u could do a video on how to make the modified attachments to rig a survival kit to a knife or machete. and what are some things that would be a good start for a kit ???thanks much may GOD bless you and your family. and thanks again for the great videos !!!

In the boy scouts we used to make the scouts pack everything in a pair of pants and carry that for a 2 day trip before they could use a back pack. why don't you give that a try. any size pants could be used but all your camping gear had to be inside the pants. You could tie the legs together and slip them over your head for example.
