I have been listening to your videos for the past two days and I cannot tell you how much valuable information you give and explain for the lay man. I cannot tell you how much I have learned and have retained an attorney today.
They forced my sister she has over 40k worth of medical bills already and they just dorected the 10k pip without her permission to a single bill to the hospital after she sent a letter of intent saying she didnt want them paid directly due to her having to sort out who to pay.
So I’m in negotiations on auto accident and the insurance company said they only allow for reasonable billing amt. my bills are around 11,000 after the ER already wrote off a good amount because my personal insurance paid and they want to give me 7,000 toward those bills and told me I could go negotiate the amt dow? How should I handle this ?
My husband ( lives in NJ )had a car accident due to dears pops up on the road & his car was flipped over result in total loss. He was checked for minor cuts wounds on his hand by parameds (ambulance ) but next day he went to the hospital to checked out. Dr. Took a CT scan which results were good okay. The hospital sent him a bill for the test around $734.00 Should he fill out the Hippa & PIP forms for claim?
Unfortunately, sometimes that is the case. But if I understand you correctly, you are saying that the person that hit you has a $25,000 policy and you have Uninsured Motorist coverage (UM) but you do not have Underinsured Motorist coverage (UIM). I think you need to check your policy because it would be very unusual to only have UM coverage but not UIM coverage. If your medical bills are $100,000 you should have no problem getting the $25,000. If you have UM/UIM coverage, you should have no problem getting that coverage given the cost of your care. If however, you only have the $25,000, most health care billing departments will reduce the bill to allow you to get something. If you are representing yourself ask them to accept half, or $12,500. I would be surprised if they didn't work with you in this regard.
Not sure if you’ll see this, but I had an accident at work and I’m a contractor but I pay weekly for occupational work insurance. Someone hit me in the work truck, I was injured and they gave me a settlement of $2300 and they set aside $5000 for medical bills. My medical bills were only $3000. If I don’t let my insurance take the entire $5000 and I pay the $3000 myself, do I pocket the $2000?
Sorry you got hurt. That has a way of ruining your day. I'm not sure what state you are in, so I can't say specifically, but I am comfortable in saying in general that you DO NOT get the balance of the unapplied medical set-aside.
Hi I had a rear end in the freeway, do I use my blue shield insurance thru CoveredCA? Or will the other party will try to get me their doctors treat me? I’m in California and both my husband I git hurt thank you in advance
Hi Lucretia: Let me start out by saying that I am not licensed in California. Generally speaking, you should never delay getting treated for injuries. You always want to be diagnosed as soon as possible for the best medical outcome. Health should come before everything else. Being seen shortly after a crash also removes any issues about "gaps" in care. I suggest that you contact a personal injury attorney near you as soon as possible and they will guide you on the next steps. The call is free. Good luck and I hope your husband and you feel better soon.
@@davidbuckley5100 well my accident resulted in the attorney and the medical team getting 83% of my judgement, leaving me looking foolish. I think the lawyers are in bed with the hospitals/physical therapists for kickbacks on lowering the costs. or maybe i just went to a ambulance chaser and got cleaned.
What a gem. I wish this video had more views.

I am not licensed in New Jersey, but ordinarily PIP will cover the cost of the initial medical bills.
Great video, how can a individual get the retail amount from the insurance company?
my med was 100k and the policy was 25 and I didn't have underinsured but I did have uninsured, so does that mean I'm getting nothing

This benefit the lawers
so the ones who really profit from a persons loss, is the attorney...insurance is a scam for lawyers...
How do you figure that? It is the attorney who understands how insurance works that results in a higher amount that goes to the client.
