There was always a very small cohort of rule breakers, but it was minor things, that didn't frighten or do actual harm to anyone else. This is very frightening that children are being so influenced by social media and by their peers that such a thing as a school bombing or shooting could happen. 😢

All fans of Sheriff Grady of Florida should know one important thing about him. He did a video presentation that was posted on RUclips about how he was totally against restricting qualified immunity in any way for law enforcement. He said qualified immunity is just about civil lawsuits and local police departments and prosecutors are out there ensuring police officers face repercussions for violating people's rights. He said restricting qualified immunity would just unnecessarily tie up law enforcement resources in court. However, in news from Florida this week is a civil lawsuit where due to mistaken identity an innocent mother spent 3 days in jail and was subject to a body cavity search, exposed to cold air being blown on her and loud heavy metal music blasted in her cell at her. The warrant mistakenly had her photo due to a deputy downloading the wrong person's photo but the description on the warrant of a 28-year-old woman and her being age 50, several inches shorter and different eye color as listed on her driver's license did not sway Florida deputies one bit to take a closer look. Even when the booking officer scanned her driver's license and it showed no warrants and a different social security number, the arresting officer just shrugged it off. The sheriff of that Florida county simply stated his deputies were found innocent of any wrongdoing thru an "internal investigation" and the case is now CLOSED. While the lady has decided to file a civil lawsuit as the only other recourse since the deputies involved are not being punished in any way for their negligence, she has an uphill battle due to qualified immunity. Sheriff Grady is so full of it when his states restricting qualified immunity is not needed to hold law enforcement accountable. He is no different from others that back the blue with blinders on.

I definitely agree with what they are doing, but I also think schools need to do a better job of cracking down on bullying because the school shootings isn't all we need to address here, but also the things that are driving many of these kids to want to do these things. Kids shouldn't have to be worried about being killed in school, the kids also shouldn't have to be worrying about being mistreated by their peers. It should be a safe learning environment for all kids to every degree and the adults need to make sure this is how it is for all students. Great job Sheriff Judd, keep up the amazing work 🙂
And on another note. People who own firearms need to see what is happening in the world today and need to be more responsible where they are leaving their guns. I don't think it's too much to ask to not leave your guns in your vehicle overnight, or at least have it locked up into something in the vehicle that cannot be easily broken into or walked off with should the vehicle get broken into, and do a better job of not letting your children have free access to the firearms in your home. It's people's rights to do what they want with their firearms but please consider what has been happening, and just be a bit more responsible.

3 to 5 hours of law enforcements time. You can double that for school employees time. That takes educators away from students.

I used to work closely with local Sheriffs, in fact I worked one Department where our Sheriff doubled as the Chief of Police for our department, it made sense back then, now that PD is dissolved and the SO has contracted protection with the City, same thing happened here in my home town now as well. We have seen a drop in local control in the City, where the PD used to enforce things like loud music, loud exhaust and exhibition driving, now you can hear cars coming for six blocks away by the bass boom out of the huge speakers that take up the entire back of the car, there are black marks up and down the street, and cars go by my house which is on the major street leading to the grammar school at 30 to 40 MPH where the limit is 20. The town is suffering by the contract, and the city dads no longer go after the officers to keep the town in order. Sad really. I know, I once worked the streets back when we had a police department with a chief who reported to the city council.

How many times has Grady put a parent in jail for whooping a child in my day you couldnt go to the store without seeing a child get the shit slapped out of them for doing wrong ,If that was to happen today there would be ten cops escorting the parent to jail, its starts with parents not tolerating inappropriate behavior ,and the only time a parent should be chanrged with child abuse is when there's a broken bones , not bruised child,In 1990 crime rate went per capita know what happened 18 years earlier row verses wade ,,! Parent who wanted to be parents became parents the ones who didn't fixed the issue . Now this means you teach this gets results lets not teach the wrong things , education with language and consequences works and teaching a police state will be the end of the great experiment we call America and the united states

Where is the responsibility of the parents to teach their kids what you are asking a police officer to do. That is the responsibility of the parents and the police acts on the actions of the disruptive kids. Most of the kids don't mean harm, but what if they all do? Again it goes back to the way the parents are raising their children. Stop blaming everything else, but responsibility where it belongs not with the police.
