    Greetings! This is the first of your videos that I view and it will not be the last. Your review on this little vacuum is absolutely the greatest. I've never seen such precise explanation with clear sound. Great job and I'm headed out to buy 3 - 1 for the house, 1 for the shop and 1 for the truck. Thank you!

      Oh my gosh, what a nice comment! I actually used mine today to clean up my workbench but could definitely use a second to keep in my cleaning closet. It’s perfect for vacuuming the stairs to the second floor, who wants to cart an upright vac? Lol Hope you enjoy the convenience of this little handheld.

    Great Overview for the DeWalt Cordless Vacuum! This showed me everything I needed to see about this new tool! Been needing one of these for a long time, even though I know it hasn't been available for long. Vacuuming stairwells would be my main use for it. Much less work in doing so than with a canister or shop vac and safer as well. Seems to have plenty of power for that. Just the right amount of attachments to go along with it. I appreciate the closeups and the demonstration of just how much power it has for my needs.

    interesting. looks better than the smaller dewalt 20v dry vac. I might try one of these or honestly the smallest Dewalt AC shop vac for about $90. I'm sure the smallest AC shop vac is more powerful and easily wet/dry. However this is great for lighter work and not need to drag around a shop vac (even a small one) or the power cord.

    They need an additional, smoother layer around the filter. Those pleats are going to fill up fast, and they'll be annoying to clean. Especially in that small of a cannister.
    Other stick vaccumes (shark, lg, dyson) get over 100+ air watts and have double the run time.
    I'm still going to consider it for my garage, but they could have done better.

    • @chrisvaiuso6010
      @chrisvaiuso6010 2 года назад +1

      I suspect that part of the reason that DeWalt did not come out with a stick vac sooner was that they don't own the vacuum specific patents that companies like Dyson have, and therefore could not compete. But if you have lots of DeWalt batteries already, it might make sense.

  • @emmettturner9452
    @emmettturner9452 Год назад

    I want to see a comparison with the cordless Dyson hand vacs. I don’t see any powered accessories. Hopefully DeWALT is working on a model like that. Also, is there a way to use this with DeWALT tools that have dust extractor ports with that proprietary DeWALT connector? Is there a way to keep it running when it hands by the hook so you can use a different tool while it extracts dust?

    • @Jennyfromtheshop
      @Jennyfromtheshop  Год назад

      Hi Emmett, I don't have a Dyson to do a comparison video or I definitely would film one. I can ask my friends at Alton Industry if they have any vacuums with powered accessories. They're licensed to make the shop vacs you see in my other videos although I don't believe they manufacture this handheld. As for the dust extractor I'm going to guess no although I don't know for sure. This is great for smaller jobs (it's an map in my house especially on stairs) but doesn't compete with a full shop vac. I would liken it to a dust buster on steroids.

    You state one needs to use a 5 amp battery with this vacuum. Why? A 3 or 4 amp battery will cause a problem other than it won't last as long? Unlikely.
    You also point out the decal showing not to use compressed air to clean it but say no more about it. Is there something in the manual cautioning against this with an explanation? Will it damage the filter, or is it a liability thing so as not to have customers creating clouds of hazardous dust?
    I've used a Dewalt blower, outside and up wind, to clean my canister type Dewalt vacuum many times and seems to work great. Are you actually recommending just tapping the filter to clear it as best as that will work and then replacing the filter each time it becomes clogged, which will be often? This sounds expensive and the efficiency will be continually declining until a new filter is installed, if that's what one actually does.

    • @Jennyfromtheshop
      @Jennyfromtheshop  8 месяцев назад

      Hi Kevin! As for the battery, yes, a smaller one would work but the recommended battery is the 5AH per my connections at DeWalt and page 9 of the manual. I think it's more a performance and life issue, so as not to have unhappy users they recommend the larger battery.
      Also on page 9 of the manual it speaks specifically about the filter, I'm going to copy/paste their language on the matter:
      "Never use compressed air or a brush to clean filters,
      otherwise damage to the filter membrane will occur
      which will allow dust to pass through the filter."
      It does say you can use compressed air to blow dust out of the air vents.
      In real life, one could probably use caution when blowing dust from the filter, but I wasn't going to say that in my video because it's against the advice of the manual. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    • @Jennyfromtheshop
      @Jennyfromtheshop  2 года назад

      I used it on very short carpet in my shop, it worked well. It doesn’t have a beater bar on the bottom of that one attachment, so it probably isn’t meant for plush carpet except for spills, etc. It won’t replace a vacuum but is awesome for sweeping steps, window sills, and things like that.

    It chokes on wood chips from my firewood pile and lots of other miscellaneous stuff. It's an okay vacuum for small stuff that it can swallow but the nozzle inside diameter is only 1 inch and the power is decidedly underwhelming with a 5aH battery. It's very handy and convenient but it's a light duty tool. I don't think it's worth $150. $75 would be fair in my opinion.

    • @Jennyfromtheshop
      @Jennyfromtheshop  Год назад

      I agree. I’ve had it “clog” twice since I’ve had it with bigger stuff. It’s easily fixable of course but it doesn’t take the place of a full sized shop vac.

      I think the location of the inlet is the weakness of this machine. Stuff bigger than about 1/4 inch gets stuck between the filter and the inside of the waste canister and then you're out of business. If the intake was away from the filter it'd be way better gadget.

    • @skolvikings5263

      Don't over think it, it's a small battery powered handheld, very handy for catching dust as your sanding, cleaning the car, picking up dust in the house. My big shop vac clogs up in the hose from time to time, just unclog it and continue. On sale for $100 right now, name a hand held that works better than this??@@tinman1955
