Love that second shot. There was less water but the angles of the building were more pleasing and I liked the trees creeping in around the edges. I will allow you to show me this place when I eventually visit one day!
If he won't Gavin I will, I found it a couple of weeks ago. It was a very wet day and a lot of water flowing so I was limited for compositions hence I need to go back! mates rates! :-)
Glad you like the Mill Paul..My Grandad found the place in the 1930s and saved it from ruin.. In our family till this day.. I appreciate you being respectful to it.. Please don't tell too many people where it is! 👍
Thanks so much Mark it was nice to meet you the day we were there. And yes I don't give away the location unless I get a private message from someone I would trust to be equally respectful of such a beautiful location. Many thanks again 😃👍✌
Hi from Plymouth, It’s great to see your birds eye view of the amazing Watermill. I enjoyed your two visits and totally agree that the water level makes all the difference. The explanation of how you overcome the harsh light and hot spots was useful. Excellent stills too avoiding the left hand overhanging tree. My girlfriend and I spent a week in the lakes for the first time in last week Oct 19 and was blown away by the scenery. I normally shoot seascapes living in the West Country. We did find the mill on our last day in the rain after some research and it was the highlight for me... I’ll check out your over blogs particularly in the lakes. Chris Marshall
Cheers mate glad you enjoyed it. It's a fantastic little place the old Mill . And the lakes are beautiful I am so glad you found the information useful and hope you enjoy the future content. Many thanks and welcome to the channel 😄👍✌
Hi Paul hope all going well I'm only one year behind on adding a comment but I've just been checking out Borrowdale mill and I must say your pictures are amazing compared to what I've seen 👌
@@ianbell5254 Many thanks Ian glad It helped and more to come soon . As soon as I can get back into action trapped nerve not helping at moment🙁 but hope to get back out very soon . Thanks for your comments mate 😀👍✌
Really nice buddy and could not agree more about finding the time in our busy life’s. I’ve just finished 5 weeks of non stop audits and can actually get my life back now and get out with the camera. Trying to catch up on all your vlogs also lol💯❤️🤓🇬🇧👍📸🍾
Great video Paul. I didn't know that you were using the word " Bekk or Beck" for these small water streams. It's the same word we use in Norwegian language. Looking forward to your next video.
Thankyou Jan Glad you enjoyed it and I didn't know that either so we have both learned something 🤣 Many thanks and I hope you enjoy the future content best wishes Paul.
Hi Jan, the location is in the Lake District and lots of the place names and features in the area derive from when the Vikings did their thing way back in time.
Thanks Ed much appreciated and if you want to get into exposure blending I have included a link to Adam Gibbs Video course in the description. It's how I figured it all out. 😀 hope it helps and happy shooting 😀👍✌
Hi I love this Old Mill I am in NZ and coming over to the UK I am hoping to be able to come here to get a photo. This is as beautiful as the South Island here in New Zealand. I think people should look after places like this. Do I need permission to get here that is if I can find it and also get there as I am getting over a broken ankle
Some good shots here mate, I've seen a few from here lately & this location has gone into my to do list! Watching this at Heathrow at minute, I'll be without any decent internet for the next 6 weeks! Hopefully meet up again in October!
@@WildLightLandscapes will do and thanks.. Appreciate that. Aiming for before the October half term! Been watching Gavin and Adam for while now hence picking up on your channel. Good luck with it!
@@WildLightLandscapes Found it Paul. Well worth my kit getting wet but the amount of water flowing in late October meant it was a bit sketchy and I couldn't get as far along as I wanted ideally. Plus I was told they had repaired a fence so it's more tricky to get onto that side when the water won't let you cross it. Lovely location though so want to go back. At least the wet weather meant I had it to myself as I'd already met 2 other photographers who had shot it and had to queue!
@@SteveP_2426 Great stuff man yes its a shame it is getting to be such a busy location now but I guess that it is going to happen. Now people are releasing video giving actual directions to it. Which I don't agree with at all but nothing you can do about it.Anyway definitely worth a return visit mate when conditions are better for you as it is such a beautiful location. 😀👍✌
great vlog. I noticed you don't have your 'three legged thing' all the way to the side of the camera. was this just for storage or do you use it in this way.

That's a great mill. Have been waychingbyour photos on facebook. I must go there and take my shot of it.
I live a short walk from the Mill and walk close to it nearly every day. Sadly I rarely take a camera. Often the light is magical.
Stunning location and some cracking shots on both first and second visit.
Thanks man glad you liked them 😃👍✌

You are an amazing photographer!with water will be amazing i am sure, but still looks pretty special even with no water!loved it!

Liked the first image of the mill due to better composition/angle. But, they were all great images.

Thanks Simon glad you enjoyed it mate much appreciated 😀👍✌
that is an obscure place to locate. Otherwise known as the secret mill, until now.

@@smc340uni6 Thanks. Yes I read about it and it´s obvious that the nordic/scandinavian language has had some impact. It is really cool though.
