Hi! I know this is an older video but do you have any links or info on what fitting you installed into the valve cover for the turbo oil return? Thank you so much for making these videos, they are giving me the confidence to tackle this on my 98!
Seeing if anyone has an answer for me. I am using the same uppipe as he is but my turbo is hitting something on the manifold. Did anyone else have this issue? I have a '99 ej222
The intake manifold? It is possible the design for the uppipe may have changed or that was a bad batch. Try putting the coupler on the turbo first and then sitting the turbo on loosely to the uppipe and tighten everything down starting from the turbo down.

@@traviscea that’s great news! Also I forgot to mention that in my previous question that the map based ej22 and maf based ej22 can run by simply interchanging sensors and also interchange the cog gear, intake manifold and the transmissions will bolt up/ work regardless of the year 1992-2001 Subaru Impreza from that time period with the exception of the 2.5 rs. They have a 4.11 to 4.44 depending on the factory gearbox for those versus the 3.9 final drive in the ej22 Imprezas and Legacy’s of the time period. Also found out that you can easily interchange rear disc from the legacy and ej22 from I believe 1995 to 1999. I share this info in hopes it may help others. Cheers 🍻!

Did you have to notch your crossmember to get the uppipe in there?
I used the inferno fab uppipe. No need to notch
@@traviscea That's awesome.
Think its possible to do on a right hand drive? ruclips.net/video/yJkQSKPrsjI/видео.html
How long is the section of oil feed hose you put in the turbo from the oil sensor fitting?
About 4ft
@@traviscea so is the 5ft link for the one that goes into the cab for the gauge?
@@brokecuzofyamomma yep
what did you do to control oil flow to the turbo? too much pressure will kill the seals
Nothing. The ej22 will run the same oil pressure as a wrx. This is a wrx turbo.
@@traviscea ah ok, im getting a ebay vf48 for mine and not sure if i need to do anything to it
did you remove the cruise control module that sits right where the turbo sits? if so, did it throw any lights?
or did you just not have cruise control to begin with?
Removed it. No lights.
@@traviscea nice, so it’s just the throttle cable and a wiring connector? and then i just remove the bolts holding it in?
@@mrsial05 Yep. That is it.
@@traviscea sick. i started gathering parts for my turbo build. got an 06 wrx intercooler for $40 and a td04 with no shaft play for $60
