- I am so unbelievably excited to be finally sharing this with you! It's been a long journey, but a year later, I can finally show you our, new build, empty house tour!!

Thank you for sharing your new home. I remember 60+ years ago moving into my first new home and being as excited and happy as you are. You are going to have so much fun moving in, well maybe not the actual moving things, and decorating. Showing off your wardrobe with your last dress haul was a treat so I kow you did have fun. Oh well, I know what I mea, hope you do too.

Congrats! If you change the flooring downstairs, I'd go for something like a warm, mid toned herringbone wooden floor (or PVC, there are really nice realistic ones out there). Don't go too dark with it as it makes your room look smaller and you can see dust very fast!

What a gorgeous house!! I love the flooring on the lower level. This may be an American thing but can you put a small freezer in tha garage so you don’t have to cut out the cabinets/counters? We have a standing freezer and our old fridge (we replaced it when we redid the kitchen several years ago) for extras in our garage.
I am partial to wood/tile floors but I live in FL which is hot and that helps keep the house cooler which is probably not a concern for you.
One thought on the downstairs bath (we call them a powder room or a half bath) is maybe put the mirror behind the toilet instead of across. Just see how you feel about the mirror placement while sitting on the “throne”.
Great idea! I don’t think it’s typically American, I have a chest freezer in my garage and I wouldn’t be without it. Xx

Congratulations! Stunning property. I have recently moved and have discovered ‘perfect fit’ blinds. They are amazing! If you are good with DIY they are very easy to fit, easy to clean (quick dust with a swiffer!) and a lot more versatile than Venetian blinds. Bonus is they are easy to remove with zero damage, so if you decide further ahead to have different window dressing you can just remove them. For your living area, I don’t know how big the space is, but I thought some shelves and a comfy chair for reading or just relaxing near the window. Some plants maybe and a lamp to create another space to the room. TV and sofas in the other part of the room.
For bathroom storage you can pick up mirrored cabinets in all different shapes and sizes online, some have Bluetooth speakers, LED lights, shaver sockets etc. I have one in my en-suite and it’s great. Fits lots in. I think a shelf and big piece of art I the downstairs loo above the cistern. You know the poster type artwork, depending on your taste. Good luck, it’s a stunning property
Wow what a beautiful house I’m so chuffed for you. My downstairs loo is decorated in pink flamingoes! maybe think about having a chest freezer in your garage ? And also maybe a corner bath for the bigger bathroom. Super excited for you both x
I think you could have a nice L shape sofa in your living room, in the same space you mentioned, then the other part would cut across and you can do the shelving or desk with shelves behind the sofa

It's lovely and I personally love the flooring on the ground floor it's really nice I would put a couple of shelves up above the cistern then you could put baskets on them to store lol rolls and cleaning stuff just a suggestion but it's a livelihoods i bet you can't wait to get in xxxx

I love the floors. This style is very common in Norway. We don't use carpeting like you have on the second floor. It is a very beautiful house and I am sure it will be a lovely home for you😊

Are new homes’ fitted with electric heaters now? I have electric heaters and it’s so much more energy efficient. I’d thought it was old fashioned, so it’d be good to see house builders’ being eco friendly. Enjoy your new home xx

I had a very similar newbuild and kept a large freezer in the garage. I didn't find the kitchen diner warm enough in WInter with just the one radiator but hey ho I feel the cold!

Fabulous house !! You should get a big freezer and pop it in that huge garage, so handy !
I think the wardrobes should have mirrored doors that way it gives you more room plus better light reflection for filming. You then can put the occasional chair over in the far side of the room.
Congratulations! We went from a 1 bed to a 4 bed - it’s amazing having so much space (cleaning 3 bathrooms isn’t much fun though lol)

We move to our new house on Friday, thank goodness as its been so stressful with our two boys who have autism they're 11 and 14 and as we've been packing stuff away the 14 year old was taking it all back out 🤣 lol. Lovely house. Nice finishes. But why no closets in the bedrooms? Here in America, all newer houses have bedroom closets. It actually building code here. Just curious why they are not built into bedrooms there.

Maybe its because I on a budget, but I would wait before changing the flooring, it's very expensive and the longer you spend in the house the more you will see what you want.
I think that is what we have decided to do! We are also getting more used to it now that we have moved in and started to fill the space, so I do think we will end up keeping it for a while at least :)
I would not cut the cabinet to put in a full size fridge freezer. I would cut the cabinet to put in a pantry or leave the cabinet and put an upper cabinet above it for pantry items. I think the above the stove is better for stackable items, you will lose a lot of your cans and jars way up there.

lovely house, happy for you. personally I'd live with the floors, once you put in furniture and rugs you'll cover lots of it, and the black (like the toilet) will show all the speckles of dust or dirt and this one camouflages a lot, seems a shame to rip out a new floor. same for the fridge, put a second freezer if you need it in that garage ;-) just my thoughts of course
I agree - plain black shows every speck. Its very unforgiving!
