The Top 10 Largest Planes Ever Made

- What are the largest aircraft ever to take to the skies? While all thoughts may immediately turn to the A380, we thought we would take a look at the largest passenger jets ever built, as well as transport aircraft and some one-off developments.
There are many ways to measure large aircraft - including length, weight, volume, or wingspan - and while we’ll take a look at all of this, bear in mind, others could easily make the list!

I used to see a 747 and an A380 come into a Pearson airport in Toronto every single day, and always looked forward to seeing them. But like it did everything else, COVID must have grounded them or something because I haven’t seen either in a while
This is now real top 10s. Keep up the goood work
Well I think you should had added the aircraft "Lun-class ekranoplan" in the video. The video was really very good. :)
the EKRANOPLAN isn't really of an aircraft due to it's way of flying using a cushion of air, as it does not flew higher above where ground effect is in effect, so that means the Ekranoplan is more less a fast flying boat that does not flew above ground effect
The ekranoplan is not a plane, but an ekranoplan
Aircraft actually have four dimensions, not three. Span, length, height, and politics.
A well-thought comprehensive video. Thank you Long Haul.

Fun fact: GE90 will remain the king in terms of thrust even after the launch of the GE9x! This is because the GE9X does not has to be as powerful as the GE90 due to the increased efficiency of 777X.
Actually if the GE9x is fully pushed (in testing and such) it does end up creating more thrust than the GE90s. It just doesn’t need to in regular usage
@@DanielR1-MIDI GE pushed the GE9X to 134,300 lbf at their test facility in Peebles Ohio in 2017. A big reason was corporate chest-thumping, so GE could still claim it manufactured the world’s most powerful engine like the GE90 it replaces.
In truth, the GE90 has a takeoff thrust of 115,540 lbf, while the GE9X provides about 5% less or 110,000 lbf takeoff thrust. The GE90 is still the world’s most powerful. The GE9X must be less powerful to be more fuel-efficient, the key selling point of the new 777X for which the engine was designed.
Ban the 777 from the list. It is TINY compared to all the other planes lmfao
Or the very least, it should be at the bottom
It‘s the longest passenger aircraft, or at least longest aircraft intended to fly passengers one day
Other people be like photoshopped plane
uughh those stupid clickbait video thumbnails with some 5 deck A380 mutations with 20 engines photoshopped horribly
you said heaviest comercial aircraft at an 124 what about the a380 and an225?is the 747-8 heavier?
Although its not the biggest(beluga xl) has bigger volume but its the heaviest
Silly request, maybe no one else hears it, but your background music in a lot of these videos has a very strange beeping noise that is a little distracting on headphones. Not sure if you guys can remove that or lower the volume of it, it covers the narrators voice sometimes.
I Think its Your headphones.
It's kinda calming for me lol
It's very annoying, and I'm not even using headphones. I thought there was a truck backing up outside.
I found the sound very calming
How the hell is the 777-9 bigger than the an225?
This video is not ranked, it just shows aircraft which are big or the biggest in a specific category
250 tonnes, wow simple flying
Could you imagine if they retrofitted the 'Spruce Goose' with (8) GE-90 engines?
The 8 engines, side to side, would measure roughly 30 meters across, 30% of the planes wingspan. Together, they would weigh over 70,000, 70% of the plane's 100 tonne engineless weight, and
Those engines would produce 513 kilonewtons/52 tonnes of force, accelerating the vehicle's 170,000kg weight at 2.9 m/s2, or 0.3g. For comparison, The original got A380 gets 0.227, a eurogighter typhoon gets 1.15g, and Space Shuttle got 1.5g at takeoff.
Try GE9X
My science says yes, but my eyes say “these things shouldn’t be in the bloody air!!” … Amazing! 👏
ANTONOV RULES ALL!
🇷🇺🇺🇦🇧🇾
Boo
Never thought that 777 would be bigger than an225 nice video😃
It’s not, the video is unranked and just shows aircraft which are the biggest in a specific category
RIP AN-225
This is called "largest airplanes" and not "longest". The hell
I feel like the stratolaunch shouldn’t count. Technically it’s 2 aircraft put together, so it shouldn’t be considered one of the largest single aircraft.
Also, R.I.P. An-225 😭
Just wondering, are these planes meant to be in order of size, and what dimension if so?
Unranked, all planes are the biggest in a specific category
Well I think the B747-8i is my favorite aircraft mate my number 1 plane.
The number 1 is the AN-225! Everybody who knows anything about the industry knows it!!!
Particularly for MTOW. It tips the scale @ 640 tonnes. That's in thinkable
@@katimboallan4605 Unfortunately the AN-225 has gone forever since I posted this comment last year.
Inclined or micro?
Its sad now knowing the antonov is no longer, bc of russia :( sad times
Sad, no A346.
The H-4 Hercules made A test flight, not “test flights”.
How can the 380 beat the queen of the sky, 747! :(
Volume, maximum takeoff weight, useable payload capacity.
@@saamnourbakhsh2128 Even a 380 at maximum weight capacity cannot fly its maximum range. It’s either payload or fuel. 747 and 777 are never limited in either.
@@JuanUno13 of course not, still the parameters listed make it claim a place before the 747
@@spongebubatz yeah that’s true. I’d add a parameter of performance to this list. Nevertheless a great list!
@@JuanUno13 it can wtf you talking about
Please never, ever use that beeping background noise again. Uber annoying!

I like this channel even tho you are a bit Airbus biased
I don't even think this guy knows enough about aviation to be biased he says what he sees
Nope. Largest plane is antanov an 225
The video isn’t ranked, every aircraft is the biggest in a specific category
@@spongebubatz oh ok now I understand
He will never learn …it’s AN (Antonov) not A.N…… TU…(Tupolev) not T.U….. is this an aviation channel or what? 🤦🏻♂️
It doesn’t really matter
Hes also Airbus biased 🤷🏻♂️
@@EvanAviator sure, next will start pronouncing Boeing as B.O. and Airbus as A.R.? Will it matter then?
@@remi_gio well like he wants to and it's not illegal. And wrong spelling doesn't make this channel not a Aviation based channel.
@@Editorwithchai ….haha… of course it’s not illegal, however it’s not accurate… totally wrong actually… when you claim to be an aviation channel and you are an aviation channel the small amount of research to get the aircraft name is rather essential ;-) …and I am criticising but also help with suggestion. Nothing against the guy (he probably only reads anyway)
