As a football fan this is crazy to watch if we had this referee in football no one would take them seriously. "Don't use that language on the pitch" 😂😂😂
Sure they will be taken seriously after gettin a couple of red cards
It's the culture that makes the difference. How grass roots level sports is officiated is how the professionals will be officiated.
It just takes one ref to be consistent that when someone does anything abusive they're booked, anything.
Luke Pearce definitely went to the Nigel Owens school of refereeing! Has the potential to be the next GREAT referee in World Rugby.
Loved the sly little remark about being in the wrong sport for dives 😂
I’d love to be able to talk to customers who think they can be rude & abusive with no consequences like this!
This is inspiring! Strong men both physically and mentally.
Good open communication, TMO, Transparency. Those are much needed in other sports. I HATE when the refs act like looking down players or worse not admitting their mistakes.
Anyways...We might not be the most paid athletes in the history of all major sports..... But we have something that other sporting franchise don't have...We have RESPECT...Thats more than what money can buy...💪RESPECT OUTWEIGHS CASH
Paaaaaaaaak.....🇫🇯
The most calm, polite refs ever
Rugby Refs could teach Football Refs a lot!
The culture is completely different in rugby to other sports. Respect towards the referee is obtained from childhood rugby. A thugs game played by gentlemen.
One of the best aspects of Rugby and long may it continue. “This is not football “. In truth, football is a fine sport but the way the players react and sometimes treat the Referee is appalling.
Hearing Leone Nakarawa try to defend himself cracked me up 😂. Toso Viti toso!!! 🇫🇯
As a cricket lover. I can appreciate and totally respect rugby for its conduct and keeping it real
Players know the mic is connected everywhere for everyone to hear
Why can't football ref like this for all to hear?
Idk what is going on but not only are the refs super professional, but there is a MUTUAL respect for the game between the players and refs that I find very cool
I hate that commentator for calling Messi a diver. Messi is a great example of how to play football. Extremely well but without diving or abusing the ref. The commentator had absolutely no right to say that about a player who plays a sport that he's never watched in his life
Source please? Professional athelets follow other sports just like evryeone else. Little bit narrow minded from your end of the spectrum.
Messi dives. Maybe not as much as most players but he definitely is no Saint.
Hes just using Messi as an example of a footballer. Everyone knows the name Messi.
Messi dived against liverpool, when barca beat them 3-0 before the famous 4-0 revenge. That is how he got the opportunity to score his insane free kick.
probably some of the best refs in any sport, just because of the way respect is established in rugby.
2:54 that’s worse than a lot of football dives
3:01 The defender should have got a penalty there as he changed his line and braced with the shoulder but if the kicker had of showed an effort to get to the ball rather than take a dive I think the Ref would have awarded the penalty. But the kicker took a dive so he missed out, too bad so sad.
I was at the match, and believe me we let Christophe know he was wrong. It was about the only poor decision he made that week. Calling it a dive when the player had deliberately blocked a run was just plain wrong.
The respect shown from rugby players vs football players is worlds apart.
Football is full of respect; it's just not as widely broadcast as in rugby.
Not only are the refs more confident, but the players have more respect, unlike the overpaid spoilt brats in the premier league, the only thing they have respect for is there bank account.
0:37 should be a rule in football. Only the captain should be allowed to speak to the referee
This is a rugby video so why bring up football?
Two things we need in football: Referees who are as composed and confident like these rugby refs, and players who actually respect the referees...
Ben E. 100% . But its not gonna happen. Sadly enough.😒🤨
And back ten meters for those who need to learn respect
We need this in footie
"wrong game for that", lol. i love it
"This is the wrong game for that" after the dude made a football kinda flop.. lol direct shot at football (european football I mean aka soccer).
Why are most of the comments comparing Rugby to football.. Rugby really has a small sport complex
It’s not the size of the game that matters it’s the spirit and respect that has to be admired
The football bubble will burst and at the moment it is painful to watch and sometimes ugly
The only big difference is of size is that footballers getting payed £150K PER WEEK corespondents to counterpart in rugby on £150k PER YEAR
As an ex- footballer the game now is mainly played by athletes who can play a bit rather than footballers who try to be fit
Some of the main skills have disappeared
True. Rugby has a serious inferiority complex. Why they can't just focus on enjoying their own sport, rather than comparing it to football, is a mystery.
I used to be a rugby referee and I would often take a belt onto the pitch and use it as a weapon if any silly little rugby players disrespected grandson little billy
Iwhat us the situation in 2:09? I didn't get that
1:00 We all know he is talking about football.
It's part of the game. They get taught to respect the ref .
