I’m this video we head back up to North Wales to attend Hampson Auctions May sale! I've got to admit Hampson Auctions is one of my favourites, with such a friendly atmosphere and always a huge variety of classic cars there's not much more you can ask for. One car that stood out to me was the little mk4 fiesta, as you'll see in the video the condition was 10/10 and the car was like it had just came out of the factory. Also I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of classic fords for sale but I have tried my best to record other makes and models too!
Unfortunately when exporting this video the maximum quality it would render to was 720p, so I do apologise if the picture quality is effected. I always try to export my videos in 4k and will make sure this is the case in future.

My mate had a chuvit back in the mid 90’s as his first car. I drove it down a hill and got it up to 80 odd mph, by the time I’d scrubbed the speed off to about 20 mph the brakes had totally faded with the pedal planted to the floor, I’ve never been so scared in my life. Genuinely thought I was going to die in a farmers field 😂

What an auction.
An amazing selection of classics there mitch.
Would have bought that chevette, as i have owned about 12+ chevettes back in the 1990's and done about 150,000 miles + altogether between them all.
A great car that only let me down once with a broken halfshaft.
A great engine that 1256cc was, really smooth when maintained right.
I had a race once with another chevette back in the 90's, only just overtaking it on a road @ 90mph.
mad times lol.

that chevette will be original miles, those engines only did 40k before they were knackered on our hire fleet, whereas the escorts did 70k. the chevvys did wheelspin much better than escorts, due to crap tyres, which also explains why 50% were crashed + written off [then cut/shut by me]
the metro GTA didn't have a turbo, only the MG turbo's did, but they did look nice with all the bodykit as standard [think ST line]
don't like saxos, lost my godson at 17 in one, two weeks after passing his test, soft OSR tyre caused a spin into lamppost @ 40mph, car collapsed like a crisp packet + ripped open. bought my son a fiesta straight away afterwards [ he was also 17]. still going 13yrs later, but a well battered 100k+ running my [sob] 15 inch RS softlines...

Had one of those seat coverings many decades ago @ 11:40 and called them sadomasochist covers.
Supposed to stop you from sweating in the back, which they did, but gave you severe back ache instead haha.

My dad used to have a 1984 volvo 760 GLE. A 2.8l V6 beast. He said the thing drank petrol lile a bath without the plug in but was an amazing car

Brings back good memorys. Used to sell Renaults late 80’s early 90’s. Had a R5 GT Raider as a demo. The alloy wheels on this R5 GT Turbo Raider were not the wheels it came out of the factory with. The 179 bhp is not the standard bhp and this one has been modified. Renault 5 GT Turbos were great cars and we used to sell the Devil exhaust system as an add on. A lot of car for about £11000 new then.
That’s very interesting! Do you know what sort of bhp they were from factory?
The acceleration was insane. But top speed of only about 90 if l remember. Or so my mate said about his.

My mates dad smoked a dark red 70’s chevette or shuv it , once conked out on the a55 and we towed it back 15 miles and apparently went too fast for it he had a heart attack nearly .
Failed the mot so I got hold of a brand new one you needed to fill in if you got stopped by the plod and then 3rd gear fooked so it was a 3speed shuvit , thing was it was reliable albeit a cheap banger he probably paid less than a few hundred quid for in the early 90’s
40k max before the distributor/oilpump died, nobody would hire one till all the escorts had gone out...
Mate killed a shuvet van 3 miles in after the engine was re-build , raged down the M1 only to seize the lill engine . The governor was not happy 😡

No turbo on the Gta metros, they were a stop gap between the Mg metro and the Metro Gti which had the K series engine and 5 speed box.
I was about to put the same mate, I had a gta then a gti mpi but I did like them both tbh

One of my mates had one that was chipped, we were in it and the passenger seat buckled with a sixteen stone lad in it. More bad build quality than the 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. Used to do 140 and it felt like it was going to lift off the ground because t was so light, but the cornering was next level back in the day. four of my mates had reno 5's a raider and black, grey and the best colour cream.

Nice video I think you’ll find the Gta Metro never had a Turbo whereas MG Metro Turbo did and is rarer and worth a lot more and is a lot quicker.
..... It looked like a proper shed to me, manky door cards and seats, "Turbo" stickers on it amongst others... And the roof 🙄... I wouldn't have given five hundred for it, never mind five grand!

Black Mk2 rs2000 recaro fishnet headrests do not have stitched vinyl they are grained one piece plastic no stitching

16:11 I had a 97 mk4 Fiesta 1.25 LX many years ago.
They were a nice driving little hatch, much better than the mk3 1.1 Fiesta that was my previous car.
