    You can’t add some music to the mix in jack there is no speaker output it’s for chaining another KT 10 for double bass only

    Looks like a very well made pedal: but, still sounds loud on the video, and I can already imagine my neighbors still be bothered by the ambient ‘whap/thud’ along with the impact vibrations traveling through the floor. I suspect this is a solution which needs to tried in the playing space to actually determine it’s effectiveness on sound and vibration reduction for your specific playing space.

    • @GooseReviews
      @GooseReviews  9 месяцев назад

      I agree. Wayyy quieter than a bass drum, but still a thud. Situational depending on playing on a concrete foundation vs open floor, sound treatment on walls or not, how far neighbors are, etc

    Im not so sure that my neighbour below won't hear it. I can't tell the actual noise of the pedal through a youtube video, but to me sounds like what someone below could hear. I live in an apartment and i want to be as silent as possible.

      The camera is right up against the pad so that’s like putting your ear right up to it. A better way to understand it is to put it at heat level or sit in a different room and listen.

    Thanks for the review! Can you still trigger the pads of the SPD when the pedal is plugged in? So that you could use your foot for one sound and a drum stick for another. Thanks!

  • @martinburns328
    @martinburns328 3 месяца назад

    Hi, I have a tendency to use the ball of my foot and rest the beater on the kick drum. I am having problems with my Roland KD-180L bouncing and double triggering and I am going out of mind. How do you think this pedal will work with my style of playing? Thank you so much for a response. You seem very knowledgeable.

    • @GooseReviews
      @GooseReviews  3 месяца назад

      I do the same thing. I found for real bass drums, a blanket/pillow solved the bounce back issue for me. Not much you can do for these fully pre built pedal setups, but this model works for me personally. You can see me sticking the beater to the pad in this video quite a bit to gauge it. I personally love how it feels.

  • @wather959
    @wather959 Год назад +1

    How are the vibrations compared to a conventional beater + electric pad stand combination? Unfortunately, my neighbours can hear the vibrations, so I want to have a little as possible of the impact/ footstep sound as possible.

    • @GooseReviews
      @GooseReviews  Год назад

      Roland claims it’s much less but in my experience, it’s probably just 20% quieter than the conventional example you described. I think some foam or shock absorption of some sort under the pedal itself would go a long way

    • @pdxmetal
      @pdxmetal 10 месяцев назад

      Any pedal is going to transfer vibration to the floor; HH, beater kick pedals, even this and the KT-9. What this does is lower the acoustic noise. You'll still want to get a noise eater for the HH and kick pedal.

      I had bought it to minimize the footstep noise but had to realize that it was about as loud as the original.

    • @GooseReviews
      @GooseReviews  Год назад +1

      @@heinerbroeckerSounds about right. It's certainly not silent, but the best noise isolator that I've experienced. You could also try laying some foam under it to remove more reverberance as a lot comes from the floor itself. Let me know if you find any quieter solution that feels as good. Always open!

    • @pdxmetal
      @pdxmetal 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@heinerbroeckerThe ambient noise in this video seems loud to me as well, but cameras accentuate it and is louder than it seems. But if your measuring 66db that is not loud at all for neighbors in an apartment during non quiet hours. I got a noise complaint overnight for watching tv at 45db, but during the day 66db is fine.

    • @justinnaramor6050
      @justinnaramor6050 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@GooseReviews Yeah, manufacturers like Roland in particular are very good at bragging about how supposedly "silent" their drum pads are. The reality is that you will never achieve total silence with electronic drums, because at the end of the day you're still whacking something with a stick or beater (and in the case of the Roland KT10, I guess the foot lever itself is acting as the beater, which when pressed, strikes a velocity-sensitive pad with a piezoelectric sensor underneath). To me, the main benefit of a beaterless pedal like this has more to do with physical space than the volume of sound.

    • @GooseReviews
      @GooseReviews  Год назад

      Fortunately, it’s not like a normal pedal where you switch bass drum beaters to adjust for different weights. It does come by default balanced at a really smooth tension in my opinion.

    • @specialunderwear
      @specialunderwear 9 месяцев назад

      @@GooseReviews yes you can change the weight of the beater 😂 there are 2 brass rods in the beater that can be removed with a hex key and moved to a different position to change the weight and balance of the beater with respect to the spring and it’s position.
