Did you notice that he disbanded the Olympus guilds because of how hard they were being targeted? He didn't want to take responsibility, he said he was a god in Classic, and he always has 25+ around him at any given time, so of coarse people are gonna target his guildies whenever they are seen.
Did he disban? He had the potential to zerg the whole server with all his guilds and do an orgrimmar take over by bringing all the olympus guilds over to orgrimmar.

So as a non wow player what is really the options a player has when killed like that?
You see that ghost with wings he appears at when he clicks the button after dying? You can talk to them and resurrect there (you are severely weakened for 10 minutes and it damages your armor which costs gold to repair) and escape from there. Or you can gather friends up to rescue you. That’s it really

what are the consequences of dying in this game
You spawn as a ghost at the nearest graveyard and have to run back to your body. You can resurrect at the graveyard but suffer a Resurrection Sickness debuff, which makes you very weak for a short time. So it’s easy to camp bodies or graveyards and grief people.

Stopped playing wow because of all the anti-engagement features they put in.
World pvp and server community was what kept me playing..
Blizz took my server and readjusted the BGs to include crap alliance servers and over pop horde servers. The damage blizz did to years of keeping the horde in the surrounding servers with the alliance boot on their neck was uncalled for. The gearing alliance members and teaching them pvp to have have years wiped away by blizzard. Still pissed. Owned horde towns for hours. Still remember ranking dishonorable kills.
It's sad how some people play this game just to be toxic you must be real sad irl..good luck to you
