This was my understanding:
Guy farms for leather. He kills mobs, then brats spam click to skin it out from under him. They're in a petty squabble about price gouging and blah blah.
So guy says, "I'll recruit my friends to help me."
He grabs some of his Horde buds and asks for an escort service.
It works out.
Guy's guildies are all, "We need leather too."
So Guy + his Ally friends team up with his Horde friends so they can get the leather they need.
The people who thought it funny to screw over Guy get all pissy. "Horde collusion, this isn't how the game is meant to be played!"
Kind of a hilarious byproduct of WoW Classic and streamer drama. Good for views. >.> I mean, I just watched a 40min video on it.

If you are selling all the Leather at 20, and there is a "demand" until aq40 drops, and youre dominating the zones and imposing your will. Feel free to buy all the leather at 13 gold and resell for 20 gold. So youre letting the other people make money for you.
Your still losing money on it or having decreased profits and it encourages competition by showing weakness.
I love how this game includes things like collusion, pricefixing, traitors who still guild banks and so much more. Its part of the reason why this game is so amazing because it makes it more realistic. like I get why people get mad about this . honestly in the end this is just a dumbed down version of how massive companies and even countries corner markets and its pretty interesting

How do you think that Unions or the EU was formed. It doesn't work for Devilsaur because there is a huge backlog of leather that diminishes in value when blue pvp gear comes out and because the content allows for players to go straight for Tier sets but IRL there are fewer ways to skip tariffs unless you're a druglord and even then you are living on borrowed time. Unfortunately the EU works. It has completely obliterated outside competition so much that it's turned half of the inside members into Zombie economies that collapse 3 hours after claiming any kind of independence.

Undercutting arguments are always so stupid. Kids knowing nothing of how a free market works. If it was really true that there was this insane demand on leather, then you could just mass buy out and leather under 20 and relist. If you can't then that means value isn't 20.
Your still losing profit on buying it out though. Instead of making 20g you now make 7g. And your guild is spending time fighting for control of the resources. Cutting profit in half like that could easily cause a real cartel/Mafia to collapse.

Again this is based on idea that leather has this limitless demand that everyone is claiming. It not even just mafia people. If this was true everyone on the server would have insentive to buy out sub 20 leather and relist.
Reality is demand is not remotely as high as claimed and actual market value of isn't remotely close to 20g. And that why people don't relist. Because there high chance they would not sell due to demand not being high enough.
@@Emelenzia there's still effort although it may be minimal, and you still need to make money while your not on the AH unless you are sitting on a large sum. plus you are helping other Mafia members or whatever so you are already spending time in Un goro. So if you don't get that leather you are losing money on it because you spent time contesting it and got less or nothing. You can recoup some cost on AH but it's not the 20g you get from controlling the resource.
If they're undercutting by 7g then just buy them out? wtf. Price fixing is not good for the market of the game anyway. It's heavily fined in real life. People will always 'undercut' you, deal with it, don't be babies.
Classic has turned into Eve online. this is EXACTLY what it sounds like. "I want to enforce my will on other people" where have i heard that before. It becomes much easier to understand why power corrupts when even in a video game you want to bend others to your will. Thinking about it, it's really not all that different, you don't know these people but you wanna make damn sure they follow your laws and potentially pay you for the 'right' to farm where you wanna farm whether it be gold, or joining the guild and contributing a portion to the guild coffers.
ALso this really isn't exclusive to these people. if they didnt do it someone else would. It's just human nature. that's why we're all fucked and doomed to kill eachother.

I dunno why they need to even debate this.. Devilsaur leather should always be a free-for-all.. Which ever guild or farm group has the biggest dicks at their disposal, regardless if Horde or Alliance, should always get the leather. So whether if that's done by colluding with the opposite faction.. then it's ok.. because this has always been the real Vanilla experience.. Colluding took place in real Vanilla, it took place on all the Private servers. so that means it should also take place on classic, else it ain't true to the real Vanilla experience.
Furthermore, undercutting creates opportunity for those who can't skin devilsaur to make a profit as well.. and it's a system that controls itself because as soon as someone undercuts, opportunist will buy out the undercut stock and repost it at the correct price and profit.. this is how it always worked. People do it in current wow and people also do it in Classic.. I was doing it myself for items like the greater magic wands back during launch, morons would post them for less than the usual going price and i'd buy them out and repost for profit.

These Cartels change nothing but to guarantee that the devilsaur leather is farmed 24/7, which unless they are storing it on bank alts over 12 months is going to even out the market one way or another. There are worse Cartels IRL. Even if they NEVER sell until the server resets ( or whatever else ) players can skip the set, get the Scholo one or go straight for Tiers or blue pvp.

Those people don't have anything to do except raiding once a week and ganking people from opposite factions. I myself am close to 60 but I loved the game. I already have memories. The game is really good if you play it with your own pace. I think there's plenty to do.

Who cares just fight them or pay the price. I think the behavior is slightly immoral but the fact that it's in game makes it way cooler. It's video game leather not real resources like water etc. I think it would be cool if they made some high level areas free for all though like the arena so you don't have to work with the other faction if you don't want to.

It is against the TOS to give info to the opposing faction in order to grief or deny someone access to part of the game. So collusion is against TOS thus why in the Blue Post they said you can report them for a PVP violation.

They would just repost the lost auctions at a lower price and drive the market down more. The game is still relatively early so the economy is extremely fragile for high level items.
nobody will buy it at 20 golds because players keep spamming the AH with vendor prices. Only broken prices sell atm.

No, servers are overpopulated so firstly the value of every item has dropped massively, secondly grinding spots are overcrowded and it will take you a lot more time getting it (exponentially more on a pvp server). Slow and steady ways are the only viable way right now unless you control the ungoro mafia. Instanced farm in maraudon is also very good if you got the right class for it.
