Should revisit this. Excited to know MSRP and the make up.
Really interesting piece of kit. Looks great for rehearsal with an edrum kit.
Ingenious! Can't wait to get my hands on one.
thanks again sweetwater all these cool vids on namm its like a bought a ticket to the show and only focused on the cool stuff
If they could make a watered down version of these for around £100 a pop they would sell thousands of them. Instant answer for studio recordings, can route to full bands and engineers from one headphone out, insane tech. Just to pricey for a pair that is mainly for tracking rather than a quick throw on for recording
I’m sure they appreciate your expert marketing advice.
That would increase the Latency, weight and reduce quality control.
Is it marketed yet? i can't find it online
This would be perfect for at home rehearsal for me
What is the complete latency? E.g., Wireless Guitar to Yamaha AMP then Yamaha Amp to Wireless Headphones. I.e., there is not just one latency issue occurring.
What if Yamaha released ear buds? Those would be great for headbanging.
whats the ship date anyone know, i reserved a pair
$349 ...a bit out of my price range right now. I would love to use them for my keyboards.
This guy knows what’s up
I love Yamaha but I wish they'd start giving their products a proper name. It's an interesting product but I'll forget WHL500 before I turn off this computer.
Why no codec support other than SBC (no AAC, no AptX or LDAC...) and why limited to Bluetooth 4.2 ?
It's done on purpose to remind us that we are poor. If you want the best model, you have to pay more money.
Both totally non-issues for the average end user.
But why still need an amp
Because you don't want to connect your guitar to the base unit? I don't see where you're coming from here.
The setting looks as if it needs the yamaha thx amp. Or could you skip it and connect the base unit of the headphone to the guitar direct?
@@andychau123 the amp is so that you can play your guitar without a cable. I think it'll work with any amp or an audio interface that has a headphone output.
Semi open…?.. no vocal record!😢
Bluetooth 4.2...? A 9 year old technology that has been updated and replaced 5 times (5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4) since its release 9 years ago! WTF...?!
If you're a true audiophile, you'd just use a cable. The differences an end user will experience between 4.2 and 5.0 is barely noticeable. I guess you'd get farther range with 5.0, but then you lose the higher data transmission and are basically back at 4.2 - and why would you ever be THAT far from your amp in headphones? Honestly, a bit of a non-issue.
Thats for Aux Inputs, like a backing track, not the Instrument signal which is not Bluetooth, that Digital Wireless.
The Bluetooth is only for importing backing tracks from your phone or PC to play along with. The actual instrument audio is some sort of wifi signal that supposedly has only 4ms latency.
@dilesmavis1196 tell me how you don't understand innovation without telling you how you don't understand. And talk like a limited pretentious purist uncreative bounded absolutist music theorist who ironically only recites and replicates overrated Foo Fighter rifts...
Yeah, we see you
