some of you may not know but okiku is a japenese haunted doll which hair grew. In 1918, a young man purchased the doll that would later-on claim the name of okiku. He gifted it to his 2 year old sister. Okiku was quite beautiful and unique doll she liked it so much that she slept with it, played with it and enjoyed every moment with her.but after a year that 2 year old girl died at her funeral her parents said to bury that doll with their daughter put they didn't so hey kept okiku with them as a she reminded them as their daughter but one thing was strange, sometimes okiku apperead in their dreams and they heard some weird voices the doll's hair was growing very fast then she was given to a priest and okiku is now present in a temple runned by a priest. The priest agreed that the dolls hair grew and now she is in the temple but year by year her smile and her mouth are bigger and bigger they say if anyone dared to stare her she will grew a nasty gummy smile
I thought there must be a ton of Japanese folklore that this show references that goes right over my head, but I never would've guessed okiku would be one of them. Thanks for sharing
