Using Shared Styles in Sketch

This styles can be saved in Sketch as "Shared Styles" not only to be reused quickly but also to keep objects in sync with one another. If one changes, they can all change.

When you do effects like letterpress, are those being exported as bitmaps? Or does SVG or CSS3 allow for such offset shading?
I am desperately looking for a way to complete delete/remove shared styles. Do you know how it can be done?
