I've spent the day learning this song. After watching a few tutorials this morning, I gave up with that approach as they were all inaccurate and sounded wrong. Instead I painstakingly listened over and over to the track to figure it out. Then I found your tutorial, and I can say with confidence that it's the only one out there that is truly spot on!!! Wish I'd found it earlier as would have saved me a lot of time! And I think the way you teach is great too, especially for all the chord geeks out there. Needless to say I'm now subscribed. Thank you!! :-)
In high school I used to watch this tutorial religiously and play over an over in my high schools practice rooms during lunch. I looked for the video again and I’m glad I found it. Going to relearn!
I've been trying to learn to improv/play by ear while learning pop songs for so long, but have been having so much trouble. I'm a music reader, but improv by ear is just too frustrating so I always give up and fall out of the habit of practicing. Melodies by ear are fine, but I want to gain a better intuition for chord structures and their relationships. I'm SO glad I found this video. I think your teaching style is exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks!!!
my favorite part of the song is that little G dim chord in the chorus (i guess its the chorus). gives me goosebumps lol. thank you for such a detailed tutorial!
Think ive commented on a couple times on stuff but thought id take the time to say a massive thanks! For my purposes the format of your tutorials is spot on, learning about chords from popular music has improved my composition no end and made lesrning new stuff straightforward, accessible and fun. Cheers!!
Hi piano couture I really love all your toutorials they are really helpful fro learning to play my favorite songs but would it be possible for you to a full toutorial of everglow by Coldplay as there is no full videos on it
Thank you very much... I'm not very well in reading piano sheet but with your piano tutorial I understanded and learned how to play this beautiful song. Fabiola
this is such a good tutorial! i've been looking for a channel like this for years!.. thank you for the time for sharing this... AMAZING!.. liked and subscribed!
Technically, the B/D# is a Cb/Eb, and the Eadd9 is an Fbadd9 since the key is Abm (7 flats - Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Cb, Fb). Either that or the key signature could be B/G#m which has 5 sharps. Awesome tutorial in any case :)
thank you,,,,,,it really helped----have a rehearsal in 2 hours and just didnt FEEL like going through all that trouble,,,,,lol you are quite the tutor-----NO EGO,,, you are so honest and you sound great thanks again for helping me cheat HAHAHA~~~~!!!!
I just had a quick question. When it be easier to think of this song in B Major/G# minor as opposed to the Ab you demonstrated? Great tutorial, spectacular song
dont be mad at me this is just a question,,,,what made you chose the flat key signature over the sharp.. without thinking i chose the sharp..was i wrong for doing that? THere were so many Bmajors that made it sound like thats where it would resolve,,,,,you know what i mean?,,,,i did it in the key of B
super awesome tutorials there .. can i request a song.. pleeeaaaaseeeeee.. I'm begging you! can you do a tutorial for the song "Terrified" by Katharene McPhee...
Complicated. Half the time I don't know what's being said and it seems only those with the same level of knowledge as the instructor can understand what's being said. Pretty pointless for a tutorial that is supposed to cater to those with less knowledge than the instructor.
this is probably one of the best tutorials I've ever seen on youtube. Very well done.
Piano Around the World Thank you so much! :)
+Piano Around the World what about dpsm's verson

Would you like to learn us 'pretty Brown eyes' from Cody simpson
Imperial march- star wars please
This version is harder than the other videos I've seen
9:04 dont mind me, just practicing.
(I like your hands.)
the 4th chord on the left hand should be a B
F# in the bass? You mean Gb.
My man. Sick tutorial. But my lord. Either the song is in B or in Cb! Quit mixing them sharp and flat names, lol
wouldve been good to do it in an easy key
you lost me at a flat minor
