    Hell....I've been loading and shooting 130's in my 30/30 for over 35 years. Works great and killed over 40 deer with them. Mainly with my T/C

    It seems like all the tests I’ve seen with tui ammo it always begins to tumble way deep into the block.

    I smile when wife asks why I take 30-30 and not 30-6 or soccom 16.its my go to in Michigan for walkabout or swampn.im 68 and it's taken many deer from 20 to 100+yds.

    So what is the benefit of it? What makes it special? The hornady FTX 160 gr gets the same velocity out of my 94, shoots tighter groups and does more damage to the gel block, from what I've seen in your video. What about your ammo, makes it better?

      You're exactly right. What is the USP (unique selling position) in real world hunting situations? Does it make a more lethal hunting bullet? Show results!

      @@davida.4933 I've taken 5 antelope and a deer with the hornady 160 gr lvr bullet. It has performed as well as, and better than most of the other 36 calibers that I have hunted deer sized game with. My experience with the hornady 30-30 ammo was impressive and left nothing to be desired. It definitely impressed me more than the 6.5 creedmoor did.

      That 130gr projectile is the lightest project I’ve ever heard of for a .30-30!!!
      I’ve hunted and shot 165, 175, and 185gr projectiles from a .30-30!!!
      You get a good ole thump of recoil from the 185gr and the felt recoil drops as the weight of the projectile goes down!
      I’ve also fired a .17 caliber sabot varmit round out of my.30-30 before, but it was so long ago that I can’t remember what the felt recoil was like for that round!

    I have never seen an AD where there is no information about anything. No distance given, No close ups of new AWESOME bullet. I even wondered is this was real or a joke. You didn't know how to even load a round in the chamber.
    WOW. I have been handloading 130gr bullets in 30-30 for years, Speer 130gr Hot Core. 125gr Serria Pro Hunters.
    135gr Hornady FT. Speer 130gr HP, all these have done what I wanted.

      I ordered , what I thought was Speer 130 gr FN
      Turned to be spire pointed projectiles… I just made my 336 a glorified 2 shot
      One in the chamber..one in the tube
      3 deer in the freezers that season

      Every lever action tube-fed rifle can run the pointy bullets so long as you are a very conscientious person and make sure it's only a 2-shot rifle (1 in chamber and 1 in magazine) and make sure that pointy bullet feeds through the action.

      I was wondering about this too. Their .357 ammo says “NOT FOR USE IN TUBULAR MAGAZINES”, but I didn’t see that same cautionary statement on their box of .30-30. The .30-30 projectiles have a narrower point than the .357 too! Like someone said above, to be safe I guess you ought to just keep one in the mag only….

    How many states are these legal to hunt with
    I know it’s not a FMJ but trying to explain that to a game warden checking guns and ammo at a checkpoint would be a bit difficult

      It's a specific rifle, with a specific chamber, with a specific barrel throat and bore, and a specific casing they loaded their bullet into. Way too many parameters to assume it's going to be the same with every lever action rifle.

  • @joshbradley61
    @joshbradley61 10 месяцев назад

    This didn't really sell me. All the money you spent on that gel test. And you can't do a slow-mo or get more than one angle of it. I don't know what your distance was. But that doesn't seem like a very good group For indoors on a foundation.

    Far as I know tumbling bullets do NOT expand. That means they are illegal to hunt with.

    • @exothermal.sprocket
      @exothermal.sprocket Год назад +1

      Under a given caliber I suppose. A hard cast bullet out of a .45-70 doesn't need to expand to rip a large hole through a critter.
