Usually, the "Johnny vs Asuka" matchup is lopsided in favour of Asuka, and Johnny has to play patiently and wait for openings.
On that day, however, Kazam decided screw that, he wants to ball. And ball he did

Asuka is a mystifying character...
According to Gobou, this match-up is slightly Asuka-favored - however, Gobou seems to find it so vexatious, that I've seen him play only 1 game, then no re-match vs. Johnny players. Moreover, if you're using Case 2 or Case 1 as Asuka, this match-up becomes Johnny-favored, according to コメコメ (a top Case 2 Asuka player).
As for Asuka "out-zoning" every character: My apologies beforehand if this comes across as rude, but aimed with the fact that I’m uncertain what floor you play on in this game, I will try to keep my post short. However, I would like to let you know that Asuka is not a zoner, and therefore, has a lot of trouble vs. actual zoners - or characters with good zoning capabilities - such as Axl, Chaos, Bridget, and to an extent, Bedman? - once the Asuka player gets their offense started, then none of that matters, though; but Asuka does not start off out-zoning every character in the game - unless you let him by blocking, rather than breaking the cubes. Which is why after it being nerfed to oblivion, Chaos still has an advantage in the Chaos/Asuka match-up - as due to the slowdown of the cubes, getting started vs. a strong Chaos player has only gotten a bit harder (the nerf was deserved, but that's not my point); and once a strong Chaos player begins their offense and zoning game, you generally have to use your system resources and mechanics to gain your turn back.
