It was a great weekend for fighting games, not the least of which is because Arc System Works revealed Slayer as the final character of Guilty Gear Strive Season Pass 3, and we got a release date for him, too. The dapper vampire is bringing tea time with Sharon, batty misdirection, and hard-hitting fists to Guilty Gear Strive at the end of May 2024.
Slayer was officially revealed with a release date for Guilty Gear Strive during EVO Japan 2024. He is set to arrive in Guilty Gear Strive alongside the new wintery stage Amber Fest with Kind Neighbors on May 30, 2024. Slayer looks more stylish than ever, wearing his coat over his shoulders and letting loose with the his Mappa Hunch straight punch, Blooodsucking Universe command grab, and Dandy Step feint-dash that leads into many of his other attacks. From that step, he can still crush opponents against the wall with Pile Bunker, but he also has overhead and anti-air actions out of the step.

and when the raging demon kills the opponent literally flies the entire way round the planet instead of bouncing around, yeah i think they portrayed his strength pretty well
They fly around the world when it doesn’t kill as well. It’s just that they continue to bounce around after they fly around the world.

They still fly around the planet if they don't get killed, but he just "gently" elbows them on arrival which causes the bouncing.

Did something happen to the budget? All of a sudden these victory screens have actually been cool rather than just the character saying something as the camera pans them. Since Elphelt we have had cooler and more detailed win screens.
I think this is a mix of them finally learning to master the game's art style + the fact that the original characters were made during the Pandemic, which greatly affected the game's animation.
I'd argue that the previous win screens have also been really good even if not super over the top.

Nago was at full blood so he was much lower defense
in the starter guide we see a nago at zero blood gauge take 70% from it, chipp's gonna fucking explode
Asuka with no mana is gonna disntergrate into tiny cubes and float away
@@sporetv57 I saw someone do the math and supposedly just from looking at it, Asuka will actually be one-shotted with no mana.
Neat little detail, it looks like Slayer puts more effort into blocking as his Risc gets higher. Not sure if anyone else does that.
good eye, haven't seen that for any other character.
@@dingleberryliespewer3177 ABA and Paracelsus both have their facial expressions get more worried as their RISC gets higher, as well.
Everyone has the "more effort while blocking" type of animation, It's just that most of them are not as animated and noticeable as Slayer's.

Similar to Cagliostro in GBVS, the longer Slayer has to block the more pissed off he looks and starts using his other hand.

Someone did the math and found out that if Askua has no mana, he'll simply just get one shot by raging demon, Chipp also loses around 89% of his health. This character is cooked, I love it.

Yes... yes he did. The power of burning 100% tension on one very... very powerful move
without anything it deals approximately 65%-70% of nago's health according to the starter guide, which in turns equals something of around 294 damage IN ONE MOVE and it's on Nago that has a 3% damage reduction, so on ky it deals around 303 damage.... or 380 damage on chipp, without any counterhits, scaling or whatever

It would be a great missed opportunity to not include young slayer as a secret code alt costume... but so does the almost naked variant... decisions decisions, i mean modders will make both either way since both are pretty much have the same rig (SMH is even easier tho because it's still the same face). The only problems i think would be the young slayer's face... might be a problem animation wise

The victory screen is a Haiku, please tell me it is still random like in Xrd
In the other gameplay reveal video, Slayer wins two games, and different haikus show up on the screen during his victories. So yes, it is probably still random.
