You’re probably the first person I’ve seen that has made mistakes and made videos on what to do to correct them. Other producers point out the trap and assume you haven’t gotten to that point. For those of us who have made mistakes and are struggling in the mire, your videos are a godsend and make me feel so less isolated, that I’m not the only who has made mistakes and there are ways of fixing mistakes without having to throw cash at the problem. You’re a big reason for that. Thank you. 😊👍🏼
I recommend that when you are about to tier up a ship and you are out of speed ups, take all officers out and you can use on other things, away teams etc.
yep, I find myself doing this now even if I know I have the speedups to tier - just in case I am wrong and end up losing a whole crew of officers for days. Gotta be a secret Scopely monetization strategy to get people to buy lat and speedups if they tier up without making sure they can complete it instantly! 😂
I have often tried to make some sort of sense of this in my mind. Like, this ship is busted from combat. Wait, don't let anyone go on shore leave until it's completely repaired. They literally can't do their jobs right now but they should stay here. Who cares if there's been a whole break and their whole deck got vented into space?
Thank you very much @Charles Riley, glad to be of service and tell all of server 75 that Halfdan send his love and regards from server 62 to all your awesome players for being a part of this game we a enjoy (most of the time 😅)! 🖖
Officers. Hit up them common recruits. Mine everyday. Do your dailies. Be efficient. Time it so you are doing multiple tasks with 1 ship. Hostile hunt, faction daily, or swarm. Set your miner where it will not zero before the reset. Do your swarm first, that kills you take care of five dailies at the same time.
Really good vid mate. I just found you, I'm glad I decided to watch. This will help a lot of newer players. I look forward to watching more vids from you. Keep up the good work!!!
Glad you enjoyed! Hoping to ramp up my schedule to be able to release 3-4 videos a week but I don't want to sacrifice quality so if 2 is all I can manage so be it. 😅 Thank you for your kind and encouraging comment my friend. 🖖
There is no end game to this, so you have to make a plan and go from there. No point rushing to lvl60 if you can't do anything when you get there. You're right about the ships. Don't build ships that you don't need. 3* resources are hard to get so don't waist them on pointless ships. Don't stop mining and refining the 2* gas and crystal as you can build Turas' and Envoys with them and scrap them for 3* resources.
Station leaderboards are best avoided. Resources are not limited to the upgrade materials...the opportunity to spend them is a resource as well, and you have to manage that just as strictly as you do the materials. You will almost always have more research available than you will building upgrades. Participating in station leaderboards will lead you to the situation you described at the start of your video...a rushed Ops level upgrade. Either that or you'll run out of buildings to upgrade and you'll sit there looking at the daily you can't collect while you catch up your research because you rushed your buildings for a leaderboard with mediocre rewards. I don't mind if one or even both of my builders are inactive, but I want to ensure I can complete one (and only one) building upgrade per day to collect the speedups from the daily task. Another reason to avoid station leaderboards is when arc events come around with better rewards, you might not have the resources to get what you want from them. It's a risk I'll sometimes take with daily research milestone events, but never station upgrades. You can't finish every event without paying, so you have to pick and choose the events that give the best return on your investment.
I find myself agreeing with this more the higher Ops I reach. I pretty much only pick up one build a day for the daily or rush something if I can knock out the Heroic Station Event to get the extra recruit tokens pretty easily. Otherwise, slower is better on the building. Research is the complete opposite though.
I would add that the Northstar is a great miner long term. I didn't get my horizons past t5 until ops 32+ due to how fast the northstar was, and as long as you have good protected cargo officers, t4/t5 horizons are fine since speed doesn't matter much when mining overnight. I agree the active mining the northstar can be a pain and isn't for everyone, but I still use it sometimes at Ops 37. It still great for times you forget to do dailies / at war / mining events etc. Note that the healthy mining bonus does not show up in the UI so it's quite a bit faster than the tooltip shows if you have stacked health on it. I would skip the d3 until much later when you're ready to scrap it for primes.
Absolutely correct. I still use my NS in a pinch to quick-mine G3 resources. 7/10 helps the Healthy Mining tremendously as well. And I had approached the tier 1 faction ships from the mindset of "well if the D3 is worth scrapping at Ops 34 then surely it's good to just get it and be ahead when the time comes..." very wrong! The baby jellyfish and the D3 class are the two ships I regret building the most so far (though the D3 will eventually pay off as you've said).
Great that you are helping newer players out. Still, is A way, but not the ONLY way. 😀 For an active f2p in an active alliance, you can rush plenty. Focus only on maxing a Talla and Envoys. Then move towards a Vahklas till T6-7 (T7 is quality of life improvement). Make sure you can do your daily's while you go towards ops 27 as fast as possible (ops24 will take some time unfortunatly). The base income of uncommon g3 by refining, arc, events make it viable. So you can't win all events. Then just camp at 27 until you can build your 28 factionship to atleast T5 in one go while leveling up, while fixing everything you are behind on. Note: this isn't detailed enough, didn't mention the musthave research either, but you get the point I'm sure. It just requires more knowledge and planning.
If you're going to go the "rush" route you should definitely have any of the research that increases "efficiency" and/or reduces the resource/material/parts cost for everything (research, repair, buildings, ships, etc).
@@Secure_Play Completely agree, might be cool if you made a video on that down the line (no pressure). Basically most teach new players the saver route, for obvious reasons. But higher tier players, even new to the game, can handle a rush tactic of explained well.
If you are active in the game you need your dilithiam, titanium and parasteel maxed. You will burn through resources with ship repairs and research real quick. When you are using millions of tokens at a time they go fast.
I agree with everything you said. Im at lvl30. When i got to lvl 30 my sally was around 750k. Very weak now its 1.075 mill tier 6. Uncommon g3 are a bitch to get. I made the mistake of trying to grind out to lvl30 fast. I did but i was quit weak. Now im probably 2nd or 3rd strongest player at lvl30. I have 22 more days left till i fully build all buildings to lvl 30 than i will need to level up. Im about 80% done with research aswell.
Some say STFC is "a marathon, not a sprint" but it seems to be more a marathon made up of HIIT style sprints. Which server do you play on my friend? I might start a new account on another server soon to hangout with some people.
great video going to post on my discord, I thought being in the top alliance and pushing my OPS up would carry me, and it did I was still able to raid and help my alliance immensely even though I was drastically underpowered for my level I also pushed for 25 for Vidar/Territory research, then 26 for Faction ships, then 27 because I already had lvl 26 shipyard (might as well I thought), then 28 for Saladin and drydock, then 29 because I already had a lvl 28 shipyard (might as well I thought) then 30 for the 5 man armada control center, then 31 for my ultimate goal the Amalgam since it had recently released then I looked back and realize I had about 3 or 4 tier 2-4 ships that all required 3* uncommon crystal and no great path to flesh them out other than moving on I had fallen into the Trap Scopely laid out for me
Stock pile UC crystal!! Miner ships(horizon/faction, Vidar Saladin(if you choose) are crystal pigs!! Build and scrap envoys constantly. Also if you are pushing feds for the enterprise(build and scrap Tauras')
Ok learning to camp is a good idea I'm on my third time through I'm using lvl21 as a camp point and building and scraping envoys and maxing my first faction to first lock I started it at lvl12 my northy is maxed I'm also building and maxing a mix of the other 2 star ships as well as I know at scrap yard 25 u get 2 blues each for them as well officers officers officers focus on them they are forever braking your week up for mining is a good idea very close to first lock have lvl 26 and lvl28 ships open its taken 10 weeks to get to here in 10 more will b well on the way for my next 2 factions plan your game work your plan power over speed

The good news about the D3 is that you'll need to "max" (or near max depending on research preferences) and scrap one around Ops 34 to get the G4 materials for a bunch of Prime researches so it's not a waste, it just takes a while to pay off.
Heya Cory! Apologies that I'm just now seeing this. Is this still an issue for you? If so I'll do my best to help you out my friend. And thank you for checking out the channel! 🖖
Currently you can't have more than one ship in the shipyard's build queue at a time (though I'm sure it'll be a paid addition before long). I believe in this video we're referring to spending your uncommon and rare materials on too many different ships at once instead of completing one before moving on to the next.
Cultivate a strong raid game and good shield discipline, it will make going up in ops level so much easier and you can never have enough of any resource. The cost become exponentially worse from ops 30 to ops 40 and unless you are raiding regularly you won’t be able to increase without buying packs
100% agree. I always purchase my upgrades with other people's resources and hold on to all the resource tokens I amass for recovery if my shield discipline lapses. I always "size up" my shields over that I think I will need and that has helped tremendously for those times when life happens and you don't make it back when you originally planned.
