Find out what Brandon Routh (aka Todd Ingram) thought about my Scott Pilgrim set and LEGO Ideas deeming it inappropriate. ruclips.net/video/-rglvHMsZrI/видео.html
Fight the power yo, keep summiting it and summit it from different accounts until it passes. There is ZERO reason for them to shoot it down! When you get it through I will vote for it!
This is such a terrible experience. I am so sorry. I have no idea if you remember me from the last video (why would you), but as I said last time, your LEGO set was one of the best customs I’ve ever seen. Scott Pilgrim has the same amount of violence and profanity as Pirates of the Caribbean. I hope that you will somehow find a way to sell this set. It’s such a shame that LEGO won’t even allow it. I am so sorry for this. I am just so sad that this won’t be allowed. This set is so amazing, and if you ever do decide to go to a knock-off company, or even one of those private companies that sell custom LEGO sets, I will definitely buy it.
Please keep trying. I know it’s disheartening but this set would be absolutely amazing if it is approved. It’s such a fantastic set for an absolutely fantastic movie and comic book series.
I totally agree with you. The only thing I can think off. The movie/story plot is a guy fighting 7 people to win a girl. And Lego sees it as using a woman as an price/object. While the Big Bang Theory and Friends is the main plot: A bunch of friends hanging around. But come on Lego. If Scott Pilgrim is not allowed. Why was lets say Lord of the Rings allowed. Way more violance and such.
Dude..... As much as I love LEGO and the idea of LEGO Ideas, hearing this hurts, and I can hear how disappointed you are. Bounce back buddy, keep MOC'ing you've got awesome ideas and skills!
No please!!! I want this set regardless if LEGO allows it or not. LEGO seems to have lost their mind if they arent allowing this. Theres gotta be a way you can still sell this? Id buy two of them
Maybe it's because the Blues Brothers sets are just the car? Technically your set is set IN Gideon's bar/ nightclub. Maybe tweaking the set to not be in Gideon's would help?
Like it has nothing to do how boring this set looks? Problem is not theme, but set itself. When creative person pours hours and hours work for his idea, he becomes blind to end result.
yeah cause there's totally not alcohol, sex (or at least mentions of it), or violence in other lego ideas sets. totally not that kind of stuff in Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Big Bang Theory, Friends, yeah totally not anything like that
I once tryed to make a Ben 10 set and it wasn't approve because of sex nudity and drugs and thus I deleted tevery Lego ideas thing that was related to me. I know how you feel
I just discovered this set, and it's one of the best MOC builds I've seen in a loooong time, from one of my all time favourite franchises. Well done man, this is amazing. It's super unfair that they won't consider it. There are so many other mature sets out there, including the new official Stranger Things set which has FAR more violence and explicit language. You'd be totally justified to keep fighting it, but I understand that it's probably quite demanding to do so. I hope this isn't the last we've seen of this set, I'd pay so much money for it if it were to be released officially. Or unofficially.
to be honest, i believe lego is hiding the fact that it is more a licencing issue, i remember reading that the people who have the rights to scott pilgrim have a long and ongoing issue with allowing people to create stuff with their character, funko pops took 2 years to finally approve the build of scott piligrim figures, i believe lego doesnt want to take this long to try and figure if they can approve this idea. for example friends and the big bang theory, they instantly respond giving approval to the lego ideas, so i think they want to avoid trying to approve this as it will take time for the people who have the rights to approve it and because you have follower the submissions and upvotes to get the thing to start up i believe it would happen quick, but to release it can give people headache as the legal issue. but i believe you should try and pursuit this more, understand why, maybe they have a better reason, all those 3 point i didnt see in your build so idk why this is happening and if it is the legal issue idk why they arent saying it.
Don't give up it just takes time they're just going through no thought process it's probably just maybe they like those other property's and not Scott Pilgrim, and if anyone in this comment section is able to talk to lego ideas then please ask the concern of the matter also tell them that Ghostbusters has a lot of smoking, swearing, and maybe sex well sex references but CutTheKragle I hope that this will become an idea
I think its more about the movie rather then the build. Scott Pilgram is a great movie, but it has its moments that LEGO wouldnt do. Some not kid-appropriate moments
@@yoloig1871 The Big Bang Theory sets resembles a display while the Scott Pilgrim idea looks more like a playset with its bright colors and Ninjago-esque weapons. Of the two, which would most appeal to a child? Most likely the latter. There is likely the reasonable concern that a someone who is too young for some of material explored in the film or the comics on which it is based to view or read them respectively. Also, some adults might interpret it as LEGO supporting some of the things included in them -- one of particular note being Scott's relationship with Knives.
@@TheOctoPirateCustoms You've brought this up before in the comments on my previous video but let me be clearer... There is nothing wrong with Scott's relationship with Knives.
TheOctoPirate yes maybe the Big Bang theory set is more of a display however you could look at sets like the ghostbusters and back to the future which appeal very much to children and both those movies have smoking alcohol and references to sex so I think denying Scott pilgrim is still really unfair on legos part
Don’t give up, try again. Address this hypocrisy directly to LEGO, if this set deserves to get made. You spent a lot of time and effort into your pitch and I hate how they shot you down for no good reason. I do not have a doubt in my mind this would get 10,000 supporters
I really hope they quit their bullshit and let you publish this. I would LOVE to buy this set! Especially with the minifigures! I know you said this was the last time you'd talk about the matter but please try to get this more attention. It's unfair and I'd love to see this set published.
Here what I think the problem is It's not based on something popular Scott Pilgrim VS The World isn't as popular as _F.R.I.E.N.D.S_ or Big Bang Theory or The Blues Brothers Hell even the Shaun of the Dead set got far before being denied The only exception seem to be based on popular stuff so if it's popular they'll make a exception becuase they know it will make them money I'm not saying this is what going on but, it probably is And if it is, it spells out doom to most ideas people are making based off something that has those 3 points, want to make a idk Final Destination set? NOPE! how about a Tokyo Ghoul set? NOPE! Unless it's currently popular it probably won't be allowed
Lego should be honest: :The set looks great, but the buying audience is to small for us." Your set would be in the 60€ + range considering the amount of parts and minifigures. So if you create smaller sets, they maybe will make them. What about: - Scott vs. Ex (2 minifigure Sets with fighting "plate".) Collect all 7! ;) - Big Set: Scott at home with Ramona and Wallace. (Big Bang Set Style) I think this way would create more buyers, too. Now more people can affort a set.
I might accept that reason, just a case of them thinking the market for this is too small, if it reached 10K supporters and they decided not to go ahead with it. To be honest, I never dared to hope they would make it into an actual set. My dream was to reach 10,000 supporters! But where would the harm being in allowing this to go live then? LEGO Ideas aren't even allowing this to go live when there are plenty of submissions on there that would never sell.
Well, maybe its because the girl ex's (dont remember her name, roxxi or something?) breast is almost falling out of her jacket in your design? U could make her figure more covered or something (I know that isnt the case in the movie, but you are looking for a reason they don't approve, so that one is pretty obvious to me). Also this is a scene where gideon enslaves ramona with a chip if I remember correctly? It may be a theme that in today modern times they don't want to touch? I think unfortunately the duel in skateboards with lucas lee would be more plausible for lego to release, or scene with battling the twins with music monsters - that could be a cool set and you could have gideon and ramona there in the crowd. Those are two possible sets, that I could see lego release from this movie. Other scenes feature female characters getting punched hard (that one with knives getting hurt by gideon, and other scene with todd smacking her), and I think lego may feel uncertain releasing something from scenes that feature that kind of violence (superman hitting girl? xP). That is my reasoning for this, although I may be wrong. This is what I read from the sets they release, they are mostly neutral, and more colorful. Your set has evidently more mature tone (it seems so at the first look) with dominating red and black colors and characters are not so goofy or characteristic and could be anyone in the streets if u havent seen the movie. They may be worried because of it it wouldnt sell, cause kids wouldnt get it or something. Fans will enjoy it, but I think for someone who hasnt seen the movie it may seem for first look like nothing worth interest, or even weird maybe. Dunno, just my opinion, if youre looking for some.
Dude what you should do to still make money off of this is sell the instructions online I know I would totally buy it please if you have any sanity you would do this
Ironic how this was rejected due to profanity, sex and violence; since other movies (xmp: Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Star Wars, Marvel, DC, etc.) also had some of those!

I don’t care if your bitter and resentful, your perfectly justified. Personally I wouldn’t let this go.
Thanks man :-)
Gosh that stinks. I would support this in a heartbeat. I feel your pain. The regulations for submissions are a huge pain.
The more evidence revealed the more unfair it gets
I know right!

This set is cool as hell man. Hope you can get this resolved.

I feel like the mini figures should be based off of their Graphic Novel counter parts. Think of how perfect it would fit with the shape of the heads.
It looks sick dude!
Is there anyway we would be able to purchase it through like bricklink or something like that?

I think LEGO just did that because they thought it wouldn’t sell .
I remember back when the movie was released (I was 12 at the time) I wrote a letter to Lego asking if they would make Scott Pilgrim sets.
Maybe you should try luck now that stranger things is in LEGO And has a ponderation of 16+ in the LEGO box art

blues brothers lego set makers: we’re on a mission from god
I don’t use LEGO really anymore but I’d buy this just because it is just so cool
Sucks because I’m working on a Akira set and I don’t think it’s gonna get approved
Something similar happened when I tried to submit a set based on the cabin from The Evil Dead.
But deadpool also came in a set, deadpool comics include
Sex, nudity, drugs, alcohol, smoking and swearing as well
Cause Disney
It was before the movie
And murder
