The first year my husband I were married , I put out our stockings. Christmas morning came and my husband stocking was chocked Full but mine was empty. my husband got all flustered and said he didn’t realize we actually filled the stockings. He thought they were just decoration the funny part about the story is he actually went to a pantry and started digging through for old candy and put it in my stocking, which was much more offensive than just not putting anything in the stocking to begin with. Every year since then he makes a big production about. He’s going out to get things for my stocking he will never ever forget. Lol I’m so excited for your new little one. That is such a blessing thank you for bringing me joy when I watch as I’m just getting in to cross stitching and your patterns so hopefully I’ll have a finished project soon… I’m slow.😊
My favorite Christmas memories was having Christmas dinner. Growing up my dad was an infantry platoon sergeant in the army and I thought everyone had 20 extra people besides family for Christmas dinner. My mom would cook an amazing feast (usually a large ham and a substantial turkey) and we would make stockings for the soldiers who were coming over so they at least had one present. The soldiers who came either didn’t have anywhere to go for Christmas, or weren’t able to leave to see family for whatever reason. My mom would make sure that all the soldiers called their families to wish them a merry Christmas and get caught up with family, back in the spray of paying long distance fees. My mother always said family was most important and treated my dad’s soldiers like extended family. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7

She loved wrapping gifts, would put tons of stuff on layaway 2 months beforehand. We always had a tree, artificial or real. When she died, it took the wind out of our sails. So to breathe life back into the holidays, I found a scraggly pinon pine on a friend's ranch that just matched our emotions, the kind of tree that had the side you would face toward the wall😁I brought it home and decorated it. It was like the tree that could, and we realized that we could go on with our lives without her. That tree was a turning point. Thanks Chelsea and Priscilla. Your last words were touching and heartfelt😢❤

Here is a good story. So our sons birthday is the 26th. So on Christmas my husband went to get a motorcycle we got for his birthday. My youngest daughter, myself and our son went out so my husband could bring it home and he wouldn't see it. We have goats and a great Pyrenees/st Bernard that is an outdoor dog. My husband had put a turkey in the smoker while we were gone. He got home first, called me and said, hey, are you still in town. The dog and goats got the smoker open and ate the turkey! 😂😂
2, 4, 6, 7 -When we were little we had to wait until 6 AM to open gifts from Santa. I just couldn’t wait so I moved the clock ahead an hour and got mom and dad out of bed. My favorite Christmas ornaments are the ones my mom bought my sister and I when we were young. Every year we would get another ornament for the tree. One of my favorite childhood memories was waking on Christmas morning to find that Santa had brought me a wig! I was in third grade and had poured over the Sears Christmas Wish Book for weeks. I desperately wanted the child sized long hair wig. I wanted long hair so badly and was convinced that when I wore it, it looked real. It was one of my most favorite gifts. Congratulations Chelsea! My favorite memory is spending Christmas Eve every year with my grandparents. We lived in Virginia and traveled to Washington DC where my grandparents lived in a small row house. My aunt, uncle, and cousins came from wherever they lived. It was a joyous family time. We always drove by the President’s outdoor Christmas tree near the White House. It was very tall and beautifully lit. Then we hurried back to Virginia where my Dad was sure he had seen Santa headed that way! As a mom of a now 17 year old, nothing is better than seeing our daughter's face light up, even now, when we surprise her with cool/unique gifts...I KNOW somebody in the VERY distant future, being able to surprise/send time with any grandkids we are lucky enough to have will be EVEN BETTER than our own daughter!! Oh! I forgot to answer the question! One of my favorite Christmas ornament stories is about a small fabric rabbit that I bought from a craft’s faire when our oldest (33 now,) was 1. It was handmade and when you pressed the belly, the song “We Wish You a Merry Christmas “ would play. Every year when we got out the ornaments , I always wondered if it would still play. When our now 30 yr old son was 15, it finally stopped playing and I 😭😭😭. I was SO sad because to me, that represented the end of our kid’s childhoods. Our sweet son did a little surgery and repaired the ornament for me and I was so happy. Today, i still have it and it is silent, but I’m okay with that because I treasure the memories and am thankful for all of our wonderful memories with our amazing boys. Xx

My favorite thing about Christmas is trying to do something different each year. One year it was a scavenger Hunt foro our married Granddaughter. One year it was our 3 kids were allowed to pick their favorite quilt that I had made as their gift. This year will be a Christmas Labor of Love. When my brother was about 4 years old, all he wanted was a pedal tractor and wagon he had seen at the implement dealer while with our parents. His 3 older sisters knew what he was getting for Christmas. We were so excited for him! Money was tight at the time, so he only got one present. When Dad rolled out the tractor from the secret room, he looked at it and said, "Where's the wagon?!" We looked at him and all started laughing. One year he bought marshmallow guns and a package of mini marshmallows. When we all opened it we had a marshmallow war. My favorite ornament is a “peg-leg”Santa that adorns the top of the tree. When we were growing up things were very tight financially, and my parents couldn’t afford an angel or Christmas star to top the tree - so they bought a velveteen covered plastic Santa standing on one leg at the drug store, ripped off the stand and fastened him to the top of the tree with a hairband. As we became older, my mother longed to replace “peg-leg” Santa with something else, but all 6 of us kids firmly refused. We loved our Santa! Several years ago when we were all grown with Christmas’s of our own, my mom gifted each one of us a “peg-leg” Santa of our own (she had hunted through flea markets and antique stores for years to find 6 of them). She declared “You all have one now. Put him on the top of your tree if you wish - but I am putting a Christmas star on mine.” And yes, he lives on top of our tree and I have started hunting for “peg-leg” Santa’s for my kids. ❤. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7.

I remember the Christmas of 1982, my husband had just got layed off of work in the coal mines. We had a newborn and a 2 year old. I mean we didn't have one dollar to spend on Christmas. I remember crying and thinking how will this ever be a good Christmas. We with our pride went to the Salvation Army and got 2 little toys and 2 used toys for our babies and a box of food for a wonderful Christmas dinner. We were all together as a family and ended up having a good Christmas. We have come a long ways and are truly blessed now with 5 grandchildren. But even now, I cannot pass a Salvation Army kettle without putting in money. I think that maybe it will help a young family struggling like we were. And since then we have gotten gifts worth more money, but you know this is the Christmas I remember most. And Jesus is the real meaning of Christmas anyway, not all the gifts. 6 We used to leave newspaper out in front of our fireplace to capture Santa's footprints when I was a kid. Each Christmas morning, we would compare the footprints to every boot in the house and they never matched. Still not sure how my dad pulled off that Christmas magic but we loved it.
Great memories of my husband and I, along with a solid group of 35 friends Christmas caroling through our neighborhood for many years then having a big party at our house after caroling. The tradition ended when we moved away...however, every year when my husband and I are decorating the tree, we are reminded of those great memories. When i was little, all my mother ever wanted was a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer. After years of watching her use the hand mixer, my dad decided to get her one. Everything went sideways when we did our annual shop because he saw a Kenmore stand mixer at Sears that was a bit more reasonably priced & "look, it has a stronger motor too!" Christmas comes & mom was grateful, but my father paid dearly for his error. whenever she had to bake the roar in the kitchen was deafening. my father would always yell over it "listen to that powerful motor!" 😂 when mom finally got the kitchen aid she wanted many years later - it was like she won the lottery. and Christmas baking has always been easier on their ears haha I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!! Oh my gosh, I just got goosebumps! Exciting news!!! So happy for all of you! Priscilla your hair looks really good! You two had me really laughing out loud today! My son walked through the room and asked if I was okay. My favorite Christmas memory was the older next door neighbors didn't have any children and they would come over on Christmas with gifts for all 12 of us siblings. They were so much fun. It would be about 10 in the morning and Dad would say can we get you something to drink? And they always said they wouldn't turn down a Bourbon and press! I would always get to fix it for them. They were like extra grandparents! We loved and missed them when they passed away. 4 6 7

A very happy and restful Christmas. I'm a early years teacher and we had our Christmas show this week. At the end our head teacher stood to thank the children and the parents for coming to watch. She said “what is Christmas all about without seeing these wonderful children singing” and one little boy on the stage interrupted and said “its about sharing with others and all our love to share”. When I was around 6 my grandmother visited us from England for Christmas and after I went to bed she worked on making each of my dolls a new outfit! Merry Christmas to you and your families! My mom died in 1990. She was the biggest cheerleader when it came to Christmas. She loved wrapping gifts, would put tons of stuff on layaway 2 months beforehand. We always had a tree, artificial or real. When she died, it took the wind out of our sails. So to breathe life back into the holidays, I found a scraggly pinon pine on a friend's ranch that just matched our emotions, the kind of tree that had the side you would face toward the wall😁I brought it home and decorated it. It was like the tree that could, and we realized that we could go on with our lives without her. That tree was a turning point. Thanks Chelsea and Priscilla. We had all gone in together to get her a Christmas present that she could use while she was getting her chemo treatments. The whole family was there when she was opening it. It was a Kindle Fire. Here is a good story. So our sons birthday is the 26th. So on Christmas my husband went to get a motorcycle we got for his birthday. My youngest daughter, myself and our son went out so my husband could bring it home and he wouldn't see it. We have goats and a great Pyrenees/st Bernard that is an outdoor dog. My husband had put a turkey in the smoker while we were gone. He got home first, called me and said, hey, are you still in town. The dog and goats got the smoker open and ate the turkey! 😂😂
2, 4, 6, 7 -When we were little we had to wait until 6 AM to open gifts from Santa. I just couldn’t wait so I moved the clock ahead an hour and got mom and dad out of bed. Nobody noticed the time until we got to church and the place was empty! We were an hour early!!

One of my favorite childhood memories was waking on Christmas morning to find that Santa had brought me a wig! I was in third grade and had poured over the Sears Christmas Wish Book for weeks. I desperately wanted the child sized long hair wig. I wanted long hair so badly and was convinced that when I wore it, it looked real. It was one of my most favorite gifts. Congratulations Chelsea! My favorite memory is spending Christmas Eve every year with my grandparents. We lived in Virginia and traveled to Washington DC where my grandparents lived in a small row house. My aunt, uncle, and cousins came from wherever they lived. It was a joyous family time. We always drove by the President’s outdoor Christmas tree near the White House. It was very tall and beautifully lit. Then we hurried back to Virginia where my Dad was sure he had seen Santa headed that way! I think of these special times often and miss all those family members I can no longer see. The pattern I would like is 4

My favorite Christmas story/memory was the year my folks completely surprised by younger brother and I (we were 9 & 11) with our puppies Abbey & Corky!
It happened a few days before Christmas and it was THE BEST Christmas surprise EVER!!! As a mom of a now 17 year old, nothing is better than seeing our daughter's face light up, even now, when we surprise her with cool/unique gifts...I KNOW somebody in the VERY distant future, being able to surprise/send time with any grandkids we are lucky enough to have will be EVEN BETTER than our own daughter!!

Oh! I forgot to answer the question! One of my favorite Christmas ornament stories is about a small fabric rabbit that I bought from a craft’s faire when our oldest (33 now,) was 1. It was handmade and when you pressed the belly, the song “We Wish You a Merry Christmas “ would play. Every year when we got out the ornaments , I always wondered if it would still play. When our now 30 yr old son was 15, it finally stopped playing and I 😭😭😭. I was SO sad because to me, that represented the end of our kid’s childhoods. Our sweet son did a little surgery and repaired the ornament for me and I was so happy. Today, i still have it and it is silent, but I’m okay with that because I treasure the memories and am thankful for all of our wonderful memories with our amazing boys. Xx

My favorite thing about Christmas is trying to do something different each year. One year it was a scavenger Hunt foro our married Granddaughter. One year it was our 3 kids were allowed to pick their favorite quilt that I had made as their gift. This year will be a Christmas Labor of Love. When my brother was about 4 years old, all he wanted was a pedal tractor and wagon he had seen at the implement dealer while with our parents. His 3 older sisters knew what he was getting for Christmas. We were so excited for him! Money was tight at the time, so he only got one present. When Dad rolled out the tractor from the secret room, he looked at it and said, "Where's the wagon?!" We looked at him and all started laughing. Every year my husband thinks of a gift for everyone and we open it last. One year he bought marshmallow guns and a package of mini marshmallows. When we all opened it we had a marshmallow war. My mother in law sat on her chair and ate the marshmallows that landed on her. 😂 For a year we still found marshmallows behind furniture.

My favorite ornament is a “peg-leg”Santa that adorns the top of the tree.
When we were growing up things were very tight financially, and my parents couldn’t afford an angel or Christmas star to top the tree - so they bought a velveteen covered plastic Santa standing on one leg at the drug store, ripped off the stand and fastened him to the top of the tree with a hairband.
As we became older, my mother longed to replace “peg-leg” Santa with something else, but all 6 of us kids firmly refused. We loved our Santa!
Several years ago when we were all grown with Christmas’s of our own, my mom gifted each one of us a “peg-leg” Santa of our own (she had hunted through flea markets and antique stores for years to find 6 of them). She declared “You all have one now. Put him on the top of your tree if you wish - but I am putting a Christmas star on mine.” And yes, he lives on top of our tree and I have started hunting for “peg-leg” Santa’s for my kids. ❤. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7.

My Swedish grandpa used to dress up as Santa in a beautiful costume my grandma made him. He handed out presents to the kids and adults at our Xmas Eve parties in the 70s and 80s until he passed away. Great memories of that. You have to believe to be on his list and receive … ❤ Merry Christmas all!

My favorite memory would be when I was a kid we’d always go driving around a neighborhood called “Christmas Card Lane’ where each house was decorate and had giant painted Christmas cards on their lawn. It was a citywide thing. Then we’d go to a nearby park that was all decked out in lights and oversized snowmen and candy canes. Finally we’d head home and have milk and cookies and leave some out for Santa.

I remember the Christmas of 1982, my husband had just got layed off of work in the coal mines. We had a newborn and a 2 year old. I mean we didn't have one dollar to spend on Christmas. I remember crying and thinking how will this ever be a good Christmas. We with our pride went to the Salvation Army and got 2 little toys and 2 used toys for our babies and a box of food for a wonderful Christmas dinner. We were all together as a family and ended up having a good Christmas. We have come a long ways and are truly blessed now with 5 grandchildren. But even now, I cannot pass a Salvation Army kettle without putting in money. I think that maybe it will help a young family struggling like we were. And since then we have gotten gifts worth more money, but you know this is the Christmas I remember most. And Jesus is the real meaning of Christmas anyway, not all the gifts. We used to leave newspaper out in front of our fireplace to capture Santa's footprints when I was a kid. Each Christmas morning, we would compare the footprints to every boot in the house and they never matched. Still not sure how my dad pulled off that Christmas magic but we loved it.

Great memories of my husband and I, along with a solid group of 35 friends Christmas caroling through our neighborhood for many years then having a big party at our house after caroling. The tradition ended when we moved away...however, every year when my husband and I are decorating the tree, we are reminded of those great memories. When i was little, all my mother ever wanted was a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer. After years of watching her use the hand mixer, my dad decided to get her one. Everything went sideways when we did our annual shop because he saw a Kenmore stand mixer at Sears that was a bit more reasonably priced & "look, it has a stronger motor too!" Christmas comes & mom was grateful, but my father paid dearly for his error. whenever she had to bake the roar in the kitchen was deafening. my father would always yell over it "listen to that powerful motor!" 😂 when mom finally got the kitchen aid she wanted many years later - it was like she won the lottery. and Christmas baking has always been easier on their ears haha

A very happy and restful Christmas. I'm a early years teacher and we had our Christmas show this week. At the end our head teacher stood to thank the children and the parents for coming to watch.
