All The Tears That Shine from David Paich's new album "Forgotten Toys", out now.
LYRICS:
Every time you wake, I can see the smile in your eyes
How long will it take, before I finally realize
Itʼs time to let you go, still my heart keeps holding on
Will I ever know, if the thought of loving you was right or wrong
I never meant to make you cry, or meant to cause you pain
If I had one more chance, it wouldn’t be the same, it wouldn’t be the same
All the tears that shine
Just the rain that’s in your heart
All the tears that shine
Reflections of your face and mine
All the tears that shine
Every time you sleep, do you ever dream of me?
Am I in too deep, having you is all I need
Every time you ache, I can almost read your mind
Is it a mistake, to err is human to forgive divine
I look into the pool, ripples form in soft salt water
All I see is you, and a fool in love, just a fool still in love
I look into your eyes, ripples form in soft salt water
All I see is you, and a fool in love, just a fool still in love
All the tears that shine
Just the rain that’s in your heart
All the tears that shine
Once belonged to you, now they’re mine
All the tears that shine

David is the heart and soul of TOTO. His music is legendary. Thank you for these wonderful 45 years
Toto fan 4 life. This is a gem.
Painfully beautiful.
The soul of David Paich.
Legend forever.
Thank you David, how beautiful to hear Michael’s voice, with all his pathos. Miss him so. Love your new album. ❤
Thank you David and Michael for this very different version of All The Tears That Shine. The song originally became familiar to me from the XIV album. I think this version of the song is a fitting tribute to Michael Sherwood and his memory.
The beautiful voice of Michael Sherwood.... and his extraordinary lyrics.♥
I miss him every day....
Thank you for this David!
Paich and McDonald - frickin living legends! 🎵Beautiful album
From Toto XIV, love it 😊
Thank you Mr David Paich 🙏🏻🎵
Co writer, Michael Sherwood, my dear friend, October 27th 1959 to November 5th 2019 . when we played together in 1972, think about that, HE WAS A MONSTER PLAYER AT at 13!!!!
I love this song. The lyrics paint a perfect picture.
A peter gabriel atmosphere on this version,i like it!
I feel exactly the same way. A Peter Gabriel vibe to this song.
All The Tears That Shine, I love this song!
Simply wonderful. A gift for the ears.
A real David Paich song thank you for this beautiful music
Great music and amazing band !
Michael Sherwood on vocals
Thank you David for this version with the exceptional Michael Sherwood singing.
I have goosebumps
If you like Michaels voice check out Steve Porcaros album Someday/Somehow ("Make up")
amazing
Outstanding..
Very nice.... Liked the original, like this one too .
This one makes me sad because of Mr. Sherwood's passing. He had a unique voice.
The song is great but, to be honest, I prefer the version on Toto XIV sung by David himself.
Same.
Michael Sherwood who sings this version died in 2019 so this is probably a tribute.
@@msoileau83 Yes it is
Michael Sherwood had kind of a Michael McDonald vibe vocally, but more on the baritone side. RIP.
❤
Who's that singing? It sounds like the vocals are pitched down, is it David?
I don’t think so ..
Michael Sherwood, he reminds me a bit of Peter Gabriel.
It's Paich, with a bit of Gabriel vibe
@@oliverpfaff7941 no, it's Michael Sherwood
Michael Sherwood, brother of bass olayer Bobby Sherwood (been playing with the Steve Howe Yes version for a while) sings lead here. He had worked on one or two Toto albums in the 80s, delivering backing vocals. He passed away in 2019 but he co wrote this song with Paich for Toto XIV.
Who's the singer????
Michael Sherwood
@@papincampos Thank you
God bless Michael Sherwood but the Toto XIV version is the better version.
This is so a Peter Gabriel melody, thinks he's voice on this could have been even better..
Love the song!! but not this version.. I respect it for what it is but the vocals are not great To MY ears. Love david's version on toto fourteen.
