Hey Gamecats, huge thanks for your support with the Snow Scout situation - Thanks to Bryans coverage, a lot of you have already wishlisted the game and made their interest known! Just to be clear, we already spent six weeks of work on the port, at which point we learned that there are multiple complications coming our way. In connection with the sales for Rainbow Ractor: Fusion, which had completely petered out at the time, we realized we just couldn't afford to put in the 4 to 6 months of work that would be required to complete the port in the scope we are aiming for, if the sales would be as bad as for RR: Fusion in the end. So far, the wishlist numbers look really great though - we'll just have to keep watching for a couple more days to see if that trend can hold. Thanks again!
Thanks for the clarification!
Just want to say that I very much liked rainbow reactor!
@@Raveyardbe thank you, that's great to hear 😇
I am glad you are here to clarify yourself because my take-away from the AMA on reddit was that the number of wishlists would determine the amount of time / effort that goes into upgrading game for PSVR2 port, but game is coming regardless.
THIS is what makes (PsVR) Without Parole THE community for dang-near a decade
Still hoping for the Hitman Trilogy Psvr2 version with upgraded controls. They have a ton of replay ability.
That's my dream
One game i need on PSVR2 is blood & truth. It was one of the best PSVR1 games, and I sadly never finished it, but I think not upgrading it would honestly be a waste of a really good game. I mean it stood out on a headset that was years behind the competition in terms of pure specs, now imagine that awesome game with actual good graphics and framerate and whatnot!
I second this! I was fortunate enough to finish that game more than once and even return to it on my PSVR1 every now and then. We need it on PSVR2 along with (in my opinion) RE7 - those two games being left behind on the old headset would be such a shame.
Blood and Truth was fun when it let me play the game, but the cutscenes are excessively long, needlessly complicated, and pointless, and it has a lot of game progressing bugs and crashing issues near the end game like unable to holster your gun for a climb section and hit detection getting completely disabled in the airport during combat. Needs to be a stable port and allow cutscene skipping.
@@Alien_isolationist oh I still have a PSVR1, just not the capacity or will to effectively use it. But that the studio shut down is pretty dissapointing
@@Alien_isolationist I already had my PSVR1 hooked up to my PS5, but ever since I got the PSVR2 I didn‘t have enough space to store both headsets in my room, hence my PSVR1 is now stored somewhere in my house while my PSVR2 is in use. We do have two other PS4‘s still, but from where they stand there just isn‘t enough room to justify VR
@@Alien_isolationist no, seriously, my PS5 stands on like two rectangular ikea shelves, next to it is a small wardrobe, smaller than me, where there is just enough space for my current headset on top, And I have a small desk in front which is occupied by a wheel and keyboard and mouse. There‘s barely any space for the PSVR1, let alone all the accessories (move controllers, stand which also functions as chargers for said move controllers, that weird gun thing?) and then there‘s the cables! My cable management is absolute dogshit, and with the 200 cables added by the PSVR1 nobody has a clue what‘s going on back there, and it‘s just total chaos and really cramped. Checking for anything that‘s wrong with cables is an absolute nightmare, and I don‘t want to deal with the PSVR1‘s bullshit just for like two games I want to play, with like 240p resolution tops
I'd much rather more PS VR1 ports than Quest games. Astrobot, Rush of Blood, RE7, etc. Many of us have both platforms already.
So many games would be incredible on the 2. If they would bring Fallout 4, I would be happy and set for years. Skyrim too!
Squadrons ❤
don't tease
Great Video Bryan. Things are looking better each day for PSVR2. I was playing Stride Fates on Quest 3 last night, it's really awesome, and I can't wait to get the PSVR2 version.
You should do Helldivers 2 as the game we need on PSVR2.
The lack of racers means we need Wipeout and Dirt Rally ported over, Mind you, these were free VR patches, so we'd likely have to get our wallets out this time.
For real!!!! I naively thought we would have f1 and wrc by now! Happy for all the horror fans hoping it’s our turn soon!!!!
Hitman needs to be ported. Would be amazing
We need q new Astrobot VR game. ❤
Farpoint and Astrobot are my top picks to come to PSVR2. Hopefully one day
Hopefully a new astrobot
So many games from psvr1 could be ported fairly easily to psd out the catalog. Imagining wipeout, re7 and more with the higher resolution and in the case of re7, room scale movement.
Skyrim vr ?
What about knockout league vr. I was so absolutely hooked to it (no pun intended)
For next weeks episode, could you consider asking for a PSVR2 remaster of the *Transference* and *Walter Test Case* bundle? *Transference* has an incredible psychological thriller experience with its atmospheric tension and unique narrative, and *Walter Test Case* offers a fascinating detective story with mind-bending puzzles. The improved visuals, haptic feedback, and enhanced immersion of the PSVR2 could really elevate these games to new heights.
I would love Rush Of Blood and the impatient on PSVR 2! Supermassive is and underrated PSVR studio.
Just a big thank you for tirelessly keeping us up to date with psvr2 news, Bryan!
I want Skyrim…with mods
I wishlisted Snow Scout. It looks decent, and I can appreciate the developer's situation. A lot of developers can't afford to take a chance at such a loss, and at least they're giving it a chance by doing this wish list test. Some developers just say it's not worth it and won't even try.
I wishlisted it too. If all we need to do to increase the game catalogue is to click on a heart symbol, I'll do it.
@@PrenticeSummerscales Exactly
only way i would "wishlist" Snow scout would be if it had fun stuff to do in it on the side, like downhill slalom racing, because it looks more like ski patrol WORK sim, then a game of exciting fun ski stuff to do. The trailer dosnt seem to have a mass-market target audience to me.
i dont see it, - Does Ski Patroling have a mass market these days?? Am i missing something? I dont get why they even made the game in that trailer, murder mystery, yeti-deer hunting, what?? Lol. Anyone have a clue? smh
.
(challenge) i will wishlist if someone can explain whats good about it. ;)
@@avaron_VR_Gamecat I get the impression it's more of a narrative experience, within the structure of being a ski patrol person.
It's being compared to the game Firewatch, which was a successful indie walking-sim style flat game where you played as a park ranger, but it was more focused on the storyline.
If it's a similar game, it will focus on the storyline while the ski-patrol stuff just gives you some interesting things to do while you explore the world and further the story.
I’d love to see Statik updated to the 2. I’d even buy it again if need be, though a discounted or free update wouldn’t break my heart.
Statik would be fantastic, but PSVR 2 can't track the dualsense (as far as we know), and I think it wouldn't feel the same with the sense controllers. Maybe a sequel where each hand has its own box?
Apart from Wanderer, this is exactly why we need Sony to ‘encourage’ development of VR versions alongside flat games. If every major game had a VR version surely more players who love those games would be tempted to wonder what it would be like to play in VR.
Great to see superhot on there this week. Totally a no brainer. This week im voting for the lesser
known Catch and Release. One of the most relaxing and therapeutic VR games I’ve ever experienced.
I love that kayak game.Wish someone would make a commando kayak game like the ww2 true story film “cockle shell heroes”.
We need cold vr as well!😤
Stride and compound is all I need this month
Now this is a “Why isn’t this on PSVR2 yet?” I can get behind. SUPER. HOT.
I'll be wishlisting skiing game just so I get a notification when it goes on sale
Hey if every viewer on this video wishlists Snow Scout we can get it.
Very true. Hey, also if 10% of the people watching this video would buy Rainbow Reactor: Fusion, we would be good to go 😅 But to be honest, I guess many of you already did. Thanks! 😇
Stride Fates almost looks like a fluid version of Blood & Truth! 👍 Looking forward to getting around to playing Cooking Sim (bit of a budding chef). Shame about Thief Sim as it looks potentially fun, 🤞4 patches.
Hitman Trilogy please. We now have actual controllers. Lets goooooooo
What about alternating the segment about the psvr1-port wishlist with a vr-mode-for-flat-games whishlist ? Maybe one genre at the time ?
Psvr2 needs Shadow Legends VR!!!!
Super Hot, like Beat Saber, was always my go-to for introducing people to VR...after playing it, one of my buddies was like "I get it now...just watching videos of people in VR doesn't do it justice"
rush of blood 2 was always my intro to showing people vr 😂
@Dewey_Boondye420 yeah, that was a good one too
Looking forward to Spin Rhythm.
Rythm games that allow the player to remix the music rather than hitting nodes on a predetermined track is what gets ahold of me.
It's not true that nobody bought rainbow fusion.
I bought it and am enjoying it. The throw haptics are very good.
The numbers we've heard for RRF are insanely low. Like, think of a really low number.
It's way lower than that
2 ?
Does anyone know what happened to Sushi Ben VR? It came out on quest, was announced for psvr2 years ago and no news since then, i thought it had a psn store page but maybe im mistaken because i can’t find one anymore
Just waiting for a release date, should be soon!
❤Kayak VR❤ needs the white-water rafting update or even a whitewater paid DLC, i so need to check it off my bucket list! But whitewater in VR, because VR counts in my list - and its much safer that way in VR. lol. :)
So i dont kick the bucket irl doing it, lol.🎉
p.s. Dont bother with Superhot unless it gets the "Stride Fates" upgrade the original just suxx and is only fondly remembered because it was one of the first ONLY with nothing better. Stop wishing for that superSnot unless its upgraded like stride fates, not just another lazy potato port. lol.
There's a game that just came out on PC VR called Whitewater VR which is exactly what you're talking about. Looks really good (maybe not Kayak VR Mirage good, but close). Hope it gets ported to PSVR 2.
@@GreyMatterShades i know about it. i think it will be the expansion for Kayak-VR on psvr2. Since most likely by the looks of it the same game engine in testing. Even the boat is exactly the same. lol. :)
@@avaron_VR_Gamecat It's a different game by a different developer, so it wouldn't be an expansion for Kayak VR.
But hopefully the Kayak VR team have been working on something similar.
@@GreyMatterShades * sings * sailing, sailing, sailing the ocean blue -
in my lil kayak i am Popeye the sailor-man. * song ends * lol
.Can only hope. TY! 4 hoping with me. :)
Borderlands , In death and The Persistence would do me
Aside from a well needed astrobot game, I'd like to see the persistence on vr2, they've done a ps5 update but its not the same in flat screen. Hell, I'd play dog poo clean up if it was in vr.
The Persistence would be awesome love that game
I wasn't interested in buying wanderer again. But With this delay I am now Very curious and iv decided to go for it. Seems they ve learned from the mistakes of others. ❤
concerning ports from psvr1: if there is a reasonable upgrade path I absolutely would reclaim superhot on psvr2.
I also would like to see on psvr2; hitman, astrobot, wipeout, battlezone, blood and truth, here they lie, fracked, golem, l.a. noir (maybe the full game ?), (Last guardian the full game)
And it would be cool if also the following would be on psvr2: ghost giant, deraciné, transference, bound, pyschonauts, vader immortal (really liked the dojo of the 1st episode), robinson: the journey (since it is only playable on ps4(pro)+psvr1).
Don't forget Battlezone
Aces of thunder updates?
Not sure how to feel about the Snow Scout tactic. I get where the developer is coming from, but I think a better option would be if they crowd-funded the PSVR 2 port. If they can raise enough money, the port is paid for and any additional sales are a bonus. If not, well then the interest likely wasn't there.
Personally I think Snow Scout looks way more interesting than Rainbow Reactor Fusion.
Thanks for weighing in, the question if people find Snow Scout more interesting than RR:Fusion is exactly what we're trying to find an answer for. With Kickstarter etc, the big issue is the same as trying to sell a game without a big marketing budget: How do you get (mainstream) people to know that the Kickstarter (or the game) even exists? That takes a huge social media strategy - either money, incredible contacts or better, both. And either way, it's a full-time job for at least one person (better 2 to 5) during the whole running time of the campaign. To me it feels better to invest such an amount of work into the port directly 😅
@@TunermaxxMedia Hey, best of luck with the Snow Scout situation!
I fully appreciate that running a crowd-funding campaign is basically a full-time job, and getting the word out can be challenging, but I still think it'd be the way to go.
When VR games hit crowd-funding sites, they're usually covered pretty extensively by VR youtubers and websites, which is almost free publicity. Then there's the fact that platforms like Kickstarter have their own newsletters with thousands of subscribers, which could help a lot if you can get featured there. They also recommend titles to people who have shown interest in similar projects based on keywords.
I think a crowdfunding campaign with the right perks, a reasonable funding goal, and some minimal marketing could more than pay for itself. It'd also be a much safer bet than the current tactic, as you'd know in advance if the port would be profitable. The problem with assessing interest based on the number of wish lists is that it's easy for people to wish list a game and then maybe not buy it or wait for a sale once it releases.
I've backed more than 150 crowd funding campaigns so I've seen a bit of everything. I'd be happy to offer tips/suggestions or discuss it further.
@@GreyMatterShades thank you for the offer! I just looked it up, so far I backed only 19 campaigns and only one of them was a VR game … which was 2 years late and had dropped VR by then 😅 Experience with crowd funding campaigns is definitely worth a lot when doing one!

Microsoft own Bethesda now and shutdown their VR team. It's not happening.
@@TheWinterbringer man Microsoft really is damaging everything these days. Skyrim and Fallout 4 for the Psvr2 would have been amazing.
Microsoft also owns Id, so that's doom out the window too...
@@TheWinterbringerMicrosoft no need money? Strange i think
@@evgenyyurichev there isn't that much money in VR. If there was, then Microsoft would develop.

How about Iron Man Vr on PSVR 2? I and a lot of people loved the first one, so it being on PSVR 2 seems like a no brainer
Will you be reviewing Sherlock Holmes? I'm kinda interested in this one.. needs some reviews first before I check it out

Once Rebellion are done with Zombie Army for PSVR2, I hope they move on to getting Sniper Elite VR over.
More arcade-style sniper games, please
would 100% re-purchase SUPER HOT (and Immortal Legacy) so I could play them on PSVR2. my PS4 is gathering cobwebs, and i'm not breaking that thing out, period.

Ive tried joining this discord for 10 minutes now but it wont work :/
Hey sorry for the late response, but it looks like you managed to get in a few hours ago. Did you figure out what the problem was?
@@WithoutParole Hi, got in now thx, basically when clicking the link it would send me to a new tab that was asking me to make an account and not giving me the option to sign in, then I tried entering the link directly into my discord app thats already signed in and it was saying I need an invite to join. I tried searching for it in the search for communities but it wouldnt show up. Then I checked the channel homepage and there was another discord link there (idk if it was different) but when i tried that one it was trying to redirct me to my discord app to join the community, but then when I accpeted, it would open the app and not do anything, like the community was not there. So then I copied the link from the channel homepage and tried entering that directly into my discord app and then it worked fine. Idk if I somehow overcomplicated it or if it just bugged out, but that was confusing af

Good job Sony for teaching the neighbors kid how to rob my house 😂😂
Whilst I can understand the road the devs of Snow Scout are going down, I'm not sure it's the right road, Rainbow Reactor just wasn't on my radar, it didn't appeal to me in the slightest, whereas snow scout does, instantly giving me the Firewatch vibe, I thoroughly enjoyed Firewatch, and desperately wanted it to come to VR.
Don't get me wrong, gauging your audience is a good concept, but I think there's an enormous amount of advertising needed to get an active response, It needs to be all over social media with teaser trailers etc
Veteran VR gamers like myself will probably scour the store for all upcoming announcements on a regular basis, wish listing anything that looks/sounds remotely interesting to them, but I feel casual gamers could miss the fact it's even there, some will find out through channels like yours, but some will miss it completely, which could see a potentially good game never coming over, and worse still the dev walking away from VR/PSVR2 entirely
Hopefully they hit the required numbers, as I'd very much like to try this one out
You're not wrong, advertising Dollars play a huge role in deciding on the success or failure of a game these days. Money is something we don't have though, and unfortunately for PSVR2, other stores do much better job offering discoverability. On the Quest store for example, all new releases of the week are shown side-by-side near the top of the store view. On the PSN, if you even catch a glimpse of the PSVR2 bar at all, it always seems to feature the same old top sellers like GT7, Beat Saber and Resident Evil 4 & 7 😅 But at any rate, big thanks for your support!
I completely agree, Sony need to do a better job of bringing up coming VR games to the forefront, even with the new releases they are seldom on the front page
I also fully respect the fact you don’t have the resources to port games over and just hope they sell
REC ROOM
Cooking Simulator? Why even bother, when you can cook in the real world and actually eat it. :P This is the last thing i'd want in VR.
Might check out the Wanderer. Sigh, and still no release date on Metro Awakening.
Great work as usual! A suggestion. You have many followers, a big reputation in this context. What do you think to make that kind of survey like a format? For psvr1 title, for pcvr/quest title not in psvr2 store, for porting flat (for example cyberpunk)
A goal keeper game? Those mischievous developers know theirs gonna be lots of diving into furniture at many a home for that 👹
I really wanted to like Thief VR but it's the most buggy VR game I've ever played. Even more than the Unity VR games
I played the ORIGINAL *Thief: The Dark Project Thief II: The Metal Age Thief III: Deadly Shadows* and started dreamin those games to be played in VR !!!!
I loved the Rope-Arrow and the Water-Arrow !!! WOW!
Also yes, super hot needs to be on psvr2, the quest version is great. I don’t know if there was a psvr1 version but I can’t imagine how that would’ve worked given the lack of true room scale movement, I’d imagine you’d duck and easy reach the limits of the old camera
Yup it was on PSVR1 and worked great!
Any update of why The murder of Sherlock Holmes is $19.99 on PSVR2 but $9.99 everywhere else? 🤔
No update as to why, but my review is coming very soon! (Spoiler, it's not even worth $9.99)
Not the “definitely not edited in later” again! 😂😂😂 bryannnnn!
#gamecats
So many games need ported from psvr1 but it’s been proven the money just ain’t there… so why would developers lose money doing the ports?
I think a lot of it is about optics. People are wrongly accusing Sony of not supporting PSVR2. And since they already dumped millions of dollars into these PSVR1 games why not port them over with some improvements to help the narrative? They could even be released as free PS+ games to help promote PSVR2 a bit.
Fuckin LOVED superhot. Would defo buy an improved version, especially if it was also the full superhot game, even tho the room based mode was great enough and kept me playing on and off thru the entire PSVR1 life cycle.
Wipeout. NOO reason wipeout isn't on psvr2. Best rush I've ever had in VR. Iconic Sony game. And somehow it never gave me motion sickness. NEED this to show off what the psvr2 can do
WIPEOUT and Battlezone
I’m ready for (READY PLAYER 1) to become VR REALITY ❤
I knew wishlisting was a thing on Steam, to manipulate the algorithm, but that's the first time I hear it about PlayStation platforms. I think I like it, I'd rather not have yet another game than developers losing money and never coming back to the platform with more ambitious projects.
Edit: with the PS Store being what it is, it's actually a bid they want to lose...
I think it would've been better if they'd crowdfunded the PSVR 2 port. If it hits the funding goal, the port is paid for and any extra sales are a bonus. If not, the interest wasn't there and the developer can move on.
You're right that wishlisting has much more "algorithmic power" on Steam, but on PSN, even the factor that people will be notified upon release plays a huge role. For us, the question is mainly if people think that Snow Scout is more interesting to them than our previous game Rainbow Reactor: Fusion. That is incredibly hard for us to judge ourselves 😁
We need more racing games but there doesn't seem like any have been announced, also something like microsoft flight sim would be awesome
Snow Scout:
I will absolutely refuse to wishlist this game or even buy it if it does come to PSVR2. What a dick move.
I bought that rainbow reactor game not because of of the good reviews, but because of the developer’s positive engagement online. I have still yet to play it and don’t mind that at all! I love to support when I can.
But f**k. Maybe I should bring all my stupid ideas to market and see if there is interest or I won’t try it at all. The game is capitalism. I hate it but this is how it is played homies. And you did not play well this time.
They need to chill on rythem games and make more of ANY other genre
need a good borderlands vr title. and DCS World.
I get why people like Superhot, but I think it's incredibly overrated. It feels absolutely terrible to throw things in that game. The worst I've ever experienced in VR. If I could pick one game to come over from PSVR1, it would be WipEout without hesitation. For every other game, there's something else somewhat like it on the platform already--there is still nothing like WipEout.
Wipeout or Flashout3 would be a shame if not on psvr2. :)
I sold Superhot after playing 15 minutes, because I have everything seen this game has to offer. It’s one of my personal worst experiences.
@@KarmaWillCatchEveryone Exactly! i agree no more potato games please. lol unless superSnot gets the "Stride fates" upgrade its best left in not so fond memories. Lol.
Still one of the best VR Games
@@KarmaWillCatchEveryone One of my least favorite experiences as well, and I only had a few set of levels left when I quit (I found out while watching a speed-run). It was more frustrating than fun. If combat puzzles is your thing, then it can be fun game, if certain mechanics like the way throwing works doesn't piss you off.
I guess im the minority. I like the more indie chill games. I want Gnog on psvr2. And more games like it. All these "experience" games are so boring to me. And the endless shooters. I been trying to sell my psvr2 i cant even seem to get 300 for it. I don't wanna be a negative nancy. The headset is amazing. The games being made just... aren't. Plus no video player? No VR chat? Like.. all the things i expected arent here. If it had a video player and like..minecraft or something id be happy forever. Its just missing like something to carr about for a long time. Just little one off experience games. GT7 was great too. But thats about it.
by the way, if any astronomer Gamecats up in north USA, dont forget to check the northern night sky tonight and tomorrow irl the Northern lights are coming to the northern US skies tonight. There is a rare solar storm going on irl. :)
🎉Happy VR'ing!🎉
Listing a game on the marketplace that hasn't even started porting, only to gauge interest is bad form. The store is crowded enough with shovelware and abandonware. The PlayStation can't even sort properly by a release date. So fake listenings like that are always in the way.
The store is done really poorly, always struggle to see what's on sale as well without having to scroll through all the games
Yep, sadly this channel is way better than anything Sony throws at us, they should be paying him lol :P
Don't worry, if this doesn't pan out, we will remove the title from the store again … and we'll know within a week!
Psvr2 failed and I hate to say it but they keep making same type of content.
Then many game developers quit right after they put out a game .
Oculus is delivering 👌 and they even have a 2 battle royal games that are amazing. While Sony keeps giving us different type of Beat Saber type titles and single player games. -___- . Headset over priced for no reason.
