I will be adding an extra battery to my Philodo H8. It has dual motors, but I assume the installation would be pretty much the same. Then I can ride for a 100 miles 🤣
Great video thanks, I use the blender from sparks cycle, they specifically say the blender should be housed with significant air flow. I can imagine how hot that blender will get this summer housed inside what is essentially a metal box Just a question and a heads up to a fellow rider 💪🏾 I have not attached my blender as of yet. Im aware of what you stated and thank you (good looking out brother) most riders won’t give any of this a second thought on these mods. I realize I’m taking a risk but I also informed myself and remind others to do the same. I periodically check the the box and batteries for over heating and in all the riding I do it’s always just warm to the touch and never hot. And the box actually has two vent holes, one on the back of the controller housing at the bottom clearly visible and another right under the seat tubing on the right side so that heat vents up and out of the controller box housing.
I made my ebike seller send me a second battery blinder and controller just in case they went out of business or retired owner is old and the supply chain is a nightmare so you understand why I did what i did.
I watched the video, it was interesting and I want to make your own idea. So, please explain to us in the video how to connect the battery wire with the control to the bike engine. Thank you
So where’s the other battery and what voltage? Is it the same or can you connect two different volt batteries to the blender? I have a 52v triangle batt and 48v for next e-bike project OR should I connect in series? I know, two many questions. Lol
The second battery is the triangle battery with the gold star 52v 20 ah. You can connect two different volt like your 48v and 52v using the sparkcycleworks blender. Go to sparkcycleworks.com to check out their videos on the battery blender.
How do you like the Vee Speedster tires? I bought 2 for my Fat ebike back in 2018, but haven't installed them yet. How does it work? it draws power from the battery at the same time with different voltage? Bolton has it too and it draw power on higher voltage first, and when it’s equal to the other battery, that time it will work simultaneously.
Rider X nice meeting you at the Long Beach LAESK8 ride a couple Sundays ago, I'm about to connect the second battery soon. Where did you purchase the extra X90 cable for the additional battery? I like the idea of using the same opening on the bike to run the additional battery cable through it. If it's an electric shop in Long Beach, even better or maybe I'll check amazon. What length would you recommend? Thank you again for your time bro.
Hey Robert, what’s happening! Well you can go to any electric shop and they might have some already in stock or you can have them make you a custom one which I did but I went to a shop out in Alamitos and I payed way to much. So first measure the end of the cable from your mounted battery to the controller housing then add an 2-3 inches for play. It’s an easy setup but Let me know if you need help. we can always meet up if you live in Long Beach. I tried Amazon first and they do have them but the cables were to short.

Sweet 🖖🏽 post pictures or vids when you can. Ok cons, you have to spend more money on these mods on an already great ebike.( ask yourself do you need the extra range?) I bought the same set up for my wife so she could go on the LAESK8 rides and she never goes she’s not interested in riding in big groups so it was a waste of money on her ebike. It doesn’t bother me but the extra battery will add weight making it heavier if you have to walk up stairs to carry the AR if you live in an apartment, and it does also shave off about 1 to 2mph at most. Ok Pros, not that expensive to add if you have money to burn. I never worry about mileage range don’t even think about it at all and I get 40 miles on full throttle with some battery left over. Hello. I saw the video from sparks too and contacted them about the risks of me running the blender with my 35amp controller and two battery’s and they stated that it can be done they built enough safety into the blender but they don’t recommend it mostly due to the risks of heat dissipation. I hope this was coherent and helpful⚡️🖖🏽⚡️forgot to mention I did 40 miles on an LAESK8 ride and had two bars on one battery when I got back.
@@riderx4039I appreciate you responding quickly. I'll have to zoom in & see which side that you have the blender. Also. Where were you able to get the adapters & which one do I need please.
You're using the T60 FROM SPARK right?
Thanks in advance.
@@martymart3476 Yes I’m using the XT60 battery blender my battery came with an XT90 so I had to get an XT90 to Xt60. I don’t know what your battery will come with your so you’ll have to find out what adapter it uses then message the seller on what you need. I also went to an electric shop to get a custom length adapter cable for the remaining length from new battery to battery blender so that the cables look clean
@@riderx4039 I'm being real about it. Since your setup is tried and tested, If you don't mind - I'd like to follow in your footsteps !00%. No deviation.
@@martymart3476 right on👍🏽 just so you know there are cheaper ways of doing it but this is what I chose to do and it works, I have no complaints and I’ll be doing a 500 mile review on the whole bike soon. By the way my ebike and my wife’s are setup exactly the same and no issues with either one since the battery addition
what kind of battery did you get and where did you get it? Also what sort of range are you getting from both batteries
52V 20AH Electric Bicycle Lithinum ion Triangle Battery for 2000W Motor with Charge Waterproof case
Brand: QWW on Amazon. I just went on a LAESK8 ride and did 40 miles between both batteries and still had two bars on one battery when I got back.
Does this battery give you more speed as well?
@@kevinfitzpatrick2743 I do feel a slight power boost when I run them together but no it did not increase the speed it only doubled my range
@@riderx4039 hi! did you install the 52V 20AH 30A triangle battery on your ebike? I am looking at increasing the range in my new X-class 52v. Would you recommend the 52v 20 AH 30A battery? Thanks.
@@marcialever Hello, no I installed the 52V 20AH 45 AMP battery for 2000watt hub motors on my AR. I would recommend getting one like mine you should get around the same range. Factor in wind, hills and weight of the rider I’m around 6ft and weight 160lbs. I’ve tested mine on a LAES8 ride and did 40 miles and had a bar left on the secondary battery now with that said I can’t recommend something I haven’t personally tested or tried. Remember you void your warranty by altering your ebike. Hope that was helpful⚡️🖖🏽⚡️
Wowww is it that easy I thought it be alot harder then that
Yes it’s that easy, plug and play. Just please educate yourself on your ebike system and what you need to safely ride with an extra battery!
@@riderx4039 ok thanks

How is this working out for you. I just got my 52v and would love to do this to mine. Just seen the video by Sparks about the battery blender. Just wanted to know is it safe to do
Hello. I saw the video from sparks too and contacted them about the risks of me running the blender with my 35amp controller and two battery’s and they stated that it can be done they built enough safety into the blender but they don’t recommend it mostly due to the risks of heat dissipation. So I’ve been running a risk for over 600 hundred miles and no issues but I’m aware of the risks of over heating some components. Remember when you alter your ebike you void your warranty so If you attempt this know the risks involved. Contact sparks cycle works they’ll tell you the same.
@@riderx4039 right on and thanks. Maybe I will wait awhile and follow you and see how it works out for you
@@reyesfam619 right on, thanks!🖖🏽⚡️🖖🏽
@@riderx4039 please do a update soon 🙏
I’ll be doing an update soon on both ebikes!👍🏽⚡️🖖🏽⚡️
Battery blenders like the DateX2 will not work on bikes with regen braking.
Thanks for the info
