    What a lovely idea for instant jam. I’m not a big stevia fan unfortunately. Do you think some maple syrup or some honey would do the trick? Can’t say I’m a big persimmon fan but this could make me a convert!

      hi. you can use raw sugar, and I was not keen on persimmons till i discovered that lime tastes amazing with it.

      I tried this one with some Black Garlic Organic Honey we bought on the Sunshine coast, worked really well - delicious👍 . I'm sure pretty much any Honey would do, I hit is with a stick blender for just a few seconds. The lime and Honet compliments it well.

    Hi Elizabth. I've seen persimmons however never knew what to do with them. Your easy recipe looks great. I'll definitely be making it. Sprouts are also an easy delicious nutrient boost. Thank you for sharing.

      I hate the things and our neighbour always gives us a bag of less-than-ideal ones. To not waste them, I make banana bread but with persimmons. Not a strong flavour but a decent way not to waste them.

    I love how much promite you put on your bread, so Aussie. Yum. Warning to Americans though, don’t try this at home 😂 Go easy on the promite and Vegemite when you first start. ❤

      @@victorybeginsinthegarden for me/us Aussies we were brought up on Vegemite and promite so we are used to it but it’s very strong and salty for those not used to it. Added to homemade gravy it’s soooo delicious.

    Hi Elizabeth, after you rinse them each day do you put a fresh bit of water back in the jar? Thank you :)

    • @homesteading
      @homesteading  Год назад +1

      No, after the initial 1 day soak, they simply need to be rinsed, and the remaining moisture on the sprouts is sufficient. The jars need to be set so they will drain and not retain water as this would cause them to rot. If the weather is hot they may need rinsing more often then once a day - do not allow them to dry out as they will then die. John.
