I was lucky enough to youtube push your video to me this morning and this was a real treat. Great video! I'm always happy to see people digging on Sonic Youth, they're one of the coolest bands ever, in my opinion. Anyone who has maybe heard a song or two and has been thinking of doing a deep dive on them, I can't recommend doing so highly enough. Also, if you dig this band check out Broken Social Scene. They remind me a lot of Sonic Youth.

If you are looking to go further with the classic 80s Sonic Youth, Schizophrenia off their album Sister is great. There is also an appearance they did on a show called Night Music at the time of Daydream Nation where they performed Silver Rocket and Wanna Be Your Dog, those performances are on RUclips and are really spectacular

Sonic Youth started in 1981 and didn't break up until 2013. They have put out a LOT of music, but this is one of their best known tracks. Their big 90s hit was called 100%, which was the closest they ever got to mainstream success. You would really like it, it's very catchy but hard and raw too. The Smashing Pumpkins are hugely influenced by Sonic Youth, as all the grunge bands were. Some of their music is really extreme, and some of it is very avant-garde and abstract. You should go deeper into them, they're hugely influential.

Sonic Youth is right there with the Pixies, Replacements, and alt rock legends pre-alt rock. Thought their cover of The Carpenters "Superstar" was strong.

In many ways The Wedding Present are nothing like Sonic Youth... but there are BIG similarities especially to this song. You need to check out early Wedding Present (late 80s)
Teenage Riot is genius. My first girlfriend had this when I was 16! Great reaction.

Just wasting a few minutes and this popped up... Dude, I was so into Sonic Youth growing up. The Dirty Boots video was a classic. The Bull in the Heather song. Tripping on LSD and listening to JC. And yep, Teenage Riot. Real cool that you covered this. Maybe do a reaction to Ween- Push the Little Daisies next??

Funny that SY come from the shoegaze/noise/alternative scene and get so experimental with their guitars yet all I hear is pure pop goodness. My daughter hates them bc she focuses on the background noise which I never realized is quite maddening if you weren't raised on industrial and shoegaze like I was
