Listening to this episode made me feel really sad for Apoorwa brother, because of the pain and agony that I felt through his eyes and voice. It's really unfortunate to see an extremely talented comedian in our country like Apoorwa to go through this, specially during this time when everyone is going abroad because of no hope and future in the country. I hope government will protect their country's artists, create proper law, environment, and make everyone aware that jokes in a comedy show should never be taken seriously. Stay strong brother. ❤

I am a Newar and I don't think this is a Apoorva vs. Newars thing anymore.
Apoorva is saying waha haru thinking Newars are after him, that is not true. We were offended but we never wanted him to go to jail or suffer as much as he has. We were OK with his apology. I for one believe even though coming from ignorance, he should be allowed to say what he said if it was meant as a joke.
These are select people with political agenda that are after him, these are not Newars. Sadly these people can insight hate and gather people to further their ambitions.
This is very much a political issue, for which he had become a escape goat, where the government bans Tik-tok as a solution against criticism in the platform. This is very much the government telling comedians or any independent journalist- "look what we are willing to do maintain a system where you cannot criticize the establishment." Newars are just proxy here.

I completely agree with you, being a newar, it was very embarrassing to see apoorwa getting tortured for a mistake which he thought was a comedy! He said sorry, video was deleted it was over but some wanna be politician and so called abhiyanta ruined this and made a big deal! I don't think so. This is not a political issue. Those people who are continuously going against Apoorva are just stupid people. They are ignorant. They are used by other people and making it a political issue.

freedom of speech doesnot mean hate speech against certain caste, ethnicity or their beliefs. Did those people illegally go and thrash him? No. they did wot one is supposed to do. they filed a case, so that court decide if that is right or wrong. if u or apoorva dont agree then u can go to higher court.
@@user-zu2ce1dx1zHere’s the thing, it was not hate against Newars and our beliefs. It was a joke. Anyone can call him out on the jokes, protest or even boycott him. What they should not have done is taken the legal route to prove his jokes as those offenses punishable by law. Such acts can create precedents in the future that anybody will be offended by anything and the court will have to take the same action as this case. Our feelings should not have that much say in our judiciary. I have much higher regards for our Newari values and culture that jokes do not have any impact on them. Please think about it. This issue can have much bigger impact in our communal harmony.
@@IAmPrakash i agree with you but the op's comment also holds ground. If you need to decide what is right or wrong, the judiciary is the answer. And that is the route they went. The court gave a verdict. However, many are not happy with that. Perhaps the court has lost touch with the general public? Do we not trust the judiciary to make the right decision?

I thank the host for this podcast. Some newars were offended , a few became aggressive and some in particular aggravated it and apoorva also asked for forgiveness.Chapter should have been closed there and then .
but the overall outcome became dirty. Being open minded, co-existing and respecting each other to this matter should help diffuse situation like thess..

Im sorry for whatever you have gone through Apoorva bro. I think anyone with a sense of humour would think your jokes wouldve been funny. I also understand why people were mad in the first place. I assume it is because newars have been used as comedic individuals on a lot of different ways throughout years. But to be honest so have been other ethnic groups.
