- January has many of the same plants we have been enjoying on the list along with Potatoes that I don’t think got mentioned today as well as some seeds that we can get started for our spring and summer garden. Along with the planting updates I also share a tour of the front yard and the backyard. I have so much garlic coming up, I am so excited.

🙏🏻prayers answered for your husband and daughter. Nice January list to follow. My zinnias are still very happy too! We are loving our rain , but already looking forward to warmer days ( yeah, desert life)! Take care always.
I am just a warm, heat loving person so I enjoy the cold for a week and that's it lol. What color are your zinnias??
Mixed colors, lilliput size used as a front row border for the raised bed. A bit if color is always nice 😊
Such a pretty sweater you are wearing!!!!
Made by you 🤷🏻♀️
Just the video I was waiting for, I was wondering what to plant in January in our AZ gardens. thank you. I hope your husband is healing and feeling better.
🙌 I am slowly putting new bales in on the side yard and I am going to go crazy with carrots and radish on them until my spring crops are ready to plant!
Your broccoli looks good
Yaassss been waiting for this! I appreciate you doing them BEFORE January so we can plan ahead. Thanks ma’am!!
I forgot potatoes!!! They are really best set on the 15th but if you're ready you can go ahead after the first!
I have saved my zinnia seeds for spring
Glad your husband is doing well
Love your sweater pink looks awesome on you
I have a leftover strawbail I got for Halloween decorations. I was wondering the best use for this in my garden
Thank you so much! My mom crocheted the sweater! You could use it as mulch around your plants, I love it for this purpose. Or you could slowly add nitrogen and let the winter rains break it down some and plant in the bale in the spring. Or you can use a strong nitrogen over a 15 day period and be ready to plant in 3 weeks or so. I have some videos on preparing bales for planting in my Playlist under strawbale journal.
Great video as always! This year we got so much rain!! Do you mind sharing where you got the greenhouse from? Does it hold up well in the wind/storm? Happy New Year!
I got it for Christmas last year, I have know clue where my husband and boys got it. It's It's Palram I've seen them on Amazon, they are solid. During the summer I has it under the tree but long term I plan to plant vines up the side so I can use it year round.
How did you plant in the hay?
I condition them with nitrogen for 15 days to make them rapidly compost on the inside and then I just create a wedge in the bale and stuff the plant in or garlic clove. You can plant seeds in it also but it's better to put a think layer of topsoil down first. If you look at my Playlists I have a strawbale journal that talks more about the process.
@@AllPurposeMom wow no soil in the hay? Sorry I’m new at gardening. What was it that you planted in the hay?
@@Sunflower139 nope no soil, it's broccoli, mustard greens, Kohlrabi and Yod Fah and garlic so far!
Do you have any problem with bird’s eating your plants ?
My biggest problem with birds is the digging. That's why we built the cover to go on the raise bed, I had a heck of a time getting anything going in there before because the birds dug everything up. For small temporary areas I use tulle fabric, and for new transplants I use the wire waste bins you see upside down in some of my bags.
