@VatanTURK I was thinking the same - what kind of brand promotion is it when they push/pay the organizer to score a podium. Do they really want to be associated with the stolen cup?
The Technagon team was also surprised that the Polestar team did not make it onto the podium. According to the number of laps, it would have been a shared third place.
With the organization being like this, Eco GP sounds like a massive joke. There's nothing professional about covering your ears and running away. So what if Hyundai's a main sponsor - a result being "won" like this means nothing. If anything, it's worse than nothing.
Sorry to hear about that lack of professionalism from the organization. Who wins , wins. No McGyvering to let a main sponsored car get a podium. But for now, dont look back. Prepare for a stunning 2022 season👍🏽👌🏽
The organisers of the EV GP should hang their heads in shame. I hope Polestar feel the same as you and chose to blackball that event as well. Feel for the team to be robbed in such a terrible way😞.
We had the same situation with the number of laps (-1) because we ran out of battery after finishing, but our result was not influenced, we finished on 6. But after I analyzed, they were right, but they didn't know how to explain, we went through the finsh and started a new tour that we didn't finish (we ran out of battery) which they then subtracted from the total number of tours.
Regarding track closure - you haven't missed much. Someone lost fluids in Eschbach around 14:45-14:50 so rest of the track was extremely slippery. Plus, there was a minor collision (Ibiza + Smart), a stationary car (yellow 993) and probably something more serious as the police were involved.

This behavior makes Eco GP seem like a joke. The exact rules have to be known to everybody bevor the race starts. And if you forget to implement a rule and the final rules have been published (or the bloody race started already) you have to stick to these rules and accept the consequences (eg a car running out of battery after 24h and line crossed) You can't make something illegal and then punish someone who did this while it was still legal. Racing needs to be fair and rules have to be clear and the same for everybody no matter the language they speak. All this makes Eco GP seem like a joke.
That sucks. Something we learned when my niece was competing in singing competitions, "the one who sells the most fish, is the winner." Contests were usually at a restaurant on "Friday Fish Fry" nights.

Hope you and Martha will recover from this day, keeping at heart that at least you could finally have your night stint, even though it was during the day. Best wishes

Guys - what an ending!! Congrats on 3rd!!!!!! Way back, when I was involved in 24hr Motorcycle World Championship, we were at Magny-Cours and when a French team got external assistance outside the pit lane, the organisers ‘moved’ the pit-lane exit white line out to the circuit- about 100m!! When we complained, we were asked if we wanted to come back the next year!!!!!!
Thx Misha for this great season with you. Feel sad for you because of the ending of it, but next year will even be better. Thank you for sharing your life at the greatest place on earth. Pancake is so sweet. #doglovebestlove Cheers.
That's heartbreaking about the M5 mate, I'm sure it will return better than ever, ready to be spanked around the Ring. Next year I'm hoping to come and meet you in person when Australian Borders open up. Another great vid Misha. Good job mate, we all know you should have been on the podium.
When it comes to the last lap you can do it on the sim :D and when it comes to the EcoGp they just wanted to take the money, a friend of mine had similar experience (circuit racing) so those greedy organizers gave him 10s penalty because he "cut the corner" too much and on the on board video it was clearly visible that wasn't the case, but there was nothing to be done so they pushed him one position down
Evening Misha firstly the m5 glad yourself and pancake are fine and as you said luckily it didn’t happen on track, it’s in good hands at Tom’s to fix. And simply to you, George, the other drivers and polestar who finished 3rd job well done and be proud of it. And to the organisers of the event BullenscheiBe you know the true results of the standings. And I hope it goes noticed on whichever event you try and sponsor again.
As soon as you mentionned the organisation running off, I immediatly think ok you can bet the 4th car is the one of a big sponsor or rich client son of a sponsor... So obvious. That's disgusting. Congrats for your race, we all know you deserved the 3th. Well raced guys !
Really sorry to hear about the M5 and the shambles that was the EV race. Keep your head up mate and look forward to the new season ahead and I will be back out next year and hopefully do some laps with you.
Total bummer with the last ring lap. An old M5 can give you plenty of Things to fix misha. As for the eco GT race. What an awesome 3rd place Guys. Embarrassing for the organisers Lol.
Did not expect any different to be honest - many cafes and restaurants at this point run "convenience food". Be it pre-boiled potatoes or other vegtables, deep fried stuff like chips, etc. or even like here, pancakes. PS: not saying it's good or bad, just a statement. If it tastes well most people do not care :D
A shame the Eco race finished as it did. And the track was closed on the last afternoon of the season. And your M5 decided it wasn't going to play any more. At least you have Pancake, pancakes and George. 👍🏻
I’d not heard of the ecoGP before, but it definitely sounds like one to never watch in future! A crappy day, but on the plus side, at least the BMW didn’t burn down! 👍
To misinterpret the rules is one thing, but to have the rules changed after the fact is just not acceptable. To have rules changed after the fact and not being informed until 30 hours later is really unbelievable! I would be upset if something like that happened to a competitor, a different team, even if it was a benefit to my team.
Wow, what a day. Can't think of how that could have gone much worse. With that and the flooding etc, I think it's safe to say that 2022 will be a much better year!
Just want to say I really hope to see more with Polstar. I'm excited to see the company grow. So much so I've invested in their stock. It sucks that the event wasted your time away from TF. I guess in the end you can't have all good days. There's always tomorrow.

So sad, having all this happening (not just Eco-GP). Even beeing within the electric-car-bubble, its not my first time, I hear someone complaining about organisations at Eco-GP. In the early days, Rafael forwarded his Idea of 80-E-Days and Eco-GP, but nowaredays, he should accept some help for bringing it forward from a one-man-band to an orchertra. Things like this, should not happen anywhere, whatever you race, regulations should be clear, once you decide to start. However, I am looking forward to see George and you in some other BEV-Competitions, whatever they might be.

Factual and professional account of events and a great look inside EV race strategy by Polestar too. As the saying goes, onwards and upwards, you kept your cool, not an easy thing. Thank you Misha :)
The disappointment can be physically felt in this video. 😥 In order to promote electric mobility, electric racing will need to be clearly regulated instead of being run by some sort of feel-good clique.
I dont understand it. Rules are clear. If towing = - 1 lap. Next time you should calculate better and include a small margin as we did and arrived in the box with 1%. Maybe start with basic electrical module. Energy is kWh not kW, as it was wrong on the excel sheet. Otherwise good run with the Polestar. Excellent consumption and average speed!
@@jsquared1013 there is no finish line. The race is stopped after 24hrs and number of complete laps are counting. Not finished lap are not counting. There is also another rule mentioned that towing= -1. There is also mentioned that this will apply definitly all the time. This rules are on the homepage since months. There isnt any changed or new rules.
Pre-made pancakes and not home made? That would be a disappointment for me. At least they seem to taste good. Sorry about the M5. I'm sure you'll get it sorted out and it will be awesome. You got screwed out of the podium. Maybe the organizer was involved with timing of the SSC car too?
Was that E34 you purchased even serviced after you bought it? I would be way too scared to drive it anywhere let alone attempt to take it on a track without having done preventative maintenance on it. Poor dog, hope he didn't get too much smoke inhalation. Good luck with getting that beast back on the road
a good idea would be if you had batteries you could remove from electric race cars so you would run 2 batteries, one in the car while driving and the other charging for when the other battery in the car dies
Misha, I'm sorry to hear that but I have an idea, if you want to annoy the organizer and the main sponsor. In my opinion the tweaked rules don't apply to you. It's race rules and you ran out of battery after crossing the finish line. So it has happened after the race 😅
That was the same thought I had, you crossed the line therefore any issues after the "conclusion" of the race shouldn't have any effect on the race results. If you had ran out 1inch before the line then sure cop the penalty but to have it thrown at you after the end of a race is just poor form from the organisers.
@@babarnett1987 In many racing bodies (especially grassroots motorsports) for ICE engines, if you run out of gas and still cross the line, you’re still DQ no matter what. I imagine it’s the same with EVs

Sometime shit happens and this was one of those days. I'm glad the car didn't catch on fire. Much respect for all the team involved in the race!
Thx Misha for this great season with you. Feel sad for you because of the ending of it, but next year will even be better. Thank you for sharing your life at the greatest place on earth. Pancake is so sweet. #doglovebestlove Cheers.
Hi Misha, so sorry for you troubles and frustration! Keep your chin up, good things are on the way!!
so sad to hear that.. stay strong bro, you and your team are deserve for P3 podium
Now that the season is over - can we get an update video about the flood help efforts?
Yes.
@@mgcharoudin - thank you, looking forward to it! Also: congrats on P03 in the GP :) That's what all of us will recognize....
The important thing is that you and Pancake are safe.
Total bummer with the last ring lap.
An old M5 can give you plenty of
Things to fix misha. As for the eco
GT race. What an awesome 3rd place
Guys. Embarrassing for the organisers
Lol.
Wow, anyone else disappointed to hear the pancakes we’ve heard so much about aren’t freshly made!?
Did not expect any different to be honest - many cafes and restaurants at this point run "convenience food". Be it pre-boiled potatoes or other vegtables, deep fried stuff like chips, etc. or even like here, pancakes.
PS: not saying it's good or bad, just a statement. If it tastes well most people do not care :D
Me too 😐
In the short term, the sponsor got a podium finish; in the long term, the race has been discredited.
A shame the Eco race finished as it did. And the track was closed on the last afternoon of the season. And your M5 decided it wasn't going to play any more.
At least you have Pancake, pancakes and George. 👍🏻
the poor car was heart broken too about the missed lap
Really sorry this happened to you guys. At least there's pancakes.
The pleasure of old cars. Life is never boring! Lots of adventures. Go team m5
Horrific event management how to kill your event 101. As you said it’s principle rules were followed they cannot change the goalposts afterwards
Wow, what a day. Can't think of how that could have gone much worse.
With that and the flooding etc, I think it's safe to say that 2022 will be a much better year!
AAARGH!!! Quick!! Anti-jinx ritual!
As a man of principle myself I agree and applaud you
I wouldn’t expect anything more from a race called “eco gp”😂
Just want to say I really hope to see more with Polstar. I'm excited to see the company grow. So much so I've invested in their stock. It sucks that the event wasted your time away from TF. I guess in the end you can't have all good days. There's always tomorrow.
I watched the ecoGP live stream and live results to see how you got on - somehow I knew there would be a stop strategy somewhere!
BEST LAST DAY YET(for viewers): Pancakes’ very powerful guardian angle kept you from burning the M5 to the ground after the first sweeping left on track. You didn’t get stuck with the “Congeniality” label at Eco-E car Pageant …that label is a career ender … you guys are so lucky you didn’t get roped into that !!!whew!! …and controversy makes compelling content ! Hurray!!!
Looking forward to your Southern Hemisphere(neverwinter lifestyle) E-racing content (its the future people) …(keyboard drop)
I can feel and totally understand your frustration with your treatment in the Eco GP.
🤯 organiser is off there head!!!Wtf that’s a proper joke!! Massive pisstake!!!! Shame about the last lap of TF and you’re 5. Still as always a great vid Misha.
Bureaucracy and bullshit are synonyms... just ask anyone who has to work surrounded by red tape 😂
Give my 'Get well soon' card to the M5 😘
Factual and professional account of events and a great look inside EV race strategy by Polestar too.
As the saying goes, onwards and upwards, you kept your cool, not an easy thing. Thank you Misha :)
On the flip side, that could have been a lot more expensive I guess!
At least you’ll have an entire off-season to fix it
The disappointment can be physically felt in this video. 😥 In order to promote electric mobility, electric racing will need to be clearly regulated instead of being run by some sort of feel-good clique.
This will make you just stronger for the next year. Sad but you will get stronger out of that situation.
If no one else has said it, I will. Damn MISHA! Welcome to the GUN SHOW! 💪🏼
The race was over when it stopped as they had passed the finish line/checkered flag.
Really sucks about the M5, though not the most unexpected outcome for an old BMW 😬.
Haven't seen Misha this frustrated since his Mr. 709 video. Thumbs up if your that OG. Sorry this happened especially on the last day to the season.
Maybe Boris needs to come out of retirement and contact some of his Russian ‘friends’ to have a talk with the race organisers?
When it rains it pours, as the saying goes. Let's hope for better things in the future!
Was it hyundai, then? Because I was thinking of an N Veloster, but screw them then; I'll just spend the money on my 93 325 bimmer.
The "3rd" place was team technagon 2, technagon was also a sponsor
The organizer is messing around so badly. BTW, electricity and old car are best friend. Good luck with your m5 project misha
