DIY Pizza Plates from scrap wood

- These simple Pizza boards can be made from just some scrap wood pieces, you can make them easily with just some simple hand tools like a hand plane to flatten them, a jigsaw to cut it to the shape you'd like and some chisels and a spokeshave ( optional, for decorating) its a great way to use up some small pieces of wood. For the finish, i used just a simple mineral oil. These make the perfect gift as cutting boards or serving board as well.

Came over here on a recommendation from Jimmy Diresta after watching his latest vlog. Good to see you didn't disappoint. That you made a pizza in a laser engraver/cutter and served/ate it on a really nice cutting board... well that just kind of ups the game on things like tablesaw tacos, Hackbench Jalapenos, or vise restoration waffle crepe tacos. Buddy, you just earned another subscriber!

hullo young man, you have just helped me with some off the Christmas presents, no idea what I will do with the boards. Tip if you want it, put grease proof paper between your clamps (cowels) it will save a wee bit of work removing glue. Heading for the freezer, pizza in front of the telly.

Danke Sascha! Ja, meine auch. Ich hab eine Platte darunter und hab alle Öffnungen zugeklebt wo möglich. Ist besser aber ich Denke daran die absaug stütze komplett zu entfernen und es von unten abzusaugen

All that burning from your table saw - not tracking properly?
I haven’t noticed it on other wood species so far , I’ll guess that’s hard maple that had those burn marks on it.
Yes - shows up most on hard, fine grained, light coloured wood. It means your blade is angled slightly across the cut - if the blade is centred in the cut the set of the teeth means that only the cutting edges of the teeth contact the wood. Sometimes it can also mean that the blade is dull, and forcing it through the wood produces a hot cut. Either way, it's a sign something is not quite right.
It’s also a question of the right feed speed. Im certain that i finetuned the saw when i got it. The blade is new but a cheap one. I might recheck the fence, maybe it got out a bit.
Yes, feed speed also a contributor in some cases. Check also that your fence is not deflecting? Tables can also be knocked out of alignment. There is stuff on the web about aligning a table slot with the blade.
