On your safety chains be sure to cross them. I found out about this when I rented a trailer from U-Haul. The reason for this is if the trailer comes unhitched from the tow vehicle the tongue will rest in the cradle of the safety chains and not drop down and gouge into the pavements.
Ive had exact same machine for a few years now and yer gettin the hang of it. Fun and most useful yard help ever. I have a ditching bucket and grabber for it too. When you plant the shovel at full extension pull both handles back at the same time and you will see how it scratches very nice. I've pulled big stuff out and for making drainage ditches in tight areas wow.
You wouldn't happen to know what sized holes are on the end of the outriggers ...the hole on the top square plate at the end of the outrigger .....Im making up some caster wheels to go on and off and need to know the size of that hole to attach them to ......My machine is 30 miles away right now lol i think its approx 3/4 inch ?
I bought one a few years back it was labeled as a Yard Pro. Same damn thing, I put the same kinda tires on it as you did and drug it 1800 miles from ND to ID at 65 MPH did great until a bearing blew out 70 miles from my homestead. Got it delivered to ND for $2100 USD with 2 buckets. I also built a 2 foot extension on the tow bar for a little more space between the truck and the unit. Love the digger, replaced the motor once already. Have fun!
I remember when I was building my house I rented a small machine with a bucket and backhoe attachment. I managed to bury the thing in my backyard in about 3 feet of mud and couldn't get the thing out. The place where I rented it sent an experienced operator to pick it up. Figured I was screwed but this guy, using the bucket and backhoe in conjunction with each other had it out in 15 minutes. Here I was trying to drive it out and he just lifted and walked himself out. It's like anything else, it takes practice. Bought my own backhoe a few months later and before long got to be a pretty decent operator. Took a while, made some mistakes, but eventually got good enough to be dangerous.
Reading lots of comments about ergonomics and such so I may have missed anything about lift capacity. I'm thinking specifically about uprooting jack pine and spruce roots while clearing pasture. Good video.. caught my attention as a landowner who could make good use of the tool. Thanks
They are great at pulling roots .....The curling force of the bucket is quite strong and would work in your application Id think ...the manual doesn't state the lifting force but its decent for sure ..

Before you move the seat, consider making a wedge shaped mount for under the valve body, then you can raise the control handles up and tilt them back at the same time, might make operating the machine easier and more comfortably.
@@sparkys506adventures4 Excellent, I thought about putting sliding tracks under the seat, but didn't know how to attach them to the seat mounts, getting a seat that already had tracks is a much better option.

Great vid! Mine's been sitting in the barn since last year. Gonna use it extensively this summer. Knew there was a big learning curve but this video help. Thanks man.
You're not doing too bad at all moving it around. I used to have an old Case 646 series B backhoe that was run into the ground by the local water plant fixing water lines ( apparently regularly scheduled maintenance was optional ). Anyway... The rear end went out and the only way to move it is what your doing. There's definitely a learning curve, but the more you do it... The smoother you get at it.
Just needing practice, I use my Trencher ll for digging 3 foot round rocks but I hook mine to a tractor or truck to get better leverage. 8HP briggs and I use mine a lot.
I thought myself to operate a excavator similar to yours, and one thing that really helped me was to hold the controls as low as possible, and it seems to make it much smoother. I'm really enjoying your content.
All the strenght is in the curling of the bucket. Lots tend to try to pull the arm towards the opperator. Seat time. I myself was able to ply with a 1.7 ton excavator and 5 ton helping out my brother in law build his new house. Fun as hell.

I admit its a great "toy". I had one but the other model with the 4 llevers, quite similar to what you have and it really worked well. To add a starter you have to change the flywheel since the original haw no crown gear. The only drawback it has is the degree of swing of the boom (about 130 degrees) which some times I found inconvenient especially when you are digging a trench or trying to load soil in a trailer. Other than that for the price I think its a great back saver
Okay so after watching your videos, I'm thinking in my head use those full-size tires on the back and just keep them on there but have electric hub motors in each of them and have a controller for each of them similar to a pressure sensitive toggle, then you could have like a "miniature Z-Turn". I don't know my mind running wild, its Saturday morning, but surely it would be fairly easy to make itself repelled without the use of hydraulics or extra engines just two electric motors just to piddle around

Only draw back is that you have to remove each pins and apply grease. I do mine after every 8 hours of use. It is a pain but those pins would wear out very quickly if you don't. I've made a bracket that I can insert in the square tubing where the hitch goes and I put two cinder block on that bracket. It does help holding down the back end and not bounce as much.. Check out Metsa man videos. Same backhoe , just different name. Got the idea of buying one after watching his videos.
very nice.. I always see these in catalogs and pictures but I've never seen one operated. I just looked .. they make 10" Pneumatic Caster wheels that swivel .. not the worst price.. probably not too difficult to get a metal plate to mount to the outriggers.. hope you dig many holes with it :o)
Great idea...Im considering some wheels that swivel and Id attach them to a couple of pieces of square tube ...id remove the outriggers and add the wheels ....could tie a strap to it and easily haul it around with my side by side
Didn't you grease all the fittings....? For not ever operating one before you did a great job.... it'll take time to get a feel of it and how it works.... playing with it as you go and learning the moves w.more smoothness....! =)
Can you turn the outriggers over so they sit on the flat plate? I would think you could slide along on the flat plates until you get to your digging location by pulling your self with the bucket. You wouldn’t have to lift the front. I guess you would need to turn them over before you dig so the pointed side can grab the ground. Really enjoyed the assembly video and this one.
that is a good idea but would be very limited to moving around any amount that way ...if I had a hard stump to pull etc that would work great actually !!! Thanks for watching
You have just about sold me on one! I have checked on line but can't find dealers for this machine in the US. Waiting to see you do some real digging. Good job!!!
Im interested. Looks like a decent little machine for the price. I just recently priced a mini excavator rental and it was about half what this costs for just one week. I would love to see a few more videos on it like digging up a eight or ten inch stump and if you leave it hooked up to the truck with it in neutral will it pull the truck along too? I am disabled and getting off and on to unhook it from the truck would be difficult for me so that would be a huge plus if you can just leave it hooked up. Hope to see a few more videos on this for sure. Liked and subscribed.
Thanks so much for watching ....vid coming friday eve with me digging a bit of dirt and pulling a decent sized stump also ....I guess you could leave it attached but what Im going to do soon is make up a pair of caster wheels to attach to the outriggers when i want to move it around easily ...ill prob use my side by side with a strap and tow it around the property ....its a fair distance from where I park it to out front where ill be using it ....
I have a DR tow behind backhoe that is very similar to your machine. The manual says to limit your speed to 45 mph. It pulls well at that speed, so I bet that yours will do the same. Hope you enjoy the hoe! Thanks for the videos.
It would be cool to do ....the toro garden tractor I have there was sold with a front end loader as an accessory ...im sure it could easily hold this rig ...the tractor is close to 600 lbs I believe with no attachments on it ...I have a 48 inch 3 blade mower on it now ...wish I could find a loader attachment for it also but they were over 6k over 30 years ago ....
To have a versatile little machine for trenching, digging, lifting trees and logs, and rocks 😂 you could do much worse. Once you get more used to the controls that thing will pay for itself on the first real project. It's either very quiet or you were practicing on low engine RPMs.
Every guy would want one those machines. Good for you! Thank you for sharing your first experience in using it. I enjoyed the video.

But practice makes perfect once you get used to it you be crawling and moving all over the place good job keep it up
I have a betstco that I leave hooked to my garden tractor to dig holes and short runs. For long runs I unhook from tractor.
Good idea but Im adding some caster type wheels to the outriggers to make it easier to move around ....videos coming soon
Great job
Pretty cool Dave 😊 hi Cindy 🥰
Great Video, Thanks
I think you can tow this with the bucket in the back of the atv lifting the legs up in the air. tie the bucket off and drive slow.

I may rig up an extra set of wheels to go in place of the outriggers to move it around the property .....
yes it digs soft dirt that you dug up before try it on some hard ground and see what it does
It digs well on harder ground also ....more vids coming soon
@@sparkys506adventures4 love to see them good job
Cheers
Nice Looking Black Dirt, Damned a Black Fly!
Instead of moving the seat forward, see if the levers are long enough to bend them back toward you.
I just got a new seat today for it and it even has a sliding track :)
If you bump the rpm’s up your hydrologic’s should smooth out. Hydraulic’s typically run at top rpm.
How much was it sorry I live in Saipan so I’m trying to find out how much it cost and if they can even ship it here. Thank you for the video’s.
They are approx $5000 canadian dolars now
What you cant use the trailer tires on turf?
i could have but need to take them home to put back on my trailer ....
I would keep it hooked up to the truck. That would allow you to get a good bite without towing your self along
that is a good idea but would be very limited to moving around any amount that way ...if I had a hard stump to pull etc that would work great actually !!! Thanks for watching
You have just about sold me on one! I have checked on line but can't find dealers for this machine in the US. Waiting to see you do some real digging. Good job!!!
Harbor freight
They have a similar unit but a few differences ...like theirs has 4 control levers not 2 ....
It did tow well actually but it wont be leaving the cabin any time soon ....
The front black bars look to me like they are upside down. The flat part should be on the ground. I think
the outriggers are turned correctly
They look upside down but are designed so the pointy part digs in the ground so you dont move around ....
i think i can ithink i can
Awesome video.
Thanks for watching
I would like to mount one of these to the back of a heavy-yard tractor.
The higher the rpm the smoother it operates
I enjoy the video thanks
Thanks for watching ed ...lots more to come
Got one, tow it around farm and local with 750 brute easily
Good job I want one now lol
you did great
Thanks ...its slowly coming to me ...
I have really watching you. If I Were able I would you think about getting me one. But I am into better shape for that enjoy yourself
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Towable by what an atv or lawn tractor?
To have a versatile little machine for trenching, digging, lifting trees and logs, and rocks 😂 you could do much worse. Once you get more used to the controls that thing will pay for itself on the first real project. It's either very quiet or you were practicing on low engine RPMs.
