where can I find a crown for my 2022 Chrysler Pacifica
I would search eBay first then call the dealership. If they dealer sells it then you will know that the crown alone is available and you can continue your online search of the dealership wants too much money.

Accidentally dinged my mirror cover backing out of my garage because someone in my household parked the passenger side too close to the door. The cover was cracked and I had to get a replacement part, but at least I learned a new thing on how to install/reinstall one of these covers.

Thank you so very much! I hit a recycling bin and didn’t realize the cap had popped off. I went to Honda and the service guy said there were no broken clips, but they would charge $150 labor! So I ordered the cap-which was expensive enough-brought it home, and looked for a video. Believe me, I like it!
I also ordered the glass, but I can see perfectly well with it broken, so I am saving that until it falls apart, or I decide to sell the car. I find that mirror way too easy to hit...

I bumped my brand new 2020 right side mirror and the base broke.
Called car dealership and it was 790$
Order the same piece, use the same painted cover and my cost was 200$

Hey, you did a really nice job in teaching this. I think I'll try removing the cover on my wife's car tomorrow. The dealer wanted $70 for the cover and $50 to swap it out. Ours has a pressure crack because she hit a trash can. Duh. It has a buckle in it but It might be repairable, if I can release the tension. Btw, if something really hot was parked next to your vehicle, that could have caused it to deform, ie: melt. Thanks again.
Dave, tthanks for the feedback. It's a easy swap and will only take you 5 minutes but don't force it and only use plastic tools like trim removal tools.
@@RANDOMFIX I fixed mine today. A few things to note: that plastic is rather flexible and if you feel for the fasteners you can shift the mating pieces by squeezing the plastic in different directions and sometimes even hear a pop when it releases. When that happens, you want to put a shim in there to keep it separated. Also, you can pull the mirror first and that way you can release the hooks on the fasteners from the inside. The mirror has 4 wrap around type connectors that pop off with a little bit of prying. You will feel them pop free. Adjust the mirror so you can peek inside to see the white plastic mounting plate. The attachments are at the 4 corners, Upper left, lower right, etc. As the vehicle gets older, the plastic will get brittle, and I doubt the dealerships will tell you when they are broken, and just reassemble it with less connections, or they will force you to purchase the entire unit, which is still unnecessary. Thank you once again for making the effort to record and post your work for others to learn. I wish I was as gifted in that area.

You asked about what might have melted your mirror. If you parked next to a building with reflective glass during the day, the building can reflect and focus the sunlight, concentrating it like you would with a magnifying glass. You can feel this sometimes if you walk through a patch of light reflected from a building (that it feels warmer than it ought to). If that reflected light was shining on the side of your car, it could have partially melted the plastic on your mirror.
Hi Mark, I think you are right , after that video I was working on another car and my day I smelt my pants burning because the heat ( reflection) from window was right leg. Strange feeling

I had the same wierd view at first . You have to update your browser to view this videao as intended . Once i updated Chrome the video plays flawlessly and you can move the scene around 360. good luck. Thank you for the video my man.

Great video! Easy to understand. I don’t know where you got your mirror cover because I’ve been looking day and night for a right side cover for a 2002 Honda Accord SE four door sedan and can’t find a thing. Only the whole mirror assembly I don’t need. Maybe they don’t make just the cover for the mirror. I don’t have the part number either. Thanks for the video and looking forward to seeing more.
eBay is where I got the cover for the for mirror. Search * honda accord aide view mirror cover" and the also call it a side view trim cap. Good luck and let me know who's it goes. I got my painted directly on ebay but you can get paint in a can for $17 or so that is exact color. Let me know once you find your part.

I have a 2017 Prius Prime and purchased the missing chrome piece between the top and bottom of the passenger side mirror. How do you Install it? Looks like it snaps in, but should I start at the wider side or the narrower? Don’t want to try and force only to have it snap. Thx
Look at the part and it that might help. Just take your time don't force it.

Will this work for 2019 Camry??? I know you can get the mirror covers and just place on top of the existing covers which is held on by 3m tape, but don’t know how secure that will be or have a flush look. Thanks
Shon, if youe plastic mirror cover is broken and you take your time with a plastic trim piece all you to loose is 3 minutes if doesn't. But it could save hours. Just look at the new replacement part and if its just clipped, you have a greater degree of success

What about the bottom blinker portion… how do you instal that? Or what do you need to install it as far as tools go? Any help is greatly appreciated
If you have a blinker installed then it maybe a little more difficult. Is the blinker area cracked? Is there a replacement part? First find the part and that will point you in the right direction as far as your options.

Is there a separate piece for the lower portion of the mirror cover? The part with the silver chrome piece. I need to replace that part as well.
First find that part on eBay or call the dealer to see if the part is available. Once you have the new part in hand then you can know what are you options.

Did you accidentally turn your mirror defrost on during a hot day maybe and there are no vents for the hot air to escape? I heard of cars melting and catching on fire from the reflection off building windows.2021 Toyota RAV4

How about the bottom part . The top and the bottom pastic fell off from car wash . How can put back and be secured ?
You might have replace the how unit pending on the damage. Please inspect the clips on each piece.

Seriously I should of not used a 360 camera for it.
My side mirrors melted as well…. we found out it’s the reflection of the sun off of the windows in the front of our home. We remedied the situation with a special film you can put on the windows to diffuse the light, by the way.

Will this procedure work on a 2010 Honda Accord? Some videos I've seen remove the mirror first.
You should alway remove the mirror assembly but that’s a lot of work and some vehicles it requires removing the door panel. Look on eBay for a replacement part. If you can find the a replacement then there is a good chance your can just pop on the new cover.
I don’t what is damaged on your 2010 honda to give any more accurate information.

@@RANDOMFIX While trying to avoid a stopped school bus when turning right on the street we live on, my wife hit a garbage bin with the passenger side mirror. It broke the housing but not the mirror and everything still works. I already have a replacement that I bought on ebay. The broken one should come off easily as it is no longer fully intact. I'm going to wait for some nicer weather before installing the new one but it should go as easily as it did for you. I appreciate your response and will let you know how it went after I install the new one.

Sure why not? For better results see if the crown is old separately and that way you can be extra sure. Keep me in the loop. Search on ebay or call the Acura dealer.
I got a new door mirror for my Sentra from a "body shop supplies" store. The part fits my vehicle. My intention was to swap the cover / skullcap for my old one, so that the color matches my car. It doesn't fit on there! I can't put it on in a way that it's flush and hard to remove. It slides off very easily. Why would this be?
Did you put in all the clips. Loop at the old part if you have it to see if you broke any clips.
A stupid motorcycle knocked my RAV4 mirror cover off while passing between cars. Thanks for this video showing how easy to put the new one back.

It’s a 360 camera. Just move the phone or cursor on the screen.
The driver’s side mirror on my 2019 RAV4 “melted” in the same way. I have no idea what could have caused it. Dealership refused to replace under warranty. Claimed it was somehow my fault.
Let me know if you ever figure it out. At my house around 10 am the sun shines so perfect off a window it can set a fire. That's my guess after working outside on camper van around that time And try to figure out my I was smelling a burning sense on my sweats. Lol crazy but maybe possible?

The buttom was not changed but I would consider that chrome piece "passenger side mirror trim"

On ebay, it was already paint, brand new from toyota.
if you are replacing the old cap anyway. What about hammering or dremelling it and remove it in pieces? Not all of them come off as easy as yours came off.
I have never hard to do that. Be very careful

It's a 360 camera so you can move it on your pc or just move your phone. This was my first attempt shooting with that camera and I appreciate your feedback.

@@RANDOMFIX already did the job. Broke most of the outer clips and one of the inner ones. The cover will stay on still but not quite as tight as it was before.

Is it the same for a Rav4 2015?
The cover will be different but the idea is same. I was able to swap out the cover in under 5 minutes. Avoid force and don't use metal screw drivers. You can find plastic trim removers everywhere and I think there was a link in the video description.
