    I feel bad for Ospreys honestly, I'm surprised they are not extinct.

      GoshawksI are so brutal and sneaky. They grab and pull ospreys out of the nest so fast. Osprey chicks have no chance, once they're pulled from their nest. 😥😣

      Goshawks will attack the chicks of any other raptor....

    These birds have picked the worst possible place for a nest with all the predators they have to deal with, just the stress alone is not worth it!

    • @kuningas7
      @kuningas7 3 года назад

      Osprey nest at treetops because they have to. They have big winspan and are actually quite cumbersome flyers. Getting in and out of the nest easily necessitates nests that are vulnerable.

    • @RaechelleBennett782
      @RaechelleBennett782 3 года назад

      @@kuningas7 The most predominant reason for building in a vulnerable place like on top of a tree or platform is to see all predation from all angles. Unfortunately, they are not fighter raptors, though they try to defend, and their chicks are easy prey.

      @@RaechelleBennett782 you're mistakenly basing all your information off of a handful of youtube videos. Most raptors do not survive to become adults. They usually starve to death or get preyed on by other predators, especially other raptors.

      @@remyogun8270 On the contrary, I glean my info off official Osprey sites, based on realistic scientific studies. You should too.

      @@RaechelleBennett782 nope...I don't ever rely on one single source of information...that was terrible advice you just gave. Like...what is even an "official Osprey site"...lol. What I stated was very accurate. All raptor species have a high mortality rate and do not survive to become adults...not just Ospreys.

      @@gelirgecer9395 are you slow? I just told you that the Raven didn't actually injure the adult Osprey. It was injured by a tree branch, as it chased the Raven and then killed by a fox. WTF are you talking about?

    Osprey are definitely not fighters! Goshawk had it pinned at the collars, a nice take down move…and did you see it’s eyes? Haunting at best!

      Adult Ospreys will indeed attack intruders

    • @lovefloridanet
      @lovefloridanet 7 месяцев назад

      This Osprey made the mistake of staying in the nest. They need to be in the air so they can use their talons for protection. I watched a female Osprey chase a Bald Eagle away from her nest while carrying her dinner. At the same time, the male that was guarding the nest flew straight up and hovered above the nest until the Eagle was out of their territory.
