    GPT can be so useful but it’s hard to think outside the box to get the most out of it. These three automation ideas will help. You may have noticed that these automation use special nodes 😮. I built them to especially to handle GPT calls and you can try these nodes out too!
    check out chaperone for the automations:

      Hi glad you're enjoying the content! I do a lot of testing so i'm not the greatest litmus test since i making a lot of test calls. But to give you a general idea, when i was casually using the system rarely went over $5 a month but since i do a lot of testing i spend about $10 - $20 per month.

      @@technithusiastwhat do you think about extend_openai_conversation ? Seems like the easiest yet most capable way for users to integrate OAI. Simple HACS repo and done. Still crazy powerful just not as customizable but you can still expose any entity you want and use OAI’s functions with adequate prompting. If I’m not mistaken FutureProofHomes dropped a decent YT tutorial on it. One with your twist would be dope.
      Also what about running a local unaligned/ open sourced model?

      @@ChrisS-oo6fl so I definitely saw his video and checked out the project and I’m a fan. One of the thing I would like to work on is creating a native HA integration like extended OAI. In our members group, we’re putting on the final touches to our node red version and will release a video soon. I’ll add in a section telling folks about the extended OpenAI version too

    I love the ideas, would'nt gpt costs skyrocket at some point, i'm a bit hesistated cause i have no idea how fast it will ramp up. I have a chatGPT membership but not an openai.

    • @technithusiast
      @technithusiast  8 месяцев назад +2

      So the cost isn’t that bad but of course you can decide that for yourself as your requirements and needs for your smart home is different from mine. But I can speak from my experience. I built a node red plug-in to communicate with GPT which required lots of testing and api requests. In the height of testing I made over 1000 requests during that month and spent less than $10. On average I make about 250 - 500 requests and spend between $3-$5. But the caveat is that the amount of data you send will affect the price. My node-red AI-Intent nodes innately encourages users send small specific information to GPT which keeps costs reasonable.

      @@technithusiast thanks for the answer. Maybe I will continue my journey then cause it’s more that I want to know how to do it and how it works then that I’m really gonna use it I think. Can it also be done with discord?

    • @technithusiast
      @technithusiast  8 месяцев назад

      I like you inquisitive spirit. I’m not too into discord but I do believe discord allows webhooks so GPT could send 1-way messages to discord.

    Would love some more content for "Parenting Smart Home / Home Assistant". I have a 3 year old as well. I recently built an NFC reader and cards that play my daughter her favorite shows. I also paired that with "time cards" so I can give her different amounts of screen time before the tv shuts off. I also put together a simple chores app but I am not sure if I am going to put it into play yet.
