    "Unique and impractical" is my specialty, in my wife's opinion.

    Thanks for the vid. With Matter updates and smart homes becoming a tiny bit more interconnected via thread radios, and Home Assistant maturing, im finally looking to jump in. Right now I just have matter supported smart plugs for basic stuff and want some ideas. I think im gonna start with Apple HomeKit which I might regret being an Android phone user. But for home home automation I think this with a cheap iPad and their Shortcuts with Home Assistant to fill in the gaps is how im gonna start. Looking forward to it. Peace

      I haven’t started playing around with Home assistant yet, but that seems like the way to go. Amazon Alexa has been very good for me for years though.

    I like the use of putting them on chairs. I was thinking about putting them on a washing machine to know when it’s finished washing the clothes, as if I’m watching a movie I never hear it finish.

    I have an Aqara sensor in the drawer of my coffee station table, when I pull out the drawer to get the hand grinder, the lightstrip overhead goes on - best use of a vibration sensor I have found for my home

    I actually put one on my shower handle, anytime I turn the shower on, my exhaust fan automatically turns on. I have a Lutron Claro on the exhaust fan, so I have it set to turn off after an hour so it doesn’t stay on for an extended amount of time

    I like the tap on the picture frame use. I use one mounted to the back of my mailbox in a custom 3D printed case. It's been there for over a year now with no issues. I might have to use the under the table automation

    I’m currently working on one of these to go on my dryer. Once it feels the dryer on it sends a message to my Apple TVs the dryer is on. Then, after it stops, it sends a message dryer is done.

      I can't get it to work. Once the vibration is triggered, it doesn't keep triggering afterwards.

    • @IntellihomeSmartDIY
      @IntellihomeSmartDIY  Месяц назад

      @@BrendanByrne-it9uz I just built a test automation to simulate what you’re trying to do… I had to create a recording and save it in Apple Music, then create a scene to play that recording on my Apple TV, then create an automation to trigger that scene once the vibration stops on the sensor.
