I make candy apples and you only need to take the mixture to 300 degrees.
Exactly! At 320 the sugar is burnt and produces a bitter taste. Should pour the liquor in at 300 and then just bring back to 300. 320 is too high

Silly Question: Does the alcohol content cook out of the candy (can kids have them).
No kids can't have it but you can always not add the liquor to make it kid friendly.

If you want to make them for kids just don't add the alcohol to the recipe.
So alcohol boils well below 310, so most likely most boils off

I tried to add the liquor at the end and it burnt 😭
It works best if you slowly poor it in, a little bit at a time.
One more ?please , can I add extra liquor , because I made it put I don't taste the liquor
You might not taste it but it's in there. It's like a mixed drink were you don't always taste the liquor but it's in the drink.
