Nah, 299x, MAYBE 298x. Think about the difference between you being weightless 0x, and you normally 1x. That's the difference between 299x and what he just experienced. He could stand but it was tough just beyond his capability. 299 would be him feeling roughly 170 lbs lighter than what he could just barely lift. Imagine ~170 less than your current max squat... It would be a breeze.

During this scene I think Yamacha may have been stronger then when Goku initially went up to 100x He’s spent a bit of time on King Kai’s planet which is 10x and all of the events leading up to dbs. If he had done more training he should have been the one to take master roshi’s or tien’s spot on the team, since realistically freiza was going to be on the team anyway.
He was a bit stronger than Burter and Recoome. 100x gravity wouldve crushed Ginyu. So Yamcha is extremely lucky he survived long enough to turn it off. I always tought it wouldve been hilarious if they found him the next day and had to scrub him off the floor 🤣

This is nothing more than an inconsistent plot error. Yamcha here is nowhere near Goku in Frieza saga. In reality, the 300x would kill Yamcha nearly immediately, and he wouldn’t be able to turn off the button. But for the sake of plot and wanting to show him competing with Vegeta, the writers allowed him to barely turn off the 300x.

Also if you're talking about Krillin using destructor disk that's a terrible example since it's been stated it can cut through anything as demonstrated numerous times. So your using that for Majin Vegeta doesn't hold up.

Saiyans biologically are meant to deal with gravity 10x stronger than humans and have things like zenkai boosts. Yamcha would never catch up.

Kudos to yamcha for a feat like this honestly, its a testament to how tough he really is. Its a real shame the enemies he ends up going against are absolute planet or higher busting monsters and he just gets outclassed

Imho everything after Namek was poorly written. Toriyama even wanted to take a break and work on other projects, but his bosses kept pushing him to make more DBZ content. Everything after Garlic Jr. was a cheap attempt to recreate Goku going super for the first time. I know this is a VERY unpopular opinion.

Go lift your maximum weight, then train and lift your maximum plus one kg eventually you’ll reach a point where you can no longer add than one kilogram and you’ll notice the time it takes to earn those increases increases. Saiyans biologically are meant to deal with gravity 10x stronger than humans and have things like zenkai boosts. Yamcha would never catch up.
Goku in namek saga while training was struggling with 100x so this isn't bad for yamcha

To yamcha’s credit he stood in 300X earth gravity for a bit and managed not to fall all the way down to his stomach or back AND get far enough to turn it off and not die. As far as humans go yamcha is an absolute beast. Especially considering the only gravity training he had done up to that point was only 10X gravity. Kudos to yamcha for a feat like this honestly, its a testament to how tough he really is. Its a real shame the enemies he ends up going against are absolute planet or higher busting monsters and he just gets outclassed

The thing is... he took it. Several seconds under 300g is crazy. Vegeta had to work his way up to 450g, Yamcha just said "fuck it" and dialed it all the way up.

Imho everything after Namek was poorly written. Toriyama even wanted to take a break and work on other projects, but his bosses kept pushing him to make more DBZ content. Everything after Garlic Jr. was a cheap attempt to recreate Goku going super for the first time. I know this is a VERY unpopular opinion.
