What are your questions on creating a photo story?

Many thanks for the tips. They are all important factors for successful photo work. However, I would add one more tip: Take photos of what moves you personally. Subjects that move you emotionally and that you can immerse yourself in offer you a lot of positive energy.

Enjoying this! How do you get away with shutter speeds like 1/60 when shooting moving people?

    Thank you, Bess
The skills that you bring, of doing research, building trust, and collaborating with the subject are so important. In the last three months, I have seen a lot of rude behavior by photographers, fighting for positions, blocking each other's view, and stopping the parade to get a photo. They seem to forget that owning a camera does not give them the right to abuse others. They forget that when they behave badly, they make it harder for us to gain trust. When they cause harm in pursuit of a photograph it makes it harder for us to build collaboration with our subjects. When they make themselves the center of the story instead of serving the community, it makes it harder for us to gain access. And when they assault or bully to take a photo, it makes it harder to gain permission and impossible to create a collaboration.
