RIP the RGB ☠️ 😂
I’m curious: what’s a channel you’ve found recently that has the momentum factor going on?
Mone at www.youtube.com/@mone42 has a journey of starting a company from scratch. Records cold calling and booked his first client not too long ago. What got my attention was the $0/month graphic that he hoped to raise.
Rynsey ASMR
RUclips education channels are exploding right now
I have no idea how to gauge if my growth is good, meh, or somewhere in between, but I posted my first video to this channel about eight weeks ago and am at 1.2k watch hours, 26.8k views, 190 subs. I know every channel is different, but I'm having a blast. Your help has been AMAZING! Thank you for the insights, tips, and inspiration.
@@therationalworkforcethat’s so good 🎉
SO GLAD you kept the “howdy howdy!” Micro dopamine hit every time lol
I love the outro. I didn't see that coming. 😂😂😂 Thank you, Nate. Your videos are always full of gems.
That “Well Dang!” Had me on the floor😂😂😂 I had to stop cleaning the boat and comment! Well Done Nate! 🤙🏾
Spread your wings my man. I don't know what you're expecting from your youtube career, but the reality will probably exceed that expectation.
There's a long road ahead with big potential...
Nate, I don't need advice.. Sometimes I care, most times I don't. I just like your creations and explanations of what you think or on how things work. I think you're great.
I love how you're letting yourself be a lil' bit silly in this video. Really made me smile :) Excellent advice, too, as always!
Nate - our channel has been growing and I'm so appreciative of all your vids. Very helpful, I so appreciate the practical examples and the casual but effective delivery. Thanks! -J
Not me jumping out of my chair a bit to see you feature a fellow artist RUclipsr :) Sarah and I did a fab collab a bit ago. She's awesome.
Alright, the universe is definitely giving me a kick in the pants to start some kind of long-term RUclips project. Between this, my reading Pat Flynn's "Superfan's," and my husband's suggestions, it's high time!
Go for it!

DO IT 😮😂
I followed you over from Channel Makers because you were the reason I was watching in the first place. I was not disappointed. Your last few videos have been on another level.
Nate, I really do love your new channel. It's fresh and new...You may just have found your "x factor channel"❣ Way to go❣
Well dang! thank you 😊
I noticed that whenever I would click on a video on suggested, it usually resonate with my current circumstances or topics I want more answers from. I would choose the title and thumbnail that resonate with me most
Haha! Nate, you've caught me at the end of each of your recent videos. Way to keep us watching until the last millisecond! I'm going to work towards this as I start making more vids.
The "breaking the 4th wall" is the one thing we really, really need to work on. It's just not a natural thing to do...more opportunity to grow tho! Thanks Nate!
I agree with everything you said and that last part really hit home. I had a huge momentum swing over the past 3 months and am currently over 20k subs and 5 million views... but i was feeling a bit burnt out. I have several other channels as well and have posted well over 3k videos in the last 10 years. So i decided to just take a week for me. No YT at all. Didnt even pull up my YT studio app and that was the first time in... idk how long. But i took the time to do some other passions that i dont really have the time to do and it just cleared my mind and refreshed me and i came back last week with this renewed and excited feeling and i think that came through my videos. Thanks foe the great content. Came from channel makers when u were there but i followed u over and have been here since day 1 on this channel. Love your enthusiasm and passion. 👊
The most guttural "boop the like button" I've ever heard lmao great stuff Nate!
Thanks for the video Nate! I definitely need to work a bit on my momentum factor! I known exactly what I need to do it’s just need the time to execute and experiment!! 😅😄
Great video Nate 👍🏾👍🏾
I really love Bria Jones and only discovered her a few weeks ago! Glad you featured her channel as a great example of how to talk to your audience. I find her very inspiring.
Love the advice and I can tell how much you're enjoying yourself on this new channel! Keep up the great work, Nate!
The true gold, speaking as a geezer, is your final message. Thanks, Nate! ❤
Just binge watched all your videos on this channel!
Thanks Nate! Always good stuff. The value of your insight and perspective never comes up short.
I like this, very fresh take on what works, I especially love that you are encouraging to make videos about things you enjoy as this seems to be the key to longevity. This is a concept I heard MKBHD talking to Colin&Samir about, the fact that he's very glad that he didn't go viral in the early days because that could have made him chase that one video and repeat it, instead of developing the style that he's been able to develop over the years.
glad to see you growing gang, your channel dope
This is such a great video Nate. You have found your voice on your new channel and I love it, it’s totally you in so many ways🎉 I always learn something new from your brain. keep up the amazing work and I love the direction that your channel is going in
Well dang, thank you 🙏
I echo your sentiment @ThePlantPoweredRunner; Nate has set a positive example that reflects- "the past is the lesson and the future is wide open" my words about his attitude, love it! Thank you Nate!
@@ThatNateBlack always Nate. You bring a fresh outlook and a fun one at that. I’ve been doing my best over the years on my channel. It’s not always easy and every week is different but I’ve looked at you evolve and it’s been an inspiration😊🎉🙌. Keep moving forward my friend I’m really loving these videos
This Video Slapped so hard! The subject matter and example was so relative to my channel! I have reached out to people from the LEGO RUclips Community but I'm struggling to get any descent response from my piers. This is dis-heartening but it doesn't deter me. Hopefully as my channel grows and my skills and presentation improves I may have more luck communicating with my piers! Great Video Nate
This video made me laugh and smile! I shared it with my accountably group of content creators and told them I want to here some "well dangs" from now on. Thank you for the insights and presenting it in a lighthearted and effective way.
I'd like to share something else that, at least for me, is working quite well: using your video to provide something useful, answer a question, generate curiosity, and build anticipation. I have followed this procedure of checking if my videos offer something valuable, and it's yielding positive results. Don't just tell something; instead, give something that the viewer can benefit from!
💯 to this
Congrats on the 100 subscribers
Very good. I have been doing this lately and it is paying off slowly but surely. ❤
IT IS TRUE. I MADE IT.
Yes, absolutely!
Your channel definitely has the momentum factor! You are so entertaining and educational. Keep up the good work Nate. I am still new to this, but I am hoping to learn how to grow my audience and channel by watching your videos. 😁
Ace content Nate 👏 Loving the new backdrop lighting too!
Thank you for all of your incredible wisdom Nate!! You’ve helped me dramatically improve my videos in a short amount of time!!
You are on freaking fire Nate! So appreciate your amazing content and help with growing on RUclips.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I just got my first few subscribers, that aren't family members ;-) on my first 12 video's! Super happy about that and it gives me the motivation to get better and keep improving! Thank you Nate for all your helpful advice!
my verbal response to your ending... " Youuuuu cheeky ....mumbles nonsense slur" hahah. Legend, thanks for your insights and help. Looking forward to using them! All the best, God Bless.
The last 10 RUclips shorts on my channel are rated 10/10. DANNNNNNGGGGGG
If you *do NOT* keep the "Well, daaaang,!" *switch "Well, daaaannnngg!" I will be so sad. That literally had me cackling. I hope you had fun ringing that one up, bc you KILLED it!
Good morning Nate! You are dropping knowledge and I am picking it up!😘👍🏽 Thank you for all this great information.
gotta say, while i wish i had mental capacity for applying all the growth strategies, i just dont right now, and well, i'm gonna take it slow and steady, just growing a little at a time. thanks for the video!
I've gained almost 1k subs over the past month and I would directly attribute it to the points you talked about. Once the momentum builds up, everything becomes so much easier.
Congrats 🎉
Dude, this channel is CRAZY! The fact we get this information for free is amazing! I want to get my channel up and running with REGULAR posts but it's been difficult to START! I have content planned, just haven't gotten around to it.. I will soon! Thank you very much man, God Bless you!
Nate, I’ve been a critic of some of your videos/ways with the channel makers (only bc I really do think you have a great/unique analytical brain and process and wanted to point out a few things that have bothered me in the past) but this video my man…home run ⚾️!! You get one of these probably every 5 or so videos…but when you get them boy do you get them. Congrats. Much love.
Spot on wisdom as always Nate! I've been doing this without really realizing it, trying new interesting things every week, collaborating with bigger creators, trying more audience interaction and approaching them with plenty of candor, and grinding a bit too hard. Thankfully, I got a few days rest over the weekend and I'm jumping back in now!
RIP RGB!!! You served us well!! LOL Man Nate...this was as always VERY needed. That "Drowning in Dead Grass" thing is REAL.
Thank you Nate!! Our momentum is up on our channel, luckily there is always something new to do and be excited about on a farm!
this video is on my list of rewatch, i am so happy to see you happy!
Great video, Nate! Love how informational and engaging this is. Really valuable stuff 🤩
Like DANG! Your endings are breaking All the Rules! But I love it and it makes it clear that you are having fun and just riffing with us. Like DANG! what if I did this type of ending? Like DANG!
There's merit to "drowning in dead grass" and I totally get it. It's like drowning with overwhelm and sinking, stuck between dry spikey strands, and you're exhausted trying to hack your way out of it. It totally fits, Nate, and I've been there!
I'm going to re-watch again and take some notes. Thank you, Nate! BOOPED IT!
Great video Nate, loving this new channel!
I HATED that ending! 😂 I'm so glad you stayed you on your new channel ❤
But I have a video request: Gaming! Could you make a video on how to stand out and succeed in that crowded niche.
Great video!! I was feeling down about the slow growth of my channel..but now I’m ready to keep going!
Thank you Nate! Your channel is such a cool find 👏🏻
No hate to the other channel at all but I am glad to see you on your own. You have worked hard to get this credibility. 🎉
Great video mate! It seems you are showing way more of yourself! Way more natural and relaxed. Seems like you have made a good decision. I am happy for you mate!
Really appreciate all the information you give Nate! One thing I did notice was that the first two channels felt very similar to me. The tone,editing- almost spectacle like. Would be interesting to see you go over channels like Natalie Lynn, Valspire family or life of Riza. Would love to hear your thoughts on those types of videos!
I’ve been at it for 10 years. Cartoons almost weekly for the last 5, I average one sub a day, but still enough growth to keep going. I’ve been waiting 10 years to blow up, someday hopefully.
Absolutely love your content Nate!
This video is a smidge quiet though. Even other videos have a regular volume for me so I'm thinking it's not just me but I could entirely be wrong. Just wanted to mention either way :)
Thank you for this very well thought, documented and illustrated video! I even subscribed to all the videos you used as examples.
I wonder why he turned off comments on his last video 😖🤔 we would love to have an explanation.
Awesome as usual, thank you so much! Also your face when you realized the light went out haha. And thanks for putting some emphasis on mental health❤
Thanks for your passion to share your insights with us. I'm not always sure that I understand your videos 100 % because of my lack of English skills. But what I understand is useful for my life as content creator.
Man your videos are the bomb diggity 🎉 every time I have questions or my brain gets confused with the whole RUclips world you nail it on the head every time 👏🏼 I really love at the end what you said about coasting that’s super important ✨ I think I started putting pressure on myself thinking I need to get this many videos out every single week or I’m going to fail everyone but with life sometimes it can be tricky and that pressure eases off when you remember that hey it’s okay to coast for a bit ☺️ I love that ✨ hope your having an awesome week Nate! big hello from Sydney, Australiaaaa woop woop ☺️
I noticed you showed the channel introductions as great examples. You've inspired me to take the time to make an engaging and fun video for people who come across my channel for the 1st time.
RIP the RBG lol.
I've been looking into a few different projects that I would be interested in making videos about for a new channel and this came at a great time. Thanks again for the information, you always provide helpful advice and I look forward to your videos.
Fantastic content as always Nate! Great to see you doing your own content!
Love the video, especially for me, the part about finding something you're passionate about. I burned out on tutorials, and am trying to find some less exhausting material that will still work with my audience.
Great video as always :) Don't think I don't know what you were doing with your ear buds :P Also TY for what you recently done. I really enjoyed and feel more focused with a direction in mind going forward. Plus I just hit 10k yesterday so overall good time for me. Thanks again!
Thanks for this Nate, I'm so glad you're keeping your momentum going :) I'm working so hard on my craft channel and of all the tips I find on RUclips, yours are the most real and actionable for me personally
Ive started using this tip in my videos, im in a very specific niche, and only have 6 videos so far, but i plan on branching out to other niches, Nate, your helpful videos are so helpful to me. I even have notebooks with your tips written down, and i apply them in my videos, Thank You,
Thanks Amigo !!! Very good points ... I'm still learning so keep-um coming !!!!
Thank you Nate for giving me permission to coast!
Thanks, Nate! I happen to be in a niche where everyone in the community is always breaking the fourth wall, working on big projects, and connecting with one another. The trick then is how to do those three things in a way that stands out from the rest! Lots to think about - thank you for this! Especially the permission to coast. =)
Boom 🎉! Use your unique personality; can’t be replicated
@@ThatNateBlackGreat advice.❤
Hi Nate,
I'm so glad you started your own channel. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. Have a fantastic day.❤🎉😊
Love your videos so much. Happy to see the return of the boop! 🎉
Having something exciting going on in the background even if it's just your own excitement for how things are going is huge.
Hey Nate, I totally hear you with the “Grand Caution” business… ive just come back after taking a month off RUclips. I took your advice from channel makers and scheduled it in with lots of notice, and I made a “im going on a break vid” plus another one as a Premier link for the day when I I tended to come back… it’s worked quite well. I actually went up 40 subs during my break rather than my channel imploding. I’ll definitely schedule another break in future… gotta prevent the burnout!!
Great callouts.
We're working on our first listener mail episode this week.
Definitely a departure from the first 10-12.
Definitely struggling with thumbnails though. Neither of us has PhotoShop experience.
Nate, I agree with your take on the momentum factor. One thing I've always been curious about and I've never seen anyone address it: LUCK. How much does luck play a role in the success or failure of a channel? By luck, I primarily mean exposure given by the algorithm. As we all well know, the youtube algorithm works in mysterious ways and we're all at the mercy of it. There are definitely ways to get the algorithm to work in your favor, but sometimes despite a creator's best efforts, they're channel just never becomes successful. I've seen this with so many channels. No disrespect here, but given the same niche, I've seen many low quality videos from overall pretty low quality channels who don't seem to try very hard, achieve much higher degrees of success than creators that seem to really care and put everything they have into their channels and create great content. I've come to the conclusion that there exists a fair amount of luck involved that nobody seems to want to admit. Given the same niche, why does the youtube algorithm pick up lower quality videos in favor of high quality ones? I would love to see you address this in one of your videos and get your take on "the luck factor" if such a thing exists. Thanks Nate!
Really enjoying your videos as I learn this platform and work to grow my yoga channel. Keep them coming!! 🤗
Thanks Nate! This resonates with me so much. I've started my channel as a way to showcase how art and nature has been therapeutic for me, but I'm not what you would call overtly 'an online person.' I hoped a few people on the internet would see my art, and maybe even be inspired by it.
I think because its my great passion in life to create abstract art, sharing them, and my excitement to keep bringing new works (and inspiration and VALUE) has proven exactly what you're advising. I didn't realize its what I'm doing, but by asking questions and making my viewers feel welcome, I'm breaking the 4th wall ... Just literally this morning, a cherished regular visitor of my channel posted a photo of ART on her community tab on HER channel, saying that to see the art reminded her of me and my art inspiration. It was the first thing I saw, and feel so humbled and surprised for the heartfelt mention.
To all who is reading this long comment, its true, all of the tips is this video gets it leveled up, and I myself will focus more on doing these specific things AND taking care of the mental health too. Thank you Nate! 🤠🤠
Nate I just want to thank you so much for your valuable content. I'm currently on a channel Binge and working my way thru every video. Still waiting to find a video that isn't super valuable 😂. Thanks for all you do! Sounds like you are a top notch dad too!
Keep up the great work! Love your personality!
My son loves that lego channel you reviewed. Thanks for another great video!
I'm totally drowning in dead grass. Gotta get that momentum factor going. Thanks for another great vid.
Funnily enough, this is exactly what I’ve been trying to work towards recently but got stuck back in burnout in the process. It’s really hard to take breaks for me and YES, I absolutely do feel like I need people’s permission to take a break.
I’m in an odd spot right now because I decided to open a second channel since my main audience on this channel doesn’t seem to be interested in my recent content. I wanted to try and open up this new channel with a bang and release a bunch of exciting content, but burnout has me stuck in bed with exhaustion. This does give me a unique opportunity though because since I haven’t uploaded anything on the new channel, there’s nobody waiting for me to upload and so I’ve made myself take a break for the last week. I don’t feel much better yet but I have been able to get other stuff done that’s been sitting on the side lines. I don’t think that I can make content in this state for very long so maybe it’s a good idea to just chill out until I feel better again (I do have a therapist to help with this, burnout is serious). Though I am still debating whether I should upload the first video already or whether its better to wait until I know I can publish more somewhat soon after.
I’m glad to see that while I may not be in the best spot to make stuff right now, my content brain has been starting to pick up on what you talked about in the video on it’s own. And that’s definitely also thanks to you!
Thank you Nate! I finally launch my channel. 2 years behind schedule but finally have. You have been a great help.
Thanks for this video Nate! Love your pasion for explaining these things to us. Regards from Argentina
Adding to my previous comment: thanks for the super cool and great insight, but again I’ll have to remember that for later when my channel is actually a bit larger, so that I can try to apply it!
5:08 couldn't care less about colored pencils but that intro was phenomenal, such a feast for the eyes!
thank you nate!! i always learn something from you. 🥰
Great tips on this one, Nate. Thank you!
Omg! I have Sara's prototype color cube too!! She's definitely an inspiration
Nate you are awesome my friend! I try to watch every vid you make and you have taught me so much. Still learning as I go and nothing wrong from that. I feel RUclips is learning something new all the time and I love it. I will try this method what you have is and see how it goes. Dang…..😂😂😂
hey Nate i enjoy your videos i learned a lot and also going through a journey of building a youtube journey
Thanks especially for mentioning the time to coast Nate
Dang! And that colour cube should be on the shelf in the background. It'll look odd but that's the point.
Love this channel. Nate is great. I think the thing that makes you different from the other RUclips gurus. Well especially now that you're not part of some whatever. Could even back then is that you care about the mental health and I relate to that. And then you also get all the cool tricks and tracks. And I think better because you think of the nuances rather than just the data. Love it.
