- Today we are looking at the iconic 62 Mas duo, the 39.5 mm SLA043 vs the fresh 37 mm accurate reissue. A lot of sweat, a lot of money, but this is an honest side by side. Hope you enjoy it! Andrei

Some how the smaller one has more charm, I like them both but the SJE wins it for me.
I have the SJE093, I reel life it looks totally amazing and more special than my submariner. I love to where it with a T-shirt. Looks super classic without anybody trying to stab you for it.
The stabber could be a Seiko fanboy… just saying
Or those sharp nipples
😂😂😂😂😅
Lol 😆
🤪🤣😵💫😆😂😝😜😜😜😑😑😑
Every since I got the 093 I haven’t even thought about buying another watch but honestly I wouldn’t mind trying the 043 tbh great video ❤
Looking forward to the new 40mm SPB watches in June. Maybe I’m glad i didn’t buy the spb143 after all. Love theses watches, just to much Canadian dollars😢
The new one has good and bads. But I can't judge until I see one in flesh. Cheers!
Seiko 62MAS vs Aquastar Model 60 Re-edition @ US$1390 with an LPJ G100 68hr power reserve calibre & 200m WR - would be a good match up of 2 historic dive/skin diver watches.
You have in your hands one of the greatest divers ever made. The 62MAS is a true icon!
Andrei, turn off the AC, i think it's a bit chilly în your studio 😅
No bra day :)))
It’s a Manzier!
LOL!

My SJE093 is my favorite modern watch.
You can build these yourself for well under 500. Thanks mate!
Love these watches but the price point is way off
Congratulations on the SJE093.
For me, it's the closest to the original 62mas and that's why I bought it.
By the way, I think the original strap is great and it fits the watch perfectly.
Own both the SLA017 and SJE093, 017 is on my wrist, 093 sits in the box. Too small for most wrists out there mine included, also the dial on the 093 feels “pinched” and much busier due to to the fact everything is more condensed. 017 to me at least, feels more proportioned and balanced design.
Cheers.
Seiko needs to make a 62mas with these dimensions with a Spring Drive
I absolutely love both of these pieces but the 2 combined cost more than my first car!!!! 😳
I wish Divecore straps had a 19mm for these
I love my SLA043… but I prefer the larger size on my 7.25” wrist. Glad to have multiple options.
I like both
They are nice both :) yes
I think you should check out the Seiko SBDX041 , its a 300 peice limited edition of the 62mas case design JDM only . Some beams film’s collaboration. Its the 62mas case design in every brilliant steel with polished sides, 8L35 movement, 39.9mm diameter and the star of the show being a matte black dial with a colour matched black date wheel (very rare ) and a black bezel . This is a hidden gem and one of my Seiko grails . Please do check it out and this might be a potential buy( perfect 62mas) for you while selling the SJE093.
Pure sje
Love Seiko, but beginning to love Wise more
Im starting to like a lot of brands more than Seiko 😂
Wearing my ad8 as I’m reading this lol, cheers! 🍻
I have the SLA037, kind of wish I had the sje093. Mine is pretty thick
The 037 is better, I’ll never sell mine
I prefer Captain Willard SLA033
1:53 you are so right! After owning both the real deal and the sla017… I can confirm ;)
Thank you for the great video.
4000 USD, crazy, no way.
Sje093 is beautiful
I got a SLA043 on a Black Friday deal. 30% off. Like the watch, hate the straps.
I have mine on a strapco vintage style ladder bracelet. Works for me
I love my SLA043… but I prefer the larger size on my 7.25” wrist. Glad to have multiple options.
please new Bulova marine
Great watches 👍
Thank you! ❤️
I would beg Grand Seiko to take my money if they make a watch with a Spring Drive into a 62MAS inspired case....
Wow what a beautiful watch!
Carini ma non rientrano nei miei gusti
1:15 that is very very true ….
Fine review. Gotta go for the SLA……But Andrei ….did you say 9 (NINE!) beats per second on the Sje? Wow, if so!
Are there any rumors about a next version of the SJE093? Perhaps with a blue dial.
Both nice watches. Already have the sla043. Not interested in another similar watch. It seems like people are gouging on prices with the sje. Asking too much for them. Think the sje is a nice one, just not for me.
Ive got the sla043, its a great watch . The 093 is lovely too , but is too small for bigger guys.
4:15 phuck! I like em both!!!! Hard to decide
Get them both :D
I’ve been hoping a channel would compare the two References. I own an SJE093 and love it. Cheers 🍻
Great video. Love the attention to detail.
Both being to small for my wrist , I’d go for the Willard!
4:25 i love it when u do that :)))
🍺
SJE is the best of these reissues. But that price though feels at least a grand too much. Maybe Seiko will start releasing more affordable "reissues" in that size and proportions though which would be nice. Maybe with less expensive movements.
SLA043 vs 40mm submariner
Amazing video ! What are the straps you have ? I struggle to find cool 19mm rubber straps
You can try delugs cts or a tropic strap from tropic straps themselves
6:05 LOL :))) so true
Yes
Thoughts on the SPB453?
Klein Mills
0:46 that’s me too!
Especially you :D
Right up my alley with this vid … and then some! Plan to watch it twice :)
Limited edition + grand seiko pricing, another joke by seiko. For the mindless seiko collectors only.
I’m in.
😅
awesome review
i love my sje093. I have a 2 watch collection at the moment with the other being the spb143. I love them both and neither of them replaces the other. A few corrections: The case size is 38mm/12.5mm thick and the lume pip at 3 is a newer iso requirement, not older.
2:08 worst thing that seiko all looks same because ether use same dial with little no changes to it which doesnt make difference in look . so its crazy to spend more than £600 on it. sbdc051 999 and sla065 2100 hahah how? no way blue colour and rubber strap cost 1200 extra
Haha! True!
Proud SJE093 owner
Definitely the 39mm, my friend! Starting with the BB 54 (I'm a BB 58 proud owner), I find the small size divers hype a little bit too much. I really don't like the way they look, even on a man small wrist... let's say, starting from 16cm.
Anyways, thank you for your content, always interesting and very well done!👏
Totally agree with you mate , the small watch and small divers propaganda going on in social media since the last few years is insane . The way people talk about the bb54 saying it looks perfect in wrists upto 7 inches or around 18 cm , you must think it’s the greatest thing ever. Seeing all the hype i went to try in on my 6.8 inch flat wrist with a wrist span of around 55 mm , i was severely disappointed lol . Did not live upto the hype at all and looks so small and dainty , the dial was microscopic lol. The least i can go on my wrist is 39mm for divers !
I would like one of these in 41.5 mm and 20mm, like the model a lot but they look silly on my wrist
Large wrist? Marinemaster then :)
@@BraveBeatersI got the SPB077J1EST, 44mm, that one fits me well 😅
I prefer the SJE093. But I can’t justify the price. I feel Seiko has some rip-off watches, and the 62MAS would be one of those. You’re not getting several times more watch than a Prospex SPB143. King Seiko is another rip off. Essentially Seiko is sharing parts and movements in its models and depending on the price category, Seiko may throw in a bit extra but nothing earth shattering to justify the huge jump in price. The irony is the SPB143 has a much longer power reserve than the SJE093. So you’re actually getting less for more money. With Seikos, you really need to know what you’re doing when buying one.
For sure. I agree with you. The price is big for the watch and the packaging, because that one is poor as well. Cheers
Good luck with the 143 isochronism and its subpar accuracy, but we all have our own opinions.
Great discussion--I have the SLA and love it-it's been a constant companion for years-but the thinner/smaller case of the SJE is might appealing. I can't justify having both, but I don't know if I could ever part with the SLA!
that's a very high price tag for a Seiko.
The 37mm Seestern 62MAS is unsurprisingly just as attractive as the Seiko, but for only $150 with $1000 build quality.
If you like the watch but not the price go for the San Martin. Better QC than Seiko. You can pick up the 39mm version for about $160. It even has a Seiko NH35 movement. 😅
Love my SJE, it is a keeper. So glad I avoided the isochronism and resulting subpar accuracy of the 143 although its dimensions and design are very nice. The SJE was designed by the creator of the Grand Seiko design asthetic, with a GS movement that stays perfectly accurate for almost a month on my wrist. Incredible, and a great watch roll companion to my beloved snowflake keeper. If you have a good relationship with a Seiko dealer you won’t pay full price.
Let’s face it, most of us have so many watches that extreme accuracy will never be noticed. So, the spb143 is the most practical choice of all of these models.
@@AnthonyVogt-t3t is extreme accuracy a thing? Either it’s accurate at telling time or it isn’t by far in the case of the 143, I only want one of them.
@@Dadication3 If it’s that important, there’s always quartz.
@Dadication3 Good decision on avoiding the lower end Seiko’s ! I’ve recently fallen in love with Seiko and have learnt all about the brand and their divers in particular and came to a conclusion to completely avoid all the 4r and 6r crap movement watches no matter how I much I like the design, dial etc . I decided that if I would buy a Seiko diver , it would only be the top of the line SLA’s or LX models . I also narrowed down my favourite case design of the divers to being the 1968 diver design and the modern reinterpretations/ evolutions inspired from the 1968 diver. Been in love with the Seiko SLA 055/57/73/73 case design ever since it came out around 2 years ago, but I was waiting for a clean black on black version of the watch and it looks like my prayers have been answered with the upcoming next gen Marinemaster 300 SLA079 , can’t wait to buy my first Seiko SLA diver in the near future!!
@@siddhant46s54 thank you siddhant, we are Seiko brothers I think, I really like the SLA’s too! When the SJE093 came out, being the closest to the original, I had to get it, even though it was a big purchase for me, being a bit less than the SLA’s it was easier to get my wife to agree. I wanted to let you know that my US AD just got one additional SJE in from Japan this week and he let me know in case any of my friends are interested. I got mine from him for 3500 with no tax, in case you are interested. I will forward you his email if you want to inquire with him. Since I got that one being a 62 mas, I think I want to go with the SLA051 next. My dad was a SEAL and always used Seiko divers, so Seiko will always be my favorite choice. That SLA055 is also a stunner!
