    • @rookideetrainer1635
      @rookideetrainer1635 8 месяцев назад +206

just to clarify; yes this is sexual harassment to imply that people are only mad at you because they are (sexually) interested in you.
If you've ever had the comment directed at you, you'd know how degrading it feels in the same way other forms of sexual harassment do. It strips you of your personal dislike of the person and implies that you just want to fuck them, which is so uncomfortable especially coming from a person you've expressed dislike for/uncomfortability around
It's not a "severe" form of sexual harassment, it being more normalized, but it is sexual harassment

I am fully of the belief that when men say this it’s because a child every time they pulled on a girls pigtails the adults around them would rush to tell him and the girl “it’s because you have a crush on her.” I utterly despise the way we socialize our children to conflate harassment and bullying for love, or to think that someone hurting you is ok because they just “like you.” Similarly the way boys are told that the girl they like is only ignoring him because she’s playing “hard to get” instead of teaching them that no means no and how to cope with rejection.

Hey there! My name is Jude and I had the exact tame thing happen to me when I was 17 years old and I was a very avid book reviewer and booktuber. An author called Carroll Bryant reached out to me requesting I review one of his book in exchange for a free copy of his work. I reviewed his work with 3 stars at the time and he became infuriated. He began a months long campaign of harassment against me, sending me constant emails and messages telling me to end my own life among other threats. He eventually ended up releasing a book called Year of the Cat where the protagonist was a mexican serial killer (I'm mexican) and it also had erotic components to it (I was still a minor when all of this happened).
This all went down in 2012 and it was a truly truly awful experience to live with, I'd never felt more alone, violated and preyed upon in what was supposed to be a safe space and community - all because I dared to give a semi-bad review to a male author. I'm not entirely sure if this comment will reach or impact anyone, I just wanted to say thank you for the video and for highlighting something that happens to way too many of us within this community and say that my heart goes out to Hailey. We deserve to be safe and feel safe.

It’s helps fix the mistakes or problematic things you may have in something, but no many creators can’t handle any that I guess🫥

Honestly I think EVERYONE needs to understand the difference between criticism and censorship. It's not even just creatives. It's everybody these days. Especially any conservatives having bigoted opinions. That gamer dude who freaked out last week about Starfield asking what pronouns he wanted to use… He was screaming at the camera, ranting, on the literal verge of tears and then when the entire internet makes fun of his entitled childish temper tantrum he decides that he's being "silenced" but then somehow doesn't see the irony of him publishing a highly visible response video that was watched and reacted to by a ton of people. But sure bro, you're so so silenced.
Literally anytime anyone gets pushback on a shitty opinion they posted online, they go Super-Ultra-Victim-Mode and claim they're being censored and oppressed.
Criticism is not censorship. Freedom of Speech does not mean your speech goes unchallenged, and free speech has nothing to do with the responses of other people, it only really applied to how the government interacts with your speech.

There is no other reason why he would write a statement with werid sexual undertones towards a woman he doesn't know. I bet he wouldn't do this to a man who hated his books. Shaw doesn't want to have a conversation with anyone. His ego has been bruised, and he wants to find a way to one-up the other person.

I 100% agree with everything you said, but will add however that in British English for someone to be ‘moaning’ about something means to complain, whinge, talking negatively about something that bothered you, particularly bat length and/or repeatedly bringing it up. I do agree that within the context of the comment and his creepy harassment including but not limited to his ‘she fancies me’ comments, SA fantasies in his writing about another woman he hates, the title of the book and going on and on about how people sext him their genitals in response to his writing; all of that says the double entendres were at least welcome if not intentional (which I have not reason to believe they weren’t).
Not defending him or denying it, just some linguistic commentary. I hate that he was probably patting himself on the back about writing in a double meaning in order to sexually harass her with some kind of plausible deniability 💀 (as if the rest didn’t already tell us everything we need to know, and a lot we didn’t) as though he hadn’t blatantly and undeniably harassed her so many other times.

If this guy is gonna pretend that he wants a real adult conversation with Haley, then can he at least be GOOD at pretending he wants a real adult conversation? My god it's so obvious he just wants to make it as frustrating of an experience for her as possible while learning absolutely nothing.
He also talked a lot about how Haley was claiming that men can never write women but as far as I can tell she never said that. She just didn't like how he specifically was writing women and he even admitted himself that he didn't know how to write women. So where's the problem?
Crazy how the way he wants to prove that he can write women if he really tries is by writing romance and sex scenes, as if that's the only possible way to write and understand women.
And just because some women like his work doesn't mean his work is good. Some women are fucking stupid, not because they're women, but because, on an individual level, those specific women are stupid. Being a woman makes you more likely to recognize misogyny but it doesn't mean you will be able to recognize it guaranteed. This is why there are so many women who are fighting against women's rights.
Further proof that he doesn't know how to write women and does not understand women is going on a crusade like this and endlessly harassing a woman because she didn't like his book and mentioned it briefly in a video that wasn't even only about his book and then wondering why she doesn't want to go on a podcast with him.

I am a fan of horror (and attempting to write horror) but this guy is THE PROBLEM with the genre. Ppl who declare themselves “extreme horror” writers are almost always just writing torture p*** that are clearly their gross fantasies. Not always, but most of the time.
You can write about dark and twisted topics without being disgusting about it. I’ve read several books about awful topics that didn’t make it a gross fantasy. The fact that he’s so parasocial with Depp and never got Amber’s consent really proves that the original book IS a disgusting fantasy.
Ppl saying “hey, what you wrote was super gross and creepy” should never be met with an “I can write what I want! You’re a monster for wanting to silence me!” That is so fucking stupid and makes all horror writers look like pieces of shit. If you are writing torture p*** (or any piece of literature) you have to accept that ppl will hate it. You have to accept that people pointing out how creepy and shitty your book is IS NOT CENSORSHIP
Fools like this make the whole genre look like a bunch of whiny sensitive creeps.

@@maddychurchhouse4556 I'm quite sure everyone understood that he was desperately trying to be funny - it's obvious that he's making shit up the moment he writes about having sex and being liked by women, because the only women that like him are his sock puppet accounts. However, this "satire" should have never left his head; it's so bad it's not even cringe, it's coma. How does one even come up with this sort of idiocy?

Finding out he wrote an extreme horror story about Amber Heard told me everything I needed to know about this man before I watched the rest of the video.

Not surprising coming from a man in the pro JD camp honestly

@@Bobsaget121 I don't know man, I'm not a superfan of either, but I did watch the trial out of perverted interest... and it does look a lot like Amber was the problem. Not only to Johnny either. And most of her allegations have been debunked as well. She did a disservice to any survivors with her lies and discounting JD is in fact doing the very same.

@@RiesenWuschelAmber heard was NOT the problem. Just cause he won the trial doesnt proof shit. You believe a man 10x richer and powerful than a mere actress can be abused? He has history of violence and abusing people. It wasn't mutual abuse, she retaliated to the abuse.

It's not Misogyny, It's an opinion..... it's her recording him in a depressed state and framing him as a drunk after his mother passed away, and the witnesses to her verbally degrading him around other members on the security & personal employment team (remember the..... excrement.... on the bed?), and her own family has publicly supported Depp during the accusations, and her exposed threats of harassment and lowkey admission to using the Me Too Movement as a gender war because "he's a man" (there was a recorded call), and her on-record past abuse towards her previous partner prior to dating Depp while she simultaneously used accusations that Depp's past partners have refuted and denied for years. That last one is a big reason she lost a lot of legality in proving her case. None of us can prove what happened and even though there's alot of proof Heard was lying about a lot of things there's gaps about others and Depp got exposed for his behavior (to what most of people recognize as losing your damn mind, not justifying just identifying) but at the end of the day I personally believe Amber Heard is not a victim and the courts already decided their resolutions. I can't be a fan like I use to for Depp but I genuinely couldn't work in the same vicinity as someone like Heard let alone AH themself.@ChrisJones-ek2gm
