It's also interesting to note that he never talks about what type of Marksmanship he does, while I assume it's archery due overall context clues, Tozu has apparently shoved a bunch of guns into his room and none of Desmond's FTEs give any hints on what his blackmail actually means either, definitely has a plot-related secret
Well He's the ultimate Marksman, so it's safe to assume he's proficient with everything. I think it was during the trial or rather its introduction post 2 years ago, but his preferred style is Archery if I remember it right. I believe his Blackmail might be in alluding to the way he becomes the Blackened in a future chapter. Desmond, so far, has been the considerate guy of the group, so I think it's going to follow the theme of either a motivation with their families or Him protecting/killing for Eloise given her Ftes which would led with the wording of him baring his fangs for the ones he loves. Maybe he'll even fight against Mara to protect one of the other students.

From Desmond addressing the locked door and it ending with Eloise at the end(even though she didn't say anything) to them pressing Grave together, and their testimony of being in the courtyard together so far the story is making them a duo of sorts. Another reason I think so is how the Eden Team said they won't follow any tropes. This means that the motives of the last chapter might carry onto the newer ones. I think Desmond would be won over by Eloise either giving him her reason to escape or it could be like in THH(I think I'm wrong about where it comes from) were instead of doing an A.A with Desmond, It's Eloise. Or even better (If you're a Desmond Fan) Desmond just tries to throw the trial while covering for Eloise. His blackmail can have mutiple reasons or foreshadowing behind it mainly because this the 1st Chapter so interested to see if they use it like this or not.

For starters.. Yep you are right about desmond and Eloise being closed until now, although I want to add another scene into that. The bunking buddy system scene. We start off with desmond checking everyones lock.. Later Cassidy gets angry at desmond for.. "trying to expose them" and then Eloise tries to defend him explaining his reasoning and that he only wanted to help... Moving on... Desmond is about to say that everyone can choose themselves who they want to bunk with.. But toshiko interrupts with her match making stuff... Eloise tries to protest against her.. But Cassidy also does that and redirects the conversion towards another line.. Ingrid suggests that is better if they divided by gender because strangers would be more comfortable that way.. And Eloise once again doesn't seem happy about it "we A-are splitting it by gender?!" She exclaims... Lastly at the end of the scene.. When the boys go to the dining hall.. The last frame we see is Eloise watching... Just.. Staring in silent as the boys go to the dining hall and the screen cuts to black.. We know how close this two are with the beginning of the trail both of them ganging up on grace.. So maybe she wanted to bunk with desmond but Ingrid and toshiko got on her way... And.. To top it all off.. Is the last piece of his blackmail... Eva has successfully redirected our attention to only focus on the fisrt half, the part about his weapons.. So we would suspect him in the trial.. "with his weapons at hand, desmond guards the only one he trust" Yes he has weapons.. But.. What about "guard the only one he trust?" Who is this someone he trust? Also... "guards" is a very specific wording.... Eloise also seem more confortable with him than with any other person.. So.. What if the only one he trust is Eloise? Even outside the game? We have an peko and fuhuhiko situation on our hand.... Only... Gender swap. Eloise also talks about donating her money to charity.. She doesn't specify what kind of charity and actually becomes defensive about it.. I don't know what kind of charity.. But I am guessing it relates to desmond. Also... Their talents match perfectly with the minigames. We have battle with swords in form of rebbutal showdowns, so Eloise. And we have bullet hell battles in form of argument altercation.. So desmond for the bullet hell battle.

It's insane how I literally did not care for him AT ALL when the prologue came out. I seriously don't know if my taste in fictional men changed drastically in 2 years to the point where he's now my second favorite character in this game 😭

For now, I'm just going to share my thoughts, thank the author for downloading freetimes on RUclips, and also to ask a question in the end))) Basically, I only watched investigations and class trials (the mock one + chapter 1) on official channel, plus some bits and pieces here and there, and despite all that I can say that I really love Desmond. From the first impression I am getting from him, he is actually a really nice and cool guy, but maybe with some skeletons in the closet? Like, I dunno, I just feel that at some point in his life he did something (semi-significant?) he is really, really not proud of? But at the same time, this "something" is not bad enough to put him even in a morally grey category and I truly believe he is a kindhearted person. I hope that he survives the killing game, though I have a hunch that unfortunately he is not going to make it :( I pray that I turn out to be mistaken here. But even if he does end up being dead, I hope he'll make it until chapter 3. It would be great to see him around at least for a little bit longer... Either way, I would be really sad if he dies. Also, I feel like he is kind of underestimated among the fandom and is considered a bit boring, which makes me upset as well :( And, the question! i meaaan, many other characters already have 4 FTEs too (ulysses, wenona, eloise, kai if i remember right, etc.) so i’m not particularly worried about him, i want him to live at least another chapter though
