Thanks a bunch! Without your help I wouldn't been able to open it to clean my daughters remote from yogurt, ice cream and what else. We all know they don't remember what's happened.
I was struggling to disassemble remote due to two hidden screws, thank to your video, I managed to clean inside it and put together.
Thanks, I never would have thought of the tiny screws under the navigation button. Fixed mine , there was some dried liquid on the touch pad inside. Works perfect now, great video.
You can use a very slim flat head screwdriver to remove the circle and place it under the inside of the circle. Since the center of the circle is designed to depress, you’ll be able to get under it. You can used a sturdy credit card and slip it in between the slits front and back case covers. First Remove the battery cover and batteries before you start to separate the case. Separate the case slowly. You can use the same flat head screwdriver to find areas around the case to lift. Use a twisting motion with the screwdriver to slowly ease the case open. It will finally open. Once open, dry it if fell into water. I used a blow dryer on low heat. Mine went into the wash cycle accidentally. Once dry you can start reassembling it. I did not have to clean anything with alcohol since the circuit board is well sealed. Voila, fixed. There are two rubber things that are located in the internal center of the case. They may fall away when you are inspecting the circuit board. There is a specific way to slide them back in. Do this before you close the case. I put them back in wrong and so I had to reopen the case. They are there to support the batteries. They slide into slots and must not obstruct the batteries when they are installed. Remember to put the screws back in when you reassemble the circle/button in the center.

Thank u very much, a battery leakage happened and the remote stopped working, you help me showing how to open it. I opened and cleaned the board with spirit now it's working well.
For those who encounter similar problem, clean with spirit the silver dots beneath the battery casing too.

@@lghayes1000 Hi, Lisa! I ended up hooking a split key ring to my remote, then a small caribiner to the ring and finally tying 550 paracord to the 'biner. That way, if I needed to detach the remote for any reason, it would be very easy. RESULT: I STILL haven't lost my remote! SCORE: 10! Thank you for your question!
This is exactly why I watched this clip! To figure out where put a hole for a key ring so I can put a key finder on it. Where did you end up drilling? I was thinking very bottom corner based on this?
@@robertgonzalez2216 Hi, Robert! I am not sure WHICH remote you have, but I have the one in the video. That being said, I ended up drilling a HAIR RIGHT of center, about 1/8th of an inch from the bottom of the Amazon "smile" logo. Hope this helped! Stay safe!

On mine, the directional ring has slightly different sized nubs on the bottom. If put it back on in the wrong orientation, some of the directions won't work. I think the biggest nub was in the down direction.

What are the parts that fell out at 1:43 ? I don’t know where to put them back . They are two rubber parts
They go in the battery bay to hold the batteries in place
Which way do you put it back in?
I noticed two rubber items fell out. After a bit of trial and error, I was able to find the location where the rubber things go. They need to slide into position in the center of the remote before you close the case. If you look where you put the batteries in the case, you will see two openings where the batteries make contact with each other. The rubber things need to slide in from the inside of the case. Did anyone has been able to use this model with any Echo device?
Well, I certainly got mine apart and cleared out the soda that was stuck in it. However most of the plastic clips on the body are all broken 😕
It cannot be opened without damaging the clips..
@@TechLifestyleaah great design. Would be nice if that remark was added to the video so we don't blame ourselves. Anyway, luckily it can still be closed even if many tiny brackets are broken. And the battery cover slides off/too loose, so a piece of black tape fixes that.

Not so easy as it appears..... I did open it.... It's damn messy
Remote was intermittent because the negative terminal was soldered ON ONE SIDE OF THE PCB ONLY!! But the video should have shown disassembled pieces in greater detail and informative voice comments instead of pointless music as well !!!
