Memories of coming home from college, eating oven chips, beans and pizza and watching TFI Friday before going out on the piss. We were mad for it big time! Now they have the boring Ed Sheeran and music that means nothing to my soul
Huge the crescendo of the 1900s was as progressive as it’ll get. Lot of optimism approaching the turn of the millennium, but then we didn’t really consider it was ending too !
Butler had two good albums behind him with the first two suede albums, however arguably the Second coming was not that great artistically speaking for John. i would say John was better technically and butler artistically.
Never got the hate for The Seahorses - I think it was the release Squire needed post-Roses. Do It Yourself is a superb album, with great guitar and vocal work. The unreleased second album (it's out there in demo form, search for it) was nowhere near as good as the first album, mirroring the poor response to The Second Coming.
Great band, featuring squires best work it was just one constant stream of pure unadulterated liquid mojo. Fact is all the roses reinvigorated themselves with solo careers; right at the prime of their lives while carrying serious reputation at that point so it was incredible on three fronts. Their best stuff around then imo, what a time
This 100% - Squire at his best and with the vocal brilliance of Helme. 2nd Seahorses album sounds very lackluster, even forgiving that it is in its unproduced demo form.
The guitar is hurting even while listening on youtube. He's a genius. But his insecurities managed to destroy 1.5 bands. And Liam will not finish the tour as well.
Best Line up! loved this band! dx

Music industry loves Ed keeps the masses grey
Absolute belter of a track, '97 what a year man. The album version on "Do It Yourself" has a fucking great riff by John Squires on guitar.

We watched this on Fridays getting ready for going out …bought the records went to the gigs , it was the happiest time ever . ❤❤❤
It was a good time to be young and care free.
It was
I was there!
SAW THEM LIVE AT THE BARROWLANDS SQUIRES WAS DIFFERENT CLASS
The GREATEST guitar player in the world fkin class Pat Dublin
chris helme is such a good singer
Lol
Love this song so much gives me goosebumps every time I hear it
Squire is one of the most sullen looking guitarists I bave ever seen, video after video, don't think I have ever seen him smile once
brings back fond memories :-)
Seahorses was the ultimate vanity project for Squires
amazing!!!!! Nycky & Pello xxxxxx
Great tune. Miss the 90s. Fuck the haters☺️
John Squire, f£%kin brilliant
john squire is up there as a great guitarist,he has the devil in those fingers .
Robert Alexander indeed. By far the best of the britpop generation
+Tony Dixon I would agree, but it's real hard to compare him to Bernard Butler, who probably shares the top spot.
id have butler ahead of squire but i agree both underrated guitarists probably because neither cracked america
I think we could argue all day who has top spot ,I am just glad that Britain has produced some of the best guitarists in the world .
Butler had two good albums behind him with the first two suede albums, however arguably the Second coming was not that great artistically speaking for John. i would say John was better technically and butler artistically.
Squire had a late 60's Clapton look to him, and just like Eric he's a great guitarist and musician.
I don’t think squire was a racist like Clapton though
Eric "Enoch was right" Clapton? Screw that guy. Nothing but an aimless noodler.
You should write a book!
modern english folk musis in my ears
So this is what Frodo did after he destroyed the ring...

Yep totally agree.
I've always been ok with loving just one album, regardless of the band.
Feel the same about The Killers Hot Fuss...

Its awful bar 3 songs, songs about weetabix , aliens and bell ends behave, best songs on it are by helme
Sour grapes like the jam fans to Paul Weller...
He Hates Roses, lol
class dont make them like this anymore!!
Censored! :D
John Squire in that band is like pele in a pub team
Not really; more like a medium sized fish in a big pond.
John Lennon was a good drummer here ;p
Looks like Shaun Ryder to me.
@@nellsun2521 Don’t know where you get that from. I bumped into him in Dublin before a show in 97, he was pimping a Lennon Sgt. Pepper look
@@ARyan-nf5my The face.
@@nellsun2521 oh fuck I was lookin at the feet
@@ARyan-nf5my 'The face', as in not the costume /clothes /look.
Frodo done alright for himself after those film jobs Dried up.
timing seems off on this, The guitar starts off ata slighly quicker pace than the singer wants to sing it at.
Singer is always behind the beat, maybe there was a slight delay in his monitor.
Average but squire world class
The guitar is hurting even while listening on youtube. He's a genius. But his insecurities managed to destroy 1.5 bands. And Liam will not finish the tour as well.
Feel so sorry for chris helm here.. John squire over playing again. Its all about me. The very reason they split up.
good tune but pants album... john squire looks typically underwhelmed...
Chris helme is a great singer but he seems nervous here.
Poor man's dodgy with the greatest guitarist from the mid eighties onward
singer not good enough. acoustic guitar? Get in the erm...sea!
