Oh my gosh, this helped immensely on my 03 WRX sedan! I've noticed it most recently driving on the hardened packed snow it sounded like the whole interior was going to rattle apart until I tried this!
Dear Friends, I own a Mahindra XUV in New Delhi, India. After about 2000 km only it started giving exactly the same same sound as shown in this video. But the stuffing of packing material between dashboard and windscreen did not work. The problem was in the BONNET, though simple but causing severe agony to have such repeated sound coming while driving. Putting my review here as it can occur very commonly in vehicles with large and heavy horizontal bonnet assembly, such as in XUV, Fortuner, Endeavor, Pajero, Landrover etc. In any vehicle, the bonnet rests on 3-6 rubber beads to provide cushion from rattling against the metallic body. Some times (though rarely) it may happen that one of these rubber beads gets compressed and disengages from the metal, this will create constant irritating mild squeaky sound as shown in video. Esp it'll become more prominent on braking. All u have to do is to open the bonnet and check the beads' position, if required replace them or re-adjust them, and the sound will go!!!
Thanks, I'll have to try this. Mine is a 2005 left hand drive and yes, it's so annoying that my teeth grind while driving it. I did something very similar with my 2001 Tacoma years ago.
+DANIEL LOZANO did you fix your rattle problem in the Corolla? I just bought a 2015 Corolla S and I have a dash rattle too, coming from the passenger side. Super annoying and I can't handle it. Let me know!
not. i bring the car to 5 times at 2 different dealer. they always say is fixes but few days later the noises coming. impossible to fix, nothing to do.
