STORY BEHIND THE SONG
King David may have been the author, but this Psalm always reminded me of Jonah in the belly of the great fish..."if I make my bed in the depths of the sea, You are there..."
David knew from childhood on that God was WITH him. From the fields at night, tending his father's flock of sheep while predators lurked in the shadows, to playing music for a demon-possessed King, David felt God's presence with him. From defiantly standing up to Goliath, to his days hiding in the desert for his life, David knew the God of Israel had never left him. The intimate and even mundane details of his day were never unknown to the LORD.
This fact brought David great comfort. The Creator of the stars wove us together in our mother's womb. David's response to this was PRAISE.

I followed along in the scriptures, it is nice to throughly search them through song.
I enjoy Miqedems version of Psalm 23. I have known this Psalm since I can remember- yet- trying to learn to sing in Hebrew with Miqedem, lots of repetition lol. One line all of a sudden jumped out and made me grow.
"He leads me in paths of righteousness, FOR HIS NAMES SAKE" ! Wow.
If righteousness is a measure of faith then we are led in paths that grow our faith.
I see this work is going to be the same- what lesson of Wow will I find?

Gospel! The good news about Jesus Christ and salvation from judgment on our sins. Jesus dined with His disciples the night before He went to the cross. Mark 14:22-25. Jesus and His disciples were eating a Passover meal together at the Last Supper. Jesus Christ loves us! We believe this! John 3:16-17. We believe Him and who He is! He is our Savior! GOD THE SON! ONLY HE SAVES.
Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast."
JESUS GAVE HIS LIFE FOR US AND LIVES AGAIN!
1 Corinthians 15: 3 "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"
Blood coming from his body, NAKED, hanging on that cross like Roman torture weapon! What a Lord God and Savior! He had to. HE is God the Son. Only His sinless blood could pay for all our sins. 1 John 2:1-2.
He died on our behalf! We believe in Him and who He is, trusting the shedding of His blood as payment for ALL our sins, and His burial and resurrection from the dead the third day for our eternal life! John 20:24-31. HE LIVES EVERMORE!
We can live forever through Him. God forgives our sins through Him otherwise our sins will prevent us from living in Glory with Him and our family in the faith the Bible describes. We study to show ourselves approved in wisdom and further truths about Him! We are in a family! God's family. CHRIST'S BRIDE! We got to know Jesus Christ better and better!
Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates his love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more than, now justified by his blood, we will be saved from wrath through him."
