These photos are amazing! Each one evokes stories and emotions that connect us with the past. It's impressive how you capture the essence of each moment. I can't wait to see more!
First off, I'd like to say this video was well done, as well as quite informative... so I hate to be nit-picky but here goes. The picture of the early surfers in the 1920s, the narrator states they are holding rudimentary boards "very different from the, lightweight and aerodynamic boards we know today." Wouldn't hydrodynamic be the more appropriate term in reference to a surfboard?
Everything was going great until the A.I. voice screwed up again. When it clearly said " Dropped a three zero, zero, zero pound bomb..." instead of saying a "three thousand pound bomb." Artificial intelligence is anything but intelligent.
What’s saddening is here in the U.K. unless you can afford to go private that’s how people have to deal with dentistry today. It just hit me how disturbing and disgusting that is😢 Where I live there isn’t a single NHS dentist within 30 miles, how can this ever be ok?
Incredible pictures! That horse is beautiful. As an electrician who's worked on high voltage power lines. That picture of one man giving another mouth to mouth is moving. Im reminded of the biblical verse, Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John15:13 My grandparents were among those Cubans that migrated to US in the late 30's and 40's, that included Mambo. Who could have imagined Nelson Mandela would free S. Africa on one hand, yet destroying it in doing so. S. Africa's economy has never recovered. The level of violence has only increased.
Always nice to see history rather than read or hear it. Some very nice pictures thru the cascade of time makes a person think about then till now how things have progressed.
A number of the photos have the complete info wrong. For instance, Bill the Kid wasn't playing Cricket. Americans didn't even know WTF Cricket was. It was croquet.
I remember seeing these air conditioners on car windows in the 1950s. I believe the conditioners were filled with water which kept the cars as cool as possible.
9:20 There was a period in the USA when there were many children and fewer adults due to a series of global earthquakes which caused massive 'mud floods', which buried many buildings and killed many people. Millions of children were brought in, over a period of about 50 years, and adopted. I still haven't traced the details on this woman who was responsible for all of these children being brought in from 'God knows' where. Very strange. Why were ALL of these children blonde haired and blue eyed ?! Where the blue blazes did they come from ? I don't know. Is that why there were so many children working in jobs for which men clearly would do much better and would be chosen for those jobs if they were available: Why would anyone put a child in a Cole mine unless you had nobody else? Plus there was the Civil War, which killed many more ppl of all ages. It's a wonder there were any people left in 1870. There is soooooo much crap in History we know almost nothing about.
I'm 58 9:16 My grandmother was born in 1912 and she was a child laborer. All the girls left after 5th grade to work in textile mills as bobbin girls. 10 hours a day and a half day on Saturday. Children working en mass was not that long ago at all.
For the date many of these were supposed to have taken place, the photos are much crisper than they had the capability of producing. I’m curious if these are reproductions? Or have they been digitally altered to give you a much better “picture” of the picture?
Yeah I'm sure they are cleaned up a bit. But I have been seeing most of these same pictures long before the digital age. Other than being clearer they look the same. I have never seen that one of President Lincoln funeral though, pretty cool photo.
I don’t know what that was they called a swamp cooler… but swamp coolers were very common out west. It was a heavy canvas bag that was hung on the outside of the car, over the radiator. The purpose was to cool the car. Good idea. Cheap. We should go back to swamp coolers and make a smaller carbon footprint.
Can you imagine parents so caught up in science that they raised their child with an animal that had the strength to pull their child's arms off? The height of bad parenting.
Let Us see the more ‘Cryptic’ Collection of Photos which We know Are Extant but likely in Private hands ! Volunteer your hidden gems for the Edification of all, you Will be richly rewarded for the action and ignition to many others who will do the same. . Here’s wishing You Well and Prosperous 🌺
Bob Hope was a naughty boy! And sadly all those wonderful uso shows he did were a cash grab for him, he owned the rights. Or read THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES, but that's far out even for me. Am I crazy or annoying or both?
Ford cars were not introduced until the 1930s. I guess old grandpa was wrong when he talked about his Model T that he purchased in the early 1900s. Poor old grandpa; he always was kind of forgetful, especially when it came to looking at women! 😅
But this... "Model A The first Ford car was the Model A, which was sold on July 15, 1903. It was the first vehicle to feature the Ford Blue Oval logo and had a Safety Glass windshield. Ford Motor Company Henry Ford and 11 other investors founded the Ford Motor Company on June 16, 1903. Ford became the president and controlling owner in 1906. "
Now RUclips is going to get like Xfinity everybody charges money for every spot.. I can't stand the greed in this world.. where is all the fun in watching these videos then.. flipping through and looking at different things on RUclips is fun and I already pay the family plan but if I'm going to start getting charged for every little thing I will shut it all down because I have had it!
The photo of the largest horse may have been the result of a deliberate double exposure, but not a product of AI. The first time I saw the photo was in the early 1960’s, and it was considered a very old photo then.
This credits a 6' 10" Nigerian art student as the sole inspiration behind the Xenomorph in the Aliens Series - completely WRONG, as the design was entirely based off of HR GIGER's Artwork and direct design prior to the writing of the Script . They needed a freakishly tall person for the role that required them to wear a suit and wanted someone skinny and tall, versus someone more in proportion like Mayhew (Chewbacca) and Basketball players. Bolaji Badejo the nigerian suit wearer, fit the bill, but wasn't invited back for sequels - his movements, lack of stamina and general lack of basic talent for a non speaking part and miming non stunt parts (a stuntman did most, if not all the acting). HR Giger worked closely and desperately with Bolaji through the course of filming to try and help him, but Bolaji proved that some people are truly useless.

Duh! The had water in them, they were SWAMP COOLERS
Henry Ford and Hitler each had portraits of each other (scary). 22:44

How about getting the AI voice-over to take a breath between photos rather than morphing the descriptions of one photo into the next.

Although I recognized several of the subjects, it would have been more interesting to have had a blurb for each picture.
that giant horse was photo-enhanced.
Percherons are born black and turn grey just like lippizaners'

Half of this is pure claptrap. Get some discernment, people. Photoshop has been around for many MANY years.
So who won The Mayor or the other guy?
The Photo of Billy the Kid playing Ball is a well known Fake...just saying 😂
I quess Bobiviti got what he never wanted and should have never got into that situation. So stupid. He got what he signed for.
Croquet not cricket. Cricket was invented many years before the photo was taken. Poor narration.very simple to find out what was being played. Lazy.

No such thing as african American. We're all American, thats it.
Don't like this photo narration at all. It's mentally fatiguing. Subtitles are much better.
